  1. Great first experience with Hotwire (for $89/night). I stayed here for two nights Aug 3-4, 2010. Flew in in the morning, used the free airport shuttle, and arrived at the hotel by around noon. We got our warm cookies upon checking in. I think I asked for a room high up - they gave me a room on the Penthouse floor (13th), so my wife and kids LOVED that, although it was just a standard room with double beds. We went down to the pool, which was just fabulous on a lovely summer day. Lunch at Taco Bell across the street. Went into Seattle that night and again the next day - we had a rental car and it was about a 20-minute drive at night, then the next day when we HAD to get to downtown by 8:00 am, we left a little before 7:00 and were there by 7:30. All day in Seattle, back to the hotel for the kids to play in the pool while I went grocery shopping (just starting a 2-week vacation in the area) and to pick up a pizza, both within a 5-minute drive, then we ate the pizzas poolside, while surfing the internet (no free internet in the rooms, but it was free in the lobby and by the pool). Very nice. Didn't love the $17 parking, but at least I knew about it. Breakfast the next day was at Denny's across the street, then upon checking out, we asked for and got four more nice warm cookies. We loved it!
  2. In a HEAVILY Asian-populated area - good neighborhood, upper middle class, tons of Chinese restaurants. This hotel has seen better days, fraying furniture, etc., but still probably worthy of 3 stars. Free internet, but parking was $13/day with tax. I think it included a free airport shuttle, although we didn't use it. As opposed to what it said when I booked, there is NO POOL. Nice fitness room, though.
  3. Okay, to be specific - Vancouver (B.C.) Airport Area - 3* - Aug 14-16 - 2 adults, 2 children, amenities (they claim): Airport shuttle, restaurant, fitness center, business center, pool, high-speed internet access. Price $59/night. As noted previously in this thread, there is NO POOOL at this hotel, but Hotwire says there is.
  4. Well, I went ahead and got a 3* hotel for $59. The amenities were supposed to include a pool - a must for my children. Unfortunately, the hotel I got was the Four Points Sheraton, which apparently does NOT have a pool. So I called Hotwire, and they gave me a refund. I looked a few more days, and the price was the same - $59 for a 3* for Aug. 14-16 - but the hotel was not listed as having a pool. Aha, I thought, it must still be the Four Points, but they've fixed the amenities error. Finally today, I looked again and found the same price again, and this time with a pool. So I bought it, and lo and behold, it's still the same freakin' Four Points. I'll have to call them again tomorrow. (It's one in the morning now and I'm tired...)
  5. I'm sorry. I should have already mentioned that this search is for two adults and two children.
