  1. :) :)

Please change my post title to:

    3* Vancouver Crown Plaza Hotel. ..$45....4/25/06 - 4/30/06

I followed the bidding strategy you recommended.

    3* Vancouver, $40 rejected

I retained 3* selection and added a re-bid zone (Delta - which only had up to 2*s bid 45).

    It was accepted.

    Crowne Plaza Hotel Georgia

    Check-In Date: Tuesday, April 25, 2006

    Check-Out Date: Sunday, April 30, 2006

Your Offer Price: $45.00 (US dollars)

    Number of Rooms: 1

    Number of Nights: 5

    Subtotal: $225.00 (US dollars)

Taxes & Service Fees: $34.43 (US dollars)

    Total Charges: $259.43 (US dollars)

CrownPlaza's lowest advertised daily rate is $129Cdn (about $112 USD), hence I saved more than 50% per night. Thanks very much to you and SavingsBarn

  2. Hi,

I am attending a conference at the Vancouver Coast Plaza between April 25th and 30th. I plan to fly into Seattle and drive across, hence should be getting to Vancouver around 2am.

The Coast Plaza is in the downtown area, I believe.

I want a hotel near the conference centre (not more than 30mins from the centre by car)

I can accept hotels within 2* to 3.5* ratings (4* might be too expensive for me).

I am willing to pay about $50.00 per night

I would be very grateful if you can suggest a bidding strategy for me.

    Regards, Noela

Bid 4*, added a final DonValley Rebid zone, increased bid to 65$ and got accepted at the Downtown Sheratons. Details below:

    Check-In Date: Sat, Nov 19, 2005

    Check-In Time: After 03:00 PM

    Check-Out Date: Sun, Nov 20, 2005

    Check-Out Time: 12:00 PM

Your Offer Price: $65.00 (US dollars)

    Number of Rooms: 1

    Number of Nights: 1

    Subtotal: $65.00 (US dollars)

    Taxes & Service Fees:

    $13.36 (US dollars)

    Total Charges: $78.36 (US dollars)

Not a bad deals...given that average rates for these hotels is over 140 at other websites.

    Thanks for assistance ....

  4. Travelling to Toronto with my girlfriend from 11/17 - 11/20.

    We plan to spend:

    thursday in Toronto

friday in Niagra falls - stay over

    saturday in Toronto

    For thursday - friday (11/17-11/18)

Added Don Valley Rebid zone, increased bid to 60, got rejected

Added North East rebid zone, increased bid to 65, got rejected

Added Aiport rebid zone, but accidentally, decreased zone to 3*.

PL accepted a 3* (Airport Marriot) at $65.

I felt this was an overbid. I called Priceline, and requested a cancellation. Surprisingly, they agreed to let me cancel for a $25 fee, provided I rebid within the next 7 days. If my new (rebid) is accepted, they will waive the 25$ fee. If not, i forfeit it.

So I rebid 4* Downtown, starting at 58, got rejected

Bid 4*, but added Brampton rebid zone, increased price slightly to 60, got rejected

  6. Stayed at this hotel recently.....

It is good for a one-nighter.....the rooms and the atmosphere just makes it seem like an upgraded EconoLodge !!.

And currently, they are doing a lot of renovations, adding to the noise and stench around.

This Four Points Sheraton does not compare to others with similar star ratings (e.g, the Wyndham at the other side of 1&9 North.

What I like however is the swimming pool, free wireless service, exercise room and a cheap parking ($5/night) compared to $15-$20 at the Wyndam.

    cheers, Noela

  7. Needed a car for day for a trip from Buffalo Airport to Canada/US Border on the 25th.

The regular rates ranged from $52 to $60 using the CarRentalChecker

Began bidding from 15, then to 17 to 20, and then finally $25 was accepted, saving me almost 59% off Avis's advertised rates.

    Details of offer:

    Your Offer Price: $25.00

    Total Rental Days: 1

    Subtotal: $25.00

    Taxes & Fees: $11.09

    Total Charges: $36.09

    cheers, Noela

    3. Selected 2.5*, and added Jersey City, and bid $55. Bid accepted and upgraded to a 3* Four Points Sheraton.

    Your Offer Price: $55.00

    Number of Rooms: 1

    Number of Nights: 1

    Subtotal: $55.00

    Taxes & Service Fees: $15.37

    Total Charges: $70.37

  9. Well, got it...

I decided to start with a 4* bid at LAX, and if rejected, I can utilize the number of rebid zones (3*) available.

So I started with an offer of $65 for a 4* at LAX area. It was accepted the first time - for the Sheraton Gateway Hotel (regular internet price is $199.00).

    Offer Details:

    Your Offer Price: $65.00

    Number of Rooms: 1

    Number of Nights: 1

    Subtotal: $65.00

    Taxes & Service Fees: 16.96

    Total Charges: $81.96

So Thereure, please is it possible to edit my title to:

    4* Los Angeles (LAX Airport) Sheraton Gateway...8/16/05 - 8/17/05

    cheers - Noela

  10. Hi,

I am arriving at LA on August 16, and will need to sleep over for one night, before driving up north to Bakersfield, the following day.

I need a nice play to stay - a 3* would be perfect, though I wouldn't mind some 2.5* (the woman's wishes, not mine).

I don't really care about locations - so long as it is quite nice....everywhere is pretty close to the I-5.

what bidding strategy would you advice - we are willing to pay close to $60-$70 for the night.

    cheers - Noela

  11. Hi,

    I need to attend a conference in Philly between 8/13 - 8/16.

Thereafter, I am going to Los Angeles for about 12 days, till 8/28.

Now, i need a park and fly deal that will somehow allow me to stay in Philly for the conference, and go for my 12 days trip to Los Angels.

will priceline-booked hotels offer park & fly deals? I am looking at a maximum of 3* hotels..

    sincerely, Noela

  12. Checked into this hotel today, 07/16/2005.

Impressed by the size of this room.

For a 2.5* rating, this hotel is worth much more....it is quite large, with kitchen, big bedroom and bathroom - it almost feels like a 1-bedroom apartment.

I felt so much at home. It does not compare with any other 3* or even 4* i have stayed at....

Excellent for families on vacation, and others with domesticated tastes....

Highly Recommended ..will stay here again !
