  1. Hi, I think most areas within the downtown zone would be fine - so long as they are accessible by public transport or car. What do you think of the $50 offer from hotwire, as the previous poster suggested - could it be the CrownPlaza?: Yes, $50 is my maximum bid before taxes Regards, Noela
  2. Hi, I am attending a conference at the Vancouver Coast Plaza between April 25th and 30th. I plan to fly into Seattle and drive across, hence should be getting to Vancouver around 2am. The Coast Plaza is in the downtown area, I believe. I want a hotel near the conference centre (not more than 30mins from the centre by car) I can accept hotels within 2* to 3.5* ratings (4* might be too expensive for me). I am willing to pay about $50.00 per night I would be very grateful if you can suggest a bidding strategy for me. Regards, Noela

  6. terrible place to stay - room had cracks; I couldn't believe this is a 3*, and it stinks with the renovations going on.... the Wyndham (another 3*) is much better - i've stayed there 3 times. anyhow, it was good for the one-nighter....I've posted a review of the hotel on this site. /Noela
  7. Stayed at this hotel recently..... It is good for a one-nighter.....the rooms and the atmosphere just makes it seem like an upgraded EconoLodge !!. And currently, they are doing a lot of renovations, adding to the noise and stench around. This Four Points Sheraton does not compare to others with similar star ratings (e.g, the Wyndham at the other side of 1&9 North. What I like however is the swimming pool, free wireless service, exercise room and a cheap parking ($5/night) compared to $15-$20 at the Wyndam. cheers, Noela
  8. Needed a car for day for a trip from Buffalo Airport to Canada/US Border on the 25th. The regular rates ranged from $52 to $60 using the CarRentalChecker Began bidding from 15, then to 17 to 20, and then finally $25 was accepted, saving me almost 59% off Avis's advertised rates. Details of offer: Your Offer Price: $25.00 Total Rental Days: 1 Subtotal: $25.00 Taxes & Fees: $11.09 Total Charges: $36.09 cheers, Noela

  10. Well, got it... I decided to start with a 4* bid at LAX, and if rejected, I can utilize the number of rebid zones (3*) available. So I started with an offer of $65 for a 4* at LAX area. It was accepted the first time - for the Sheraton Gateway Hotel (regular internet price is $199.00). Offer Details: Your Offer Price: $65.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: $65.00 Taxes & Service Fees: 16.96 Total Charges: $81.96 So Thereure, please is it possible to edit my title to: 4* Los Angeles (LAX Airport) Sheraton Gateway...8/16/05 - 8/17/05 cheers - Noela
  11. Hi, I am arriving at LA on August 16, and will need to sleep over for one night, before driving up north to Bakersfield, the following day. I need a nice play to stay - a 3* would be perfect, though I wouldn't mind some 2.5* (the woman's wishes, not mine). I don't really care about locations - so long as it is quite nice....everywhere is pretty close to the I-5. what bidding strategy would you advice - we are willing to pay close to $60-$70 for the night. cheers - Noela
  12. Yes, I am actually, accessing the hotels using the support page links..... cheers - N
  13. Ok...will do that.....during the course of the week....after exploring all the options.. best - Noela
  14. Dahammer, I am about to contact the Holiday & Ramada Innss...... I found interesting details on this site: http://www.philly.com/mld/inquirer/news/sp...ses/9297117.htm What do you think of the MicrotelInn....if the rates posted at this site are valid (i will have to check), then it might be worth the try, assuming it is a safe place.... cheers - Noela
  15. Thereuare, Thanks.... do you know of any strategies to doing 2 legs of one-way car rentals: August 16: 1-way rental from BWI to PHL August 28: 1-way rental from PHL to BWI I am getting horrible rates off the web... cheers, Noela
  16. Thereuare, Thanks for the reply. These are the hotels that offer the Park & Fly deal in the Philly airport area: -- Sheraton Four Points -- Sheraton Suites -- Hilton -- Renaissance -- Holiday Inn So you think bidding 2.5* to 3* in the philly airport area might not land any of these ? cheers, Noela
  17. Hi, I need to attend a conference in Philly between 8/13 - 8/16. Thereafter, I am going to Los Angeles for about 12 days, till 8/28. Now, i need a park and fly deal that will somehow allow me to stay in Philly for the conference, and go for my 12 days trip to Los Angels. will priceline-booked hotels offer park & fly deals? I am looking at a maximum of 3* hotels.. sincerely, Noela
  18. Thereuare, this hotel is really good...it should probably be ranked 3*....service, reception is good - the rooms are large, with kitchen, refrigerator, etc ...good for a family on a vacation. Will stay here again ! cheers, Noela
  19. Checked into this hotel today, 07/16/2005. Impressed by the size of this room. For a 2.5* rating, this hotel is worth much more....it is quite large, with kitchen, big bedroom and bathroom - it almost feels like a 1-bedroom apartment. I felt so much at home. It does not compare with any other 3* or even 4* i have stayed at.... Excellent for families on vacation, and others with domesticated tastes.... Highly Recommended ..will stay here again ! Noela
  20. 2* Ottawa Marriott Residence Inn Bid 3* Ottawa Hull at $45, declined Bid 2.5* Ottawa Hull at $48, declined Added Ottawa, bid $45. Bid accepted. 21. actually, i would prefer Hull, but could do with any other place within Ottawa itself. i tried Hull, 3* 45, rejected, lowered it to 2.5* 48 rejected. and stopped. I could add more zones, but decided to wait for further guidance. cheers, Noela
  22. oTTAWA HULL SHOULD BE FINE..... CHEERS - NOELA
  23. Hi, I need to book a hotel for a night - 7/16 - 7/17 (saturday-sunday). I willing to pay a max of about $50, so probably a 2* or 3* should suffice. What bidding strategies would you recommend? In appreciation - Noela
  24. Well, I got it at a 2* Level. Since bidding at 2.5* and 3* levels were not successful at even up to $80, I dropped star level, and bidded straight $60 for JFK, and got it. With taxes and fees, it came to $78 (advertised rates for that hotel start at around $90, with taxes/fees, it could run about $120). At least, I am happy we will be closer to the airport. Please amend title to: 2* NYC Airports (Airport JFK) Best Western, $60 -- 6/14 cheers - Noela
