  1. We originally booked a Cozumel hotel through Hotwire for April 2005. The hotel ended up being the Park Royal Hotel which was scheduled to undergo rennovations in May. The Park Royal' s ammenities were: Resort, Beachfront, Food & Beverage included, Pools, Children's Activities, Fitness Center, Tennis Nearby. The cost was $134 per night. Hotwire emailed me four days before our trip and told us that the Hotel had closed early and they would put us up in another hotel or give us a refund. The substitute hotel that Hotwire offered was the Reef Club Cozumel Beach and Dive Resort - All Inclusive 3.5 star with the following ammenities: Resort Near Beach Beachfront Food and Beverages Included A la Carte Dining Options Pool(s) Fitness Center Spa Services Tennis Nearby Restaurant(s) Based upon some of the reviews that I read for the Reef Club Cozumel we opted for a refund and then searched for a new hotel. A new search led us to booking again on Hotwire at the 3.5 star Allegro Cozumel and the hotel had the following ammenities: Resort Beachfront Food & Beverage Included A La Carte Dinning Options Water Sports/Ocean Activities Evening Entertainment Daily Activities Pool(s). The price for the room was $226.00 per night (two people) and we took advantage of Hotwire's Double the Difference Guarantee. I found this same Hotel on Orbitz for $160 per night. Using the Double the Difference "Bonus" our room actually cost us $94.00 per night, what a deal!!! The Allegro is a real nice resort with immaculate grounds, comfortable rooms, a range of food options and a NICE beach.
  2. We stayed in cozumel in April at the 3.5 star Allegro Cozumel. The price for the room was $226.00 per night (two people) and we took advantage of Hotwire's Double the Difference Guarantee. I found this same Hotel on Orbitz for $160 per night. 3. I used Yahoo currency exchange. It gives you an accurate quote on the exchange rate, but keep in mind your credit card company may not offer the exact same rates and may charge a currency conversion fee (some do).
  4. Just used Priceline.co.uk to bid on a four star hotel in Myrtle Beach. I have tried using Priceline.com but bid up to $85 for a 3 * without any luck. This area seems to be harder to get a hotel in since they removed the resort option earlier in the year. I bid 55 Euro (the equivalent of $72.90 US) and got a 4 * Hotel in the Radisson Plaza Hotel. I originally bid 43 Euro but was given the chance to increase my price by 12 Euro and have a room. I am sure I could have rebid later and got the room at a little lower price but overall the deal wasn't bad. I checked the Radisson Hotel web page and these rooms start at $159 US per night depending upon the season. I only bid for one night as a stay over on our trip to Hilton Head. I later used Priceline.co.uk to bid on and win a room at the Hilton Head Marriot Beach and Golf Resort. I bid 65 Euro ($85 US) and won without a problem for July 31-Aug 4. I had tried on Priceline.com over the last 3 weeks and bid up to $90 US without any luck for the same hotel class (resort) and the same dates. I live in the states and tried Priceline.co.uk on the off chance that I might get a better deal. It seemed to work.
  5. SRUAlmn I am also interested in finding out what Hotel this might be. We have stayed in MB before and are struggling with staying in Charleston or MB. I see the hotel listed in mid August for $81 per night, a nice price for the area. Let me know!
  6. We have a little flexibility with these dates, but we are certainly looking for something closer to the beach. We were originally looking for Myrtle Beach or Hilton Head but finding good properties on the beach is hard to come by (especially at a good price). I looked at the Hilton web site for this property and Hilton is saying that it is a 3 star AAA property with the following ammenities: pool, fitness, business center, wireless, and handicap accessible. It doesn't seem to match up with what is listed on Hotwire in terms of the ammenities or the Pinned lists. Does anyone know of public beach access if we were to stay in the Charleston area, other than at Wild Dunes Resort?
  7. I am looking to book 2 rooms in the Charleston (East of Cooper area) for August 1-5, 2005. I came across a resort for these dates and I am not sure which hotel it is. The Ammenities are as follows: Resort, Restaurants, Polls, Fitness Center, Children's Activity Program, Golf, and Business Center. It is listed as a 4 * property. The cost per room/per nigt is $118. We would really like to be close to the beach but the ammenities don't list beachfront or beach access. I believe this might be the Boardwalk Inn Hotel at the Wild Dunes Resort but I am not sure. Any thoughts? I will also post this topic in the general questions area (Sorry) since the South Carolina area doesn't seem to have many posts.
