  1. On the first bid of $59 for a 3 Star Hotel. Only Area Reno South. Used Savings Barn Link
  2. Checked Hotwire. I couldn't identify some of the hotels from the amenities and the current list. 3* at the Airport for $53 bu 2.5 * downtown for $48 Econo Lodge at $35 (2 star, Ha Ha) :) and an unidentified 1 * downtown for $38. Was prepared to stay at Super8 for $40. (I've had good luck with that chain) Bid $36 on Priceline for Downtown and Sky Harbor for 3* REJECTED Bid $39 on Priceline for Downtown and Sky Harbor for 2.5* or above ACCEPTED at the 3* Radison Hotel Phoenix Airport North
  3. :) How about splitting out Arizona from the Alabama / Alaska / Arizona / Arkansas Priceline (and Hotwire) board? It seems like Arizona is getting a lot of traffic. Just a suggestion.
  4. RENO SOUTH Hilton Reno Resort and Casino Amenities: Casino, Airport Shuttle, Restaurant(s), Pool(s), Fitness Center, Spa Services, High-speed Internet Access, Children's Activity Program, Golf Nearby, Tennis Nearby, Business Center, Laundry Facilities Location: Reno, Nevada On a side note the RENO Hilton is transferring ownership within the next month. It will be owned by the Grand Sierra Resort Corp and the top 11 floors will be converted to Condos. Hotel was fine although it is beginning to show its age.
  5. As usual, I placed my bid at the last moment. I booked the room Tuesday Night when I was flying out Thursday Morning. After seeing the $61 price, I didn't feel like trying Priceline to save a few bucks. There were no extra charges added at the hotel. (I didn't drive.) This hotel's location is excellent. Only 1 block from the Metro. It is patrolled by Capital Hill Police and I felt very safe until I walked 15 blocks, across a freeway, towards the river. Then the neighborhood started getting a little seedy. Two late night coffee shops were within two blocks. Right next to the library of Congress. The staff was extremely nice. (I'm not very demanding.) The hotel is older and needs some maintaince. If you are extremely picky about such things, then maybe you should keep looking. The furniture was nice and the bed comfortable. If you stay at Super 8, Motel 6, then this will be deluxe
  6. Whoops bid was for two nights 11/3-11/5. Made a bid November 2nd for Deadwood / Lead Area 2-2.5 stars (Only stars available.) Bid $38, it was rejected. Did not rebid. Stayed at the Super 8 which was very nice.
  7. Made a bid on November 2nd to stay November 5th for $30 in Rapid City. I selected both 2.5 and 3 stars (only options available). The bid was rejected but a second chance was offered. All I needed to do was bid eight dollars more. Since I was only spending 1 night, I passed and stayed at Motel 6.
  8. Yes this was my first bid for this stay. I don't really try to get the VERY best price. I have a simple strategy. I look for the best discount motel price (e.g. Super 8, Motel 6) and then try to upgrade for the same price. :)
  9. Very Nice Hotel Hilton Garden Inn ...Scottsdale NORTH This is not the downtown Scottsdale Hilton Garden Inn. Its about 13 miles north from Old Town Scottsdale. It turned out for the best (for me) because it is closer to my daughter.
  10. Stayed at the Marriott West End. Very nice hotel. Nice section of town. Five blocks from Metro which is the way to go in DC. (Bus from Airport to Metro $3) My first bid for 2.5 star was accepted and upgraded to 3 stars. I asked for a room in Georgetown - Foggy Bottom, Dupont Circle, or Capitol. I probably could have gone down a few dollars but I was in a hurry. I bid on Feb 8th for a room on Feb 10-14.
