  1. I had to go for the 4th bid to get a winner but did alright with a $48 plus needed it for this evening. Same day bidding during the Thanksgiving weekend. Good score all around. Started at $35 and added zones 7, 3, 1, and 8. TM
  2. Started out at $40 and ended up at $80 while on my last possible zone which was my 7th bid. This will work since I was hoping for something near the L train and I'm not far from the Rosemont train. I've never stayed near the airport or this specific hotel but the reviews seem to be very nice. I would call this an very average deal since the rack rate for this hotel is $109. I was hoping a little better price especially near the airport. I really wanted something near downtown but the rack rates were in the $300-$500 and I did try bidding last night trying only for downtown and got up around $150 only to be rejected. So I opted for the airport instead to fit my budget. Offer Price: avg. per room, per night $80.00 Rooms: 1 Nights: 2 Room Subtotal: $160.00 Taxes & Fees: $33.74 Total Charged to Card: $193.74
  3. Hands down, the nicest score ever on Priceline! The rack rate for this the top notch resort was $280 per night and we scored it for $65. The staff even gave us a corner room facing the ocean. Great place that had everything an elite hotel should have. The only negatives is you'll pay $25 automatically for the valet parking and $25 for a hotel resort fee. Still worth it if you aks me based on the nice rooms and all the amentiies. I was originally bidding around the Santa Anta airport and lost several bids and opened it up to Huntington/Newport and won the 4th bid. Well worth it! Best of luck, we enjoyed the weekend get away for my wife and I.
  4. Just some FYI on this hotel after our stay; the good things are its a clean place also the rooms are very updated and nice. The staff was great and I believe they offered a free breakfast. The bad was location and transportation. If you have your own car, then you would be OK but for airline travelers needing transportation, this place is thumbs down. No shuttle on the weekends and the shuttle only runs from 8 to 5. Terrible hours for airline guest. Also, there is nothing to walk to in the area. Its out in the middle of BFE. Just some info to help out other potential bidders.
  5. First bid was $40 and was offered a $50 automatic rebid. Didn't like this offer and normally refuse and rebid lower but this region didn't have any other zones to rebid so I had to take the offer. Content with the location, I've not stayed their and the comments are mixed on this place. Preferred a Marriott. Offer Price: avg. per room, per night $50.00 Rooms: 1 Nights: 1 Room Subtotal: $50.00 Taxes & Fees: $14.77 Total Charged to Card: $64.77 Rack rate on this place is $130 according to its website. Very happy with the deal.
  6. First bid was $48 and won. I should've priced it lower to start but only had two zones to work so I went safe. I needed to stay near campus so I had the Texas Tech zone and Downtown to work with. Content with the win overall. Rack rate for this place is $94 Offer Price: avg. per room, per night $48.00 Rooms: 1 Nights: 1 Room Subtotal: $48.00 Taxes & Fees: $13.84 Total Charged to Card: $61.84
  7. UPDATE ON THIS BID!!!!!!!!!! My flight today was delayed by American Airlines and I was going to miss my connection in Dallas. The only back up flight had me into Lubbock at 11 PM. AA gave a new flight for the next AM. The purpose of me explaining this is Priceline was GREAT about the issue and refunded my money for tonights hotel and even my rental car which I scored through them as well. The representative on Priceline had to verify my flight info and check with the car rental place to make sure I didn't already use the car. Anyways, for future reference, kill the Priceline staff with kindness and they will listen in some cases. Last but not least, I rebidded for another stay tomorrow and scored the La Quinta for $48. Cheaper than my original win at another hotel. I will post that on a new thread. Hope this info helps someone in the future.
  8. First bid was $48 and won second bid. Rack rate is $150 so this was a good score. Offer Price: avg. per room, per night $53.00 Rooms: 1 Room Subtotal: $53.00 Taxes & Fees: $14.58 Total Charged to Card: $67.58
  9. I started out about $35 in my bidding. Took 5 zones but scored a really nice place here at the Marriott Residence Inn. Rack rate for this place is around $160 per night. Great deal if you get this place since they offer a very nice complimentary breakfast and a managers social in the evening. Hotel room is like a small apartment. Offer Price: $58.00 Rooms: 1 Room Subtotal: $58.00 Taxes & Fees: $17.95 Total Charged to Card: $75.95
  10. CORECTION. Wrong date. Should be noted the correct date is 11/27/11.
  11. First three bids were denied. Started out at $35 and was counter offered $56. I rejected and tried a lower rate. $52.00 Rooms: 1 Nights: 1
  12. First offer was $45, denied. Second offer was $50 denied. Changed to 2.5 Offer accepted. Price: avg. per room, per night $51.00 Rooms: 1 Nights: 1 Room Subtotal: $51.00 Taxes & Fees: $14.29 Total Charged to Card: $65.29 Rack rate for this room starts out at $89.
  13. First bid zone 5, $35.00 3.5 star Second bid zone 2 $ 37.00 Third bid zone 5 $39 (changed to 3.0 star) Fourth bid zone 8 $40 WIN Happy with location and price. Rack rate starts out around $95 plus tax. Room Cost (avg. per room, per night): $40.00 (USD) Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Guests Per Room: 2 Number of Nights: 1 Room Subtotal: $40.00 (USD) Taxes and Fees: $12.95 (USD) Total Room Cost: $52.95 (USD)
  14. Offer Price: My first bid was $45, I was given an option to raise my bid to $54. I rejected and added zone 2 and countered with $47. We've stayed here before and it's a very nice place and great deal. The only setback is they charge for parking and internet. I believe rack rate is around $109 without taxes. :) Avg.. per room, per night $47.00 Rooms: 1 Nights: 1
  15. Emptynester, Not sure why your not scoring a deal at the airport as the rates are in good position to score a deal. When re-bidding, try these zones as they don't offer 3.5. 7 I70 - Airport West – 2.5 9 Northeast Denver – 2.5 10 Northglenn - Thornton – 2.5 This would give you at least 3 re-bidding chances but there are more 3* options if you need to continue the re-bid process. Good luck. Go Rams
  16. Emptynester, Just some FYI, you can re-bid after making an initial bid within 24 hrs. The betterbidding website offers that information on how to score and maximize great deals. If your not sure, please take the time to read on how to re-bid using different zones to your advantage. This philosophy does work thus the reason so many on this website obtain huge deals. Go to general priceline tips on re-bidding within 24 hrs. Anyway I can help you get the airport deal done, please advise. Good luck and keep in touch and let us know if your efforts payoff. Go Rams.
  17. Hey emptynester, We stayed last Thursday night. Great hotel and a perfect location since there are many choices of eateries and some of them were within walking distance. The hotel was a 15-20 min drive to dowtown with no traffic. The rooms were huge with a lot of space for our two little ones and we even had a double bed. As far as my bidding, I went with the airport since we were arriving from the east side of Denver. You might want to check if there is a big event that weekend in Denver since your bids are not being excepted at the $53 bid. I would also recommend either of the tech center options since they offer nice 3/3.5 hotel options and the location are just as advantagous as the airport zone. Downtown can be good but you will get punished for paying for parking, costly internet and no free breakfast like the airport or tech centers. Hope this helps.
  18. Sorry admin, this is in the Air Force zone 2. Residence Inn Colorado Springs North/air force academy. 9805 Federal Drive. Side note, I did call to see if we can get a double bed since we have two little ones. This hotel only offers suites so the front desk informed me I can only get a queen bed with couch that converts since we went through Priceline. The other options start out at $190. I did use this website to PRICELINE link into my bidding as always.
  19. I could've got this place for about $10 less but I screwed up my bidding. Overall, still a great deal and very spacious hotel rooms will help with the little ones. Overall a good deal, just wish I would've bid this region first instead of starting out in the central region for $45. Rejected bids were $50, $55 and $57. I was shooting for the central area trying for the Antlers Hilton. Again, content on the hotel, just bummed I didn't do a better job of bidding. I'm seasoned bidder, I should've known better. avg. per room, per night $60.00 Rooms: 2 Nights: 1 Room Subtotal: $120.00 Taxes & Fees: $20.92 Total Charged to Card: $140.92
  20. I actually bidded $45 but Priceline wouldn't accept it and requested to bump it up $6. I got it first try and its a great place plus the rack rate is $129. Good score. Hyatt Place Denver Airport 16250 East 40Th Avenue, Aurora, CO 80011 | 303-371-0700 avg. per room, per night $51.00 Rooms: 1 Nights: 1 Room Subtotal: $51.00 Taxes & Fees: $14.41 Total Charged to Card: $65.41
  21. 22. Started out with a $30 bid in Tech Center South 3.5*/Rejected $32 Rebid Tech Center North *3.5/Rejected $33 Rebid Same zones added *3 /Accepted Hilton Garden Inn Denver South/Meridian 9290 Meridian Boulevard Englewood, Colorado 80112 Your Offer Price: $33.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 3 Subtotal: $99.00 Taxes and Fees: $21.51 Total Charges*: $120.51 Rack rate cost with taxes for this same location and dates: $272.00 (Saved $152)
  23. I had a $5 bonus cash reward that I used so my actual bid was $45. I had to use 3 free zone bids to get this score and needed something near the airport. Good deal, rack rate for this hotel appears to be $89 with no taxes. Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $50.00 Subtotal: $50.00 Taxes & Fees: $16.02 Total Charges*: $66.02 And as always, I used this website PRICELINE link to do my bidding.
  24. Mixed reviews on this hotel as I've read some good and bad. Regardless, Chicago is never a bad time even in January. First bid was $50 rejected but offered a $65 counter offer. As noted in so many postings, reject it and bid again. Next bid was for $55 and accepted. Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $55.00 Subtotal: $110.00 Taxes & Fees: $24.88 Total Charges*: $134.88 Rack rate for this stay on the same day starts out at $150.00. Another huge savings plus I did use the PRICELINE link at this website to book my stay as always. Does anyone know if the "L" is near this hotel coming from Midway Airport?
  25. My original bid was for $185. They countered with $225 so I rejected. Next bid was for $186, they countered with $205. I took it thinking this was a good deal. This was my first bidding for a flight and got a good deal and great flight times for my schedule plus I'm using the airport I wanted. This ticket from Wichita to New Orleans is $310. Saved $55. Airline Ticket Cost: $205.00 (USD) per ticket Airline Ticket Taxes and Fees: $50.25 (USD) per ticket Number of Tickets: 1 Airfare Subtotal: $255.25 (USD) Total Trip Cost: $255.25 (USD)
