  1. It's sad what happened, but it's not illegal what Hotwire is doing. Even if you could prove to them all the details of your situation, it wouldn't matter. Sorry for what happened but looks like you'll have to live with it.
  2. wow!!! we definitely need an announcement for this!!!!
  3. just be calm at check-in, don't mention your age at all if for some reason they say "you're not old enough", ask to speak to a manager.....explain you have a credit card to guarantee the room and you don't want to cause any trouble and are tired and you just want some peace and quiet and would appreciate just being allowed to check-in also, since this is a priceline reservation, point out the fact that it's already paid for the hotel reserves the right to not allow you to check-in, the Bellagio 5* hotel in Las Vegas is a famous example of not being allowed to check-in unless you're 21
  4. I stayed at several hotels when I was under 21, even though they required you to be 21 to check-in. Once I had to slip a manager some cash to get my room. But every other time as long as I had a creditcard to guarantee for incidentals and I wasn't making problems for the other guests they could care less as long as I was over 18.
  5. this is one of those things that's hard to control best thing to do is always go with a reputable hotel chain, 2* or better to avoid bed bugs unfortunately, it can happen in the fanciest hotels if there's not proper cleaning, etc. but it's more prevalent in motels and cheaper hotels for sure......... you'll worry yourself too death about things like this if you think about it too much
  6. Congratulations on this win, beware of mandatory valet parking charges at this hotel.
  7. good to have you back, FL section has been staying busy!
  8. going on that tripadvisor rating, it does look to be the Dolphin (but the price isn't much better than the going rate for this hotel during those dates) with priceline, I'm sure you can get a 4* or Resort for well under $233 a night
  9. Swan or Dolphin would be my best guess because of the customer favorite (no way the Palace would get positive reviews) hard to say though......definitely on the expensive side what are the dates of your trip?
  10. now it's the Buena Vista Palace, it was just recently won thru priceline......see this thread
  11. glad to see it confirmed that it's 3* the problem with this property is that it's a very taxed Disney hotel so it's pretty worn down and old, and people expect a certain level of service for Resort level hotels, and that's why it was recently downgraded to 3* great price!! are they still charging a Resort Fee upon checkout?
  12. I don't think you meant to post here............thereuare will have to move this to the correct section hotwire offers quad occupancy priceline offers double occupancy most hotels it's a non-issue to have more than 2 people in a room tho in general
  13. actually thereuare was referring to the Wyndham Palace we've never seen the Wyndham Palms come up before thru Name Your Own Price
  14. ^ theuare, I don't think it's been upgraded....when I do a search on priceline's website I can't even find the Wyndham Palace for different dates this year the only Wyndham that's being listed as a resort is the Wyndham Palms at the moment
  15. nothing new go to the priceline website click help type in the search field: "Can I add nights to my hotel reservation?" click on the 1st topic and it will explain all (I would copy all the info, here but thereuare told me not to do that or give the direct link before)
  16. how much you want to bet in a couple years the policy on resort fees will change via priceline bidding due to lawsuits, complaints, etc.
  17. boy, it sure does sound like DoubleTree but yea that retail price throws me off too.....maybe it's as useless as priceline's retail price
  18. I can't seem to either, I reported this to thereuare
  19. good job thereuare, it's a good way to attract more members
