  1. Yes, I'm finding the same on HOTWIRE. Thanks again for checking.
  2. I was hoping to find something close to the beach with a pool and near Bucerias for around $100 a night. It doesn't need to be an all-inclusive but that might be a nice option if the price is right. Some of the resorts recently had bad reviews (customers fighting, vomiting in pools, etc) so I'd like to avoid those.
  3. Thank you Thereuare. That is my guess too. I will report back if I decide to pull the trigger.
  4. 5. You can find $145 rates for this hotel on other sites and there was a PRICELINE EXPRESS deal for $113, which I was pretty sure was for this Sheraton. I wasn't sure how low the hotel would accept, but since there are lots of rebid zones, I started bidding at $70 and just worked my way up until it was accepted. In past years I have gotten the verbiage that "if I rebid at (*a certain rate*), there was a good chance my bid would be accepted," which lets me know I am usually about $7 short of getting accepted. I didn't get that this time and thought I might end up having to purchase the PRICELINE EXPRESS deal after all. But I was accepted at $109. I know I'm only saving a few dollars this way, but its wired in me to try to get the best deal I can. *sigh* I have friends who enjoy this hotel so I am happy with the deal. And as always, I used the BetterBidding PRICELINE link to purchase my room. Thanks for all the info here!
  6. @smokeythebandit, Note that the Monte Carlo pool is currently closed, if that matters to you.
  7. Started bidding at $69 and then gradually added $2 to $3 until $85 was accepted. I figured it was the Red Lion by the description and believe it is the same hotel that is listed at $90 on PRICELINE EXPRESS and HOTWIRE Express has it for $92. I got 2 nights plus $38.90 in taxes for a total of $208.90. I would have liked to have one of the 2.5 star hotels instead but there were a few I REALLY didn't want. There are so many 2.5 stars that I wasn't able to tell by the descriptions which ones they were for sure. This hotel should be find for the price. Thank you for the BiddingHelper.com, which I always start my searches from.
  8. Using the Bidding.Helper, I checked all the prices for 3*s. Hotwire secret deals had the lowest price at $59. This gave me something to start with so I went to Priceline and bid $50 for a 3*. I was offered an instant rebid at $71 which meant I probably wouldn't get it unless I bid at least $60. I declined and just for fun, I added Keizer at $53, then added Dallas at $56. No go, so I switched over to Hotwire and picked up the $59 which was Phoenix Inn. I have stayed here before and figured this was the hotel. Its fine for the hotwire price, just hope they are done with the noisy remodel. Here are the FULL AMENITIES: Free parking, Free breakfast, Free Internet, Pet friendly, Indoor pool(s), Airport shuttle, Fitness center, Pool(s), Business center, Self-service laundry, Internet access, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Accessible parking, Roll-in shower
  9. I wanted to be in Santa Cruz near the water and not in the Scotts Valley area. There are 3 adults so I am limited to Hotwire at this point. Using the Biddinghelper button I found a 2.5 hotel on Hotwire Secret Rate for $82 (if I remember right.) A little thing popped up that said the last hotel that won at that rate was the Best Western. I usually bid at 3* or better but the hotel sounded okay. The amenities listed were free breakfast & free parking. Yes, I did click the full amenities button and only those two items were listed (though today it looks like the same hotel may have added a business center). I then checked the hotwire easy view and there was a 2.5* with the same amenities for $74. So I went ahead a booked that one. It is the Coastview Inn. This looks like a new hotel for the Hotwire list. We are currently there and it is a clean hotel right across the street from the boardwalk and the beach. There are lots of restaurants and entertainment within walking distance and the front desk guy is very helpful. As a bonus there is a small pool though it's fairly sheltered so Its probably in the shade most of the day. We aren't staying long and are very happy with our choice. Thank you Betterbidding! :)

Subtotal: $55.00 Taxes and Service Fees: $13.83 Total Charges*: $68.83 Note: We stayed in a condo at the Running Y Ranch about 15 years ago. 14. Thanks for the info; that's a great hint! I'll have to look into having HOTWIRE notify when the price drops next time. I was bidding for the same area & weekend but quit at $45. I ended up getting a priceline win farther south which I think will actually work out better for me.
  15. I used the Betterbidding PRICELINE link and started my bid at $45 thinking I might get the Holiday Inn like the last few people have reported. I was accepted at the Hilton Garden Inn right off. It isn't on the list of hotels for this area so someone may want to add it. 3* Hilton Garden Inn Eugene/Springfield Indoor or Outdoor Pool, Business Center, Guest Score 8/10 or Higher Room Subtotal: $45.00 Taxes and Fees: $12.37 Total Room Cost:$57.37 (FYI- I called the hotel to see if I could get a room with 2 queen beds and was told the hotel doesn't allow this for Priceline wins on weekends. I DO know Priceline is only guaranteed for 2 people and it is up to the hotel. I just wanted to share in case others were interested.)

  20. 3* Bellingham Best Western Lakeway Inn I started my bid at $50 for a 3* hotel in Bellingham. Was rejected but said I could rebid right away for $15 more. I saw on another post where someone said Priceline will almost always accept 1/2 way between what you offer and the $15 more rebid... so I decided to wait until the next day to bid again. The second day I bid $58 and was rejected again but was offered the instant rebid of $15 more. Since I needed the room the next day and wouldn't have time to bid again, I rebid for $15 more ($73) and it was accepted. I probably should have originally started at $60 which is what most people were getting (or started bidding days earlier) but oh well, live and learn. By the way, I was really wanting a room with 2 beds. I saw a couple of posts that people were able to get a room with 2 beds at this hotel and they had bid through Priceline. I figured if we got a single maybe they would let us pay the difference for a double. No problem though, the room they game us had 2 double beds. Thanks Priceline!
