  1. Amenities: Free parking, Free Internet, Indoor pool(s), Pool(s), Fitness, Restaurant(s), Hi-speed Internet, Spa
  2. I can confirm that the listing was for the actual Inn part in the main building.
  3. The Le Meridien was a pleasant surprised as I was expecting The Hilton. The hotel has previously been a Park Hyatt so the hard product is excellent. $218 incl tax and fees. Looking at other hotels/prices for these dates I'd say this is one of the better deals I've ever had from Priceline. Bid History: 1st Financial District - Embarcadero: $90 WIN I almost regret I didn't try lower but that's just silly of me...
  4. That's me being sloppy again. Dates should be 8th May-9th May.
  5. Another slam dunk thanks to the information available at this site, maybe not in price but with regard to the place I was looking for. I used the site link. Amenities: Free InternetBoutique HotelNear BeachFitness CenterPool(s)Restaurant(s)Business CenterGolf NearbySpa Services
  6. Right! Forgot about the amenities, sorry about that. I'll be sure to update this thread when I've completed my stay . Don't hesitate to remind me though. 7. Pretty easy to call it with the help of this site. Used the link. One thing though... in previous reports here on the forum the place has been named as the Apple Farm Inn. Now the confirmation said only Apple Farm. This concerns me somwehat as it means we could in theory be put in the motel Apple Farm Court across the street which is nowhere as nice.
  8. I think it's very likely that this hotel also has Pet Friendly as an Amenity.
  9. Looked at this on HOTWIRE the other day and then sealed the deal on PRICELINE for that same price. Extremely likely to be Sheraton.
  10. Well how about that? I was pinching myself when I first a Midtown Central 4* on HOTWIRE for $156 on these dates. The closest secodn in the area was up for $300+ on Expedia and similar. Got it down to a total $152 (incl. taxes/fees) with the $120 bid. Since this was my first bid in the area it's even possible that it could go down to $115 or $110. Anyhow, I used the betterbidding PRICELINE link as always and here's the bid history: 1st bid: $120 - Midtown East 2nd bid: $120 - Midtown East, Midtown West Let me know if I forgot some input.
  11. Don't know if it's available on Priceline but here's one I know. Ritz-Carlton Fort Lauderdale $32/day Reminds me of the line in The Dictator movie. "$20 for wi-fi!? And they call me an international criminal!"
  12. Total ended up at $191. Pretty pleased with this since I'm a Marriott Gold (my policy is to use Priceline when not on company dime). Had some issues with the betterbidding PRICELINE link at first (wouldn't load) but I came through in the end.
  13. A $42 breakfast? I've got to try that when I'm in Rome in May...
  14. Just for the record, I rescheduled my plans due to some pressing business in the Midwest so I won't be visiting NYC in January. Sadly. :-(
  15. I'm looking to go a little off the beaten path this time and look at the ESB or Central Park South area. In the ESB area I'm curious about the Morgans hotel, but want to avoid the Kitano. In the CPS south are I'd like the Loews or Le Meridien but wouldn't want to end up at Renaissance hotel 57 (in my mind it's still a 3.5*). I guess I'll have to hazard these risks though. I'm looking at starting my bidding at $85. Does that sound reasonable? When the time comes to bid (My dates are currently 95% sure, will be 100% later this week) I will definitely use the BB PRICELINE links to place my bid!
  16. I have to ask, did you go for a 3* or 4*? I like the MTE area but would rather avoid the roosevelt if I could by bidding 4*.
  17. The dates in the thread subject are not entirely correct. Should be 12-13 of December.
  18. So I ended up going for a split. In the end I only booked the night of the 12th with PL. Grand Hyatt at $150, first bid. I guess the earlier bidding got me jaded and should have gone lower.
  19. Brutal. That's what this stay is going to be, I'd change the stop over in NYC if I could. My failed bidding history: $200 - MTE $210 - +Brooklyn $220 - +Coney Island $230 - +Long Island $180 - + Downtown/Soho (I kinda went backward hear since MTE was my #1 territory but I switched target to Dowtown) $190 - +Madison Square Garden $200 - +Upper East Side $210 - +Empire State Building Area $230 - +MTW $250 - +Chelsea I'll give it a shot again tomorrow, but at this rate I might just bookrack rate with GoldPoints+ whereI have status to gain some points. I'm also seriously considering splitting the stay.
  20. Shame! Still I would appreciate a bidding strategy. Since my dates are set I will HAVE to get a room and must adjust my budget accordingly.
  21. I need some advice on a bidding strategy for 4* hotels in New York City (Manhattan) for the 11-13th of December. From what I've understood 5* hotels are no longer available in NYC otherwise these should be in the running as well. I'm gunning for $150/night tops, but since I'll be able to bid basically everyday I'm hoping to start far lower. The areas that I'm interested in (descending order) are: Midtown East Empire State Building Area Midtown West <large gap> Downtown/SoHo Naturally I'm going to use the Betterbidding link for my booking when the time comes!
  22. Downtown is fine, not my most desired zone but it gets the job done. My dates are 90% likely to be 5th May - 15th May. Thanks for the link, I'll have to read up on that.
  23. I'm heading to New York for the sixth time of my life in the spring of 2011, most likely early May. With such early warning I figured that I'm positively going to get the very beast deals available for my stay. Thing is though that I’m planning to stay for 7-10 nights. From what I’ve read on the forum booking a stay for so many nights in a row is not advisable on PRICELINE / HOTWIRE. So I need some advice on how to chop up my stay. My budget is around $200 / night which I’m hoping would work for 4* and up. My zone preference is generally anything in level with or south of Central Park.
