  1. Just wanted to point out that you can get assigned a room that displeases you no matter what type of booking service you use. You can politely ask for a room change if that happens. I stayed at the Hyatt Maui through priceline and they were able to honor all my requests for non-smoking, two beds and high floor. We were lucky enough to get a full ocean view to boot.
  2. I really enjoy my netflix subscription. It's a great service.
  3. The last time I parked at John Wayne I used their remote parking lot and it was $12 per day. http://www.ocair.com/parking/directions.htm
  4. San Diego is a great place to visit all months of the year. http://www.signonsandiego.com/visitorsguide/
  5. I've stayed at the Sommerset Suites and although it considers itself a 3*, the priceline 3*'s are much better and the downtown zone is closer to the CC. You might think about bidding higher for a 3* on priceline before going to your back up. Good luck.
  6. It's easy to check the tkts web site to see what shows have been coming up half price. http://www.tkts.com/tkts/broadway.html Also, I really didn't care for the Blue Man Group show when I saw it in Vegas. To each his own.....
  7. Way to bid. Be sure to look for the ghost of Marilyn Monroe: http://www.seeing-stars.com/Hotels/Hollywo...Roosevelt.shtml
  8. I don't have the date but my friend bid $89 for a 3* in the Hollywood zone and got the Renaissance. They loved it.
  9. We stayed at the Hyatt La Jolla recently and it's a solid 4* property. The hotel was able to honor my requests for a nonsmoking room with two beds on a high floor. We found street parking very close to the hotel and avoided the $20 per night parking charge. The only thing we didn't like is the pool is shared with the health club. Over half the pool was roped off for lap lanes. The hot tub was scalding hot. The pool area was not a friendly set up for children. We had a good dinner at Trophy's nearby and a spectacular breakfast at The Brockton Villa (two hour wait but well worth it).
  10. I put your dates in hotwire's vacation package and the 5* Kapalua Bay Hotel comes up with different ammenities: Resort, Beachfront, Rest, Pool, Fitness, Business, Golf, Tennis
  11. Tour San Diego on a Segway: http://www.seawayrentals.com/tourandrental.html
  12. You have six nights in Vegas, have you considered staying in more than one hotel? I've seen Mystere, "O" and Celine Dion. All are fantastic and well worth the high ticket prices.
  13. I just want to point out that the Bel Age comes up on priceline at the last minute - you may have to wait until about two weeks before your stay to get a sucessful bid. Everytime I go to LA I try for the Bel Age but then settle for the Hyatt because I want to get my stay finalized.
  14. We are attending a taping of Oprah at 5:00am the morning after the Acadamy Awards. Dressy attire is required :) Must go shopping....

  16. We tried priceline first. My friend bid up to $60 for a 4* on priceline before we did a hotwire check. The Hilton Costa Mesa is rated 3* on priceline and 4* on hotwire.
  17. This was a 4* Customer Favorite with the following ammenities: Shuttle, restaurant, pool, fitness, business center. When I pulled up the dates another time it came up at $58 and was not the customer favorite.

  20. To summarize when bidding for the strip zone: If you are bidding 5*, every other zone is a free rebid. If you are bidding 4* DO NOT bid any zone with a resort as you can be upgraded to a resort in that zone. Avoid bidding 3* unless you will be happy at the Riviera. YUCK!
  21. Hotel Name: Hilton Burbank Airport And Convention Center 2500 Hollywood Way Burbank, California 91505-1019 818-843-6000 Your Offer Price: $47.00 Number of Rooms: 2 Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: $94.00 Taxes and Service Fees: $18.72 Total Charges: $112.72
  22. San Diego has a half price ticket venue for local theatrical productions that have unsold tickets. The tickets are offered on the afternoon of the day prior to the show. There is a half price ticket booth in front of Horton Plaza downtown but even better, you can buy many of these ticket on-line. Go to www.sandiegoperforms.com and click on the Art-Tix link. All of the shows at the Old Globe in Balboa Park are wonderful as are shows at the La Jolla Playhouse. Many family friendly productions are offered. Enjoy.
