  1. I went to www.biddingforhotelrooms.com put in Seattle, WA and my dates and it brings me to the regular Priceline website. Am I doing something wrong (ad blocks are turned off), in the wrong spot, or something else? Thanks,
  2. Thanks for the offer to help. I will hopefully firm up dates within the next week or so and then post back here.
  3. I am considering going to Yucatan, particularly Merida around May 25-30. There doesnt appear to be any posts in that area since 2011. Does anyone know of an updated hotel list or more recent bid results?
  4. First time bidding on a car rental. Initial bid was $11 for standard size. The offer was not accepted but they gave me a free rebid which had to be $14+, so I passed on that offer. Next was $11 for a midsize which was accepted by Hertz! Rental: $33 Fees: $45 Total: $78 The cheapest price on priceline was $34 for midsize (savings of 68%), Hotwire had a special for $16.95 (savings of 35%). Priceline said that I saved 76%. Very happy with the deal I got! :D
  5. I will be traveling to Kansas City next week and am trying to come up with my bidding strategy. The new hotel list areas don't match up with the Priceline bidding regions - there are 16 Priceline areas for KC but only 10 areas in the hotel list. What hotels/star ratings are available in Platte City and Leavenworth? The Airport hotel list is lumped into one area but I dont know which ones are Airport (MCI) or Airport South. Thanks for your help!
  6. After a handful of bids in the Ohare north and south regions, I ended up with the Radisson Chicago O'Hare on 7/18 for $56. Lowest price on the hotel website is $177. :)
  7. 1 - 4* Millennium Park $62 2 - 4*, 3.5* Millennium Park $66 3 - 4* Millennium Park, Hyde Park $69 4 - 4* Millennium Park, Hyde Park, North MI Ave $70 5 - 4*, 3.5* North MI Ave $68 6 - 4*, 3.5* North MI Ave, Hyde Park $73 7 - 4*, 3.5*, 3* Millennium Park $70 Current price on Hotels.com for the Essex is $124 for those nights, so I saved $54 or 44%!
  8. when I look at the Priceline hotel list and integrate it into what you are saying above, the bidding would look like this, correct? Select 4* NMA... Bid $75, if rejected add re-bid zone (Hyde Park)... Bid $80, if rejected add re-bid zone (Midway MDW)... Bid $85, if rejected add re-bid zone (Skokie)... Bid $90, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINE Select 4* Loop... Bid $75, if rejected add re-bid zone (Hyde Park)... Bid $80, if rejected add re-bid zone (Midway MDW)... Bid $85, if rejected add re-bid zone (Skokie)... Bid $90, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINE Select 4* NMA and Loop... Bid $95, if rejected add re-bid zone (Hyde Park)... Bid $100, if rejected add re-bid zone (Midway MDW)... Bid $105, if rejected add re-bid zone (Skokie)... Bid $110, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $115, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $125 I didnt see Franklin Park, Lincoln Park or Midway Airport North on the hotel list. Do I have that correct? I am looking for 2 rooms in NMA or the Loop area for 7/16-18 Thanks!
  9. I was hoping to get a 2* or better hotel in downtown DSM or near the airport. I added Ankeny since the hotel list had only a 3* and I use that as a free bid on hotels in my desired areat. I ended up with a 2* Super 8 in Ankeny for $49/night, which is only $3 less than the rate on any number of hotel websites. Reviews on this hotel at various sites are mediocre at best with many negative comments. I really hope the reviews are worse than the hotel actually is. From all of my Priceline hotel experiences this is my least successful in terms of amount saved off of the cheapest published rates.
  10. This one isnt on the Priceline hotel list. The Holiday Inn website has this room for $94+/night, so priceline saved me 45%. :)
  11. 3 bids.. 1. Downtown DSM, $43 at 3*. 2. Added Airport, $48 3. Lowered to 2.5*, $51. Accepted. Price for those dates through the hotel website is $106/night. I wasn't expecting to have anything accepted near the airport on that last bid. The hotel list doesnt have the Holiday Inn or any 2.5* properties for the Airport area. From the Priceline "you won" page.... Amenities: Business services, Remote control TV w/ premium channels, Radio Alarm Clock, Iron and ironing board, Hairdryer, Telephone w/ voicemail, 24 hour front desk
  12. Thanks for the info. I guess the strategy would be to win a hotel and then call to ask about upgrading and the cost involved. If they wouldnt do that, then no big deal.
  13. There are a few hotels in an area where I would like to stay that have suites. If I bid/win a NYOP with priceline on a regular king/double room, is there any way to upgrade to a suite? Or is it possible to bid on a suite directly?
  14. I am going to be traveling to the Orlando, FL area later this month (19-29th), flying into Orlando-Sanford (SFD) and not MCO. Id like to use Priceline for a car rental, but the only pick-up options Priceline gives are MCO and Downtown/Disney. Is it possible to put in MCO as the pick-up and then call the company and say Id like to pick up the car at Sanford?
  15. 3* Kansas City Airport, Four Points by Sheraton Bid $55 and didnt get anything for Downtown, so I included the airport region and got the Sheraton. Same day bidding.
  16. Just got a 3 star reservation at the Park Plaza Bloomington for $78 + tax for this Saturday night (Sept 10). I searched for Downtown and the MOA area. 4460 West 78th Street Circle Bloomington, Minnesota 55435 952-831-3131
  17. 4* Magnificent Mile - Wacker Drive Customer Favorite Amenities: Restaurant, Fitness center, Business center Based on the descriptions on this forum, I was figuring that the hotel was the Hyatt Regency. You guys were dead on! Hyatt Regency Chicago 3/20 - 3/24 $81 per night I checked the Hyatt website and the lowest price I found was AAA for $155/night. Thank you guys for helping me get a great hotel and save over $70 per night! Now Ill really be able to take my wife (it'll be our honeymoon) out to some great dinners! Any suggestions on places to eat?
