  6. Ran out of time before flight so couldn't bid, arrived at MIA airport and just booked the sofitel from the airport. I would recommend the sofitel, nice art deco foyer, bar area, pool, rooms are good, comfy bed, the concierge arranged for a car to take us to a cuban restaurant around the corner and picked us up again.
  7. Hotwire: $74 4* MIA Amenities: Shuttle, Fitness, Pool, Restaurant, Business, Hi-Speed Internet Recommended 90% reviews Any idea which hotels this is?
  8. OH THANKS!! I didn't know it worked like that, makes it easy to check. I put down 3.5* REBID 4* REBID for zones without 3.5* or 4* REBID hotels. Aventura 3.5* REBID 4* REBID Coral Gables - Coconut Grove Dadeland 3.5* REBID 4* REBID Miami Airport West Miami Beach Miami Downtown Miami International Airport (MIA) Miami Lakes - Hialeah 4* REBID Miami West 3.5* REBID 4* REBID North Miami 3.5* REBID 4* REBID North Miami Beach South Beach - Central South Beach - Collins Avenue Oceanfront South Beach - Ocean Drive Southwest Miami 3.5* REBID 4* REBID I guess I don't have specific hotels in question, hilton seemed to get pretty poor reviews, just not that familiar with these hotels and how they are comparable, and whether the known 4* are just as good as 3.5* as their retail prices are not that different.
  9. Would you recommend the hotels in the 4* zone or 3.5* zone? There seems to be mixed reviews on 4* sounding rooms outdated. Can you advise the re-bid zones for 4* and 3.5*hotels?
  10. Can you suggest which 4* hotels have been reported lately on priceline? If it is likely the Hilton on Hotwire, would it be likely Hilton on priceline? Thanks
  11. I used the BB HOTWIRE link to check hotels Looking at bidding on priceline for 4* Miami Intl Airport (MIA) 1 night 06/10/11...06/11/11 Looks like four hotels on priceline - Hilton, Intercontinental, Marriott, Sofitel Median price $119 Where do you suggest to start bidding? Do you know of any recent winning bids? Likely hotels won? Looking at maximum bid $75 if hotwire has $81. Hotwire: $81 Amenities: Shuttle, Fitness, Pool, Restaurant, Business, Laundry (Self Serve), Hi-Speed Internet, Golf nearby, Tennis nearby Recommended 75% reviews Could this be the Sofitel - though doesn't mention children activities
  12. I wanted to extend my stay, previously won bid for Westin Copley Place $145 for 18/6-21/6 three nights. I used the BB PRICELINE link to bid on 4* Copley Square-Theatre District starting at $115, using re-bid zones 120, 125, 135, 140, 143, 145. Won the Westin at $145 (same as previous bid), I was trying lower as the full rate through priceline was cheaper on the 17th than on 18th-21st, but am happy to get the same hotel, so don't have to move after the first night. It gave me the option to extend my stay at the same rate but I already have that done! The Westin Copley Place 4 Star Copley Square - Theatre District Check-In Date: Fri, Jun 17, 2011 / After 04:00 PM Check-Out Date: Sat, Jun 18, 2011 / 12:00 PM Amenities: Remote control TV w/ premium channels Telephone w/ voicemail Radio Alarm Clock Iron and ironing board Hairdryer Business services 24 hour front desk Full Service Restaurant Room service Bellman Concierge Fitness center access Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $145.00 Subtotal: $145.00 Taxes & Fees: $29.80 Total Charges*: $174.80

Please close this thread. As I didn't receive a response, I booked AA.com direct Fare MBJ-MIA oneway $100+tax.
  14. I bid up to 160/night on priceline, no luck and that was for 2 rooms, so was starting to be more expensive than hotwire. As I leave in a couple of weeks, want to get it sorted, and seeing the price go up, just went ahead and booked hotwire, as I wanted to stay at the W, it's not a big saving off the prepaid rate but is off the full rate for three people with two queen beds. (The three people bumps up the price from 184 to 240) W Hollywood $US240/night + $78.41 = $US279.21/night W Hollywood Hotel and Residences Upscale See ratings guide Address:6250 Hollywood Boulevard, CityStateZip:Hollywood, CA, 90028 Phone:(323) 798-1300 Check-in CheckInDate:Wed, Jun 29, 2011 CheckOutDate:Fri, Jul 1, 2011 Amenities Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center High-Speed Internet Access Spa Services NoOfAdults:3 Rooms: 1
  15. I have been regularly bidding up to 140, and on a couple of days up to 155, with no luck, doesn't seem priceline has inventory, and haven't seen any recent wins in hollywood The hotwire rate for three people just went up today from 219 to 240. The rate the hotel quoted me for three people is 359 and the fully pre-paid rate for three people is 279.

    MIA-MBJ

Hi, I have never bidded on flights on priceline before, so wondering if you could help. I will use the BB PRICELINE link. "While priceline always searches for non-stop flights first, you must agree to make at least one connection each way (unless otherwise specified). We determine the connection time in conjunction with the best routing and frequency of service for the price you requested." "The airlines will choose your flight times. Your trip may start anytime from 5am on your travel dates to as late as 2am the next day, and may arrive anytime on the day after departure." Flying MIA-MBJ the cheapest and direct flights showing on priceline are with AA $499 including tax, 1hr35min. However, priceline also shows MIA-MBJ with 1 stop double the price with US Airways $906 including tax anywhere from 6hr to 20hr, because of absurd connections. My question is - is it likely on priceline flight bids to receive a flight with one stop which is double the price, rather than the cheaper direct flight taking 1hr 35min? How much discount do people usually get on flights, and at what price would it be best to start bidding? I don't want to bid if there is a high risk of getting US Airways flight that will be 20 hours in duration, when it should only be 1hr35min flight. Thanks.
  18. I didn't end up bidding on Priceline, as I didn't want to risk ending up with a hotel in the Financial district. Most of the hotels I saw come up were in the wall st area. If only priceline split downtown soho and financial district I think a lot of people would be happier :) Thanks for all your advice throughout. I booked directly with the Sheraton Tribeca hotel. Can you please close this thread. Thanks.
  19. Thanks, that was it. I didn't take into account my final bid and the time it takes to go through that process. I will keep trying bids on PRICELINE as you suggested and see if I have any luck over the next couple of weeks. Yesterday no luck bidding up to 140.
  20. Thanks for your tips. When am I allowed to bid again at a lower price, considering my final bid was $155. I tested it out 24 hours since my last bid, trying a lower bid and it says it is a duplicate request, or would it be because I am exactly not 24 hours, can't remember the exact time I made the last bid. Thanks,
  21. Bidded 2 rooms 2 nights 6/29/11-7/1/11 4* Los Angeles (Hollywood) $140 rejected, 4* Los Angeles (Hollywood) added re-bid $145 rejected, 4* Los Angeles (Hollywood) added re-bid $150 rejected 4* Los Angeles (Hollywood) added re-bid $155 rejected I don't know if it is worth bidding higher? $174 on hotwire for 2 adults, $219 for three adults I don't know if this is such a good deal as it is just one room, with taxes $260. Might wait for any changes? Any idea when inventory is refreshed at all? Was hoping for the W.
  22. I just noticed on Hotwire IN 29 June OUT 1 JUL 4* Hollywood - $219 - 3 people 4* Hollywood - $174 - 3 people SMOKE FREE ROOMS FITNESS CENTER POOLS RESTAURANTS BUSINESS CENTER HIGH-SPEED INTERNET SPA Recommended in 90% of customer reviews Would this be the W Hollywood? Considering Hotwire 1 room for 3 people, guaranteeing 2 beds, for $219+tax (ie. $73+tax/ 3 people) versus Priceline 2 rooms, 1 bed each, next bid $140+tax ($70 shared room, 140 one room) not sure whats best?? The hotwire rate drop a little since I last looked.
