  1. I am doing research for a hotel in downtown Sarasota and noticed that this 3* hotel is not listed. I am almost positive it is the Aloft hotel because of amenities, especially pet-friendly. Do we have enough information to add it to the list?

    Note that Downtown Sarasota is a fairly easy read due to current lack of Hotels, especially with pet friendly filter on. 4* is Hyatt, 3.5 is Indigo and 3 is Aloft. Note however that the Aloft is the only one that does NOT charge a 100 pet fee although it has the highest parking fees.

  3. Trying to determine this hotel for 4/7/2016 in Pinellas Park. Full amenities are:

    100% recommended.

    Need to determine hotel in order to see what the pet fee is which I am pretty sure is not included in the 88/night.

  5. I decided to take the quick route and sure thing via Hotwire. Price was dropping in last few days - 155 to 152 to 148.

I am wondering if I should try my hand at bidding the 4.5 and 5 star hotels in Rittenhouse Square on Priceline or just select the 4.5* option on Hotwire which is the Sofitel Hotel for 152 per night (pet friendly, 95% approval...). Both the 4.5 and 5 star on Priceline have identical amenities, Swimming pool, pets allowed, fitness center and business center and 8+ rating.  I am thinking the 4.5 is the Sofitel but what is the 5*?

After a few more emails and two innaffective calls with Priceline about this reservation, the bottom line is this, Priceline is ok about providing substandard hotels when you book via Name Your Own Bid. They don't read their own customer's review and they claim they can't do "anything" if there is a problem since this is a non-refundable reservation.  When I told Manuel that I will have my credit card company refute the charges, don't worry about the refund, the question now is do they want to keep a loyal customer.  Their answer, "I'm sorry, we can't do anything." Great - time to move on.

  8. Warning!!! After winning this hotel I researched the reviews and noticed numerous subpar reviews and complaints regarding bed bugs. I promptly contacted Priceline asking what I should do and this was their response:

    We apologize that you are unhappy with your hotel accommodations. We do evaluate each participating hotel on many different criteria,including cleanliness, guest satisfaction, décor, etc. We are sorry to hear that this hotel falls short of your expectations. We contacted the hotel and spoke with Mr Patel (Front Desk). The hotel informed  us that they are infested with bed bugs however, they have changed the bedding in all the rooms and by the time of your checkin

    date all the bedding will be completely changed hence, you will not face any inconvenience during your reservation.

    If you do find that you experience problems while at this hotel and the front desk is unable to assist, please contact our Customer Service department for further assistance.
