  1. I have been bidding all week for a 2 or 3 star in Downtown Vancouver up to $80 ( using $10 bonus cash) Today I decided to add in entertainment District and got Executive Hotel Vintage Park Hotel @ $80 after starting @ $60 and working my way up in $5 increments. I previously won this hotel for a priceline stay earlier in the same week for $67. I am wondering how worthwhile the bonus cash really is. If I hadn't used it, would I have won the bid at $70. Considering I won at $67 without any kind of Bonus cash I'm thinking Priceline just ups its acceptance level by $10 whenever you enter in the bonus cash.
  2. Hi I was hoping someone could help me figure which hotel this might be in Vancouver Dntn West 3 1/2 stars. Amenities include Smoke free, Fitness center, pool, restaurant, business center, laundry, internet and tennis Thanks so much Hotwire price is $95 for July 17 weekend
  3. Just glad I can contribute something back to the forum!
  4. Just found this coupon code for Priceline. It will give you up to $50 off a "name your own price" booking. They will knock off $10 a night with a 3* or better booking. I just tried it and I have the reward sitting in my "My rewards" tab under my profile. The code is IMISSU and here is the link: http://travela.priceline.com/budgettravel/?
  5. Hi Started bidding @ $50 and made my way up to $65. Then was offered a room for $15 more so I rebid using a free rebid @$67 and got it. Cheapest web rate $139 plus taxes. My PRICELINE total $85.15
  6. Have been bidding the last couple of days starting in the mid $50's finally accepted today @ $59 Total= 74.63
  7. I bid using the Entertainment $10 coupon so I couldn't use the link. Sorry :) Started bidding at $35 and went up in $2 increments. I had 16 rebids available to me. Reached $59 and Bingo got the Holiday Inn river center. Ended up being $49 when you subtract the Entertainment Coupon. With taxes etc $59.25 per night. Regular rates for those nights $122 inc taxes. gotta be happy with %50 off :) I wonder how much the $10 coupon actually helps though. The cynic in me wonders if they just accept your bid $10 higher than if you hadn't used the coupon.
  8. Got this puppy first bid $60 ($74.63 with taxes etc.) regular rate from their web site for this night $179. I saw (thanks to this great web site) that the lowest winning bid for this hotel was $59 and with it being the weekend i figured $60 was low balling it. I was wrong! I don't imagine I was far off the mark though.
  9. Well after weeks of bidding and no success I finally got G.N. for $52. Yesterday while bidding up to $45 I got offered a room for $58 by Priceline (up until then I had been always been offered @$78) So I knew that things were starting to look up. I bid in $1 increments up to $50 and ran out of rebids. Today I started @ $45 and received the same offer. I jumped to 50 next, then 51 and at $52 SUCCESS! Man that was a lot of work to save $12! Definitely not a lot of really big savings in Vegas. I have done a lot better everywhere else I have bid (usually 40 or 50% off rack rates) 4* Las Vegas (Downtown) Golden Nugget $52 ... 5/08/10-5/09/10 Thanks to everyone for their insights and help. As always I used the links to bid.
  10. I guess I will keep trying and hope that some inventory pops up sometimes soon. thanks for the input.
  11. Well its been a few weeks now and I have been bidding daily starting at $40 and working my way up as high as $57 which puts me just a few dollars less than the Golden Nugget's rate of $69 for that night. I notice that on the Priceline page where you first enter your bid it says "median price in this area is $69" (Sometimes it says $88) Every time after I bid, it offers me the "Great Deal" of $74 ($5 more than rack rate???) I don't understand why it is, that I cannot seem to get a hotel here for this night for any thing under rack rate?
  12. Started at $35 Used Lawndale as a free rebid and bid $37 Still no go Added Culver city @ $40 Priceline offered me the room for an additional $12 so I knew I was getting close. Combined Culver and Lawndale @ $41 Again the offer for $12 more I added Santa Monica knowing/hoping that I would not be getting a 3.5* there for $42 and voila Crowne Plaza for $42 plus fees = $55.24 :)
  13. Started at $70 Priceline offered me another crack at it for $22 more. I declined Started again with free rebid @ $75 Free parking, free internet and the going rate was $169 -$189 Pretty happy
  14. Sorry there is no way to zero in on specific properties and excalibur doesn't show up on any wins in the past so it doesn't appear to be a hotel offered in the name your own price feature of PRICELINE.
  15. Thanks so much I will try PRICELINE again today and start a little higher. (The $69 rate was on the golden Nugget web site)
  16. Hi I have been bidding the last few days for 4* dwntwn vegas Hotel May 8-9. I am expecting/hoping for the Golden nugget. Using my free rebids I have worked my way up to 45$ with no luck. At the $40 mark I was offered " a great deal." Priceline will give me the 4* hotel right away for $74. So I declined and went back and rebid up to $45 until I ran out of rebids. What I don't understand is that the rack rate for that day at the Golden nugget is $69. $5 cheaper than the great deal offered by Priceline. So does anyone have any experience as to how close I have to bid up to the $74 before I can get it. Also isn't this a bit of underhandedness on Pricelines part offering a so called deal well over the rack rate when they advertise %40 discount. This offer of theirs is a 7% premium. The Buggers!! Thanks so much everyone!!
  17. yes I thought I had blown it and would have to stay way out in Coral Springs but my wife persuaded me to phone and try to cancel. "what have you got to lose" So i did and they were quite good about it. Refunded everything except for 1 night stay + $25 cancellation fee. Told me I would get the one night fee back if and when I rebid and won. Which i did. Cost me $25 plus a nice dinner for my wife :)
  18. Forgot about the resort fees. :) Free happy hour + free bikes though
  19. I was bidding on 3 1/2 * Hollywood hotels and using free rebids up to $85 when i inadvertently hit the 3* button and got Coral springs Marriot. OOOPS!!! I phoned Priceline and explained what happened and they canceled the reservation -$25 cancellation fee. Learned my lesson. Always double check before you hit submit!!
  20. This was a steal of a deal. beautiful hotel offering full breakfast, heated pool, small beach with beautiful sunsets. Wet bar with fridge, Microwave and coffee maker. nicest 2* i have ever stayed in! I believe this hotel was the former HoJo and then Key Largo Resort at Manatee Bay.
