  1. I got this one on my third bid. The previous bid was 46. With taxes it all came to 65.63
  2. I just wanted to update the parking fee, I stayed here last weekend. They are now charging $61.00 a night to park your car. If you are staying you also need to call housekeeping and tell them "no knocking early". Housekeeping was knocking on the door at 8 am on a Saturday, I was less then thrilled.
  3. I got this one last week too. I was really disappointed, but they did give me a really nice room with a view. The parking fee was killer, $61.00 a night.
  4. I was desperate. Last minute traveling during a holiday makes you make bold moves! I am really worried about this place. I will try and remember to post back and write a review. Features: Smoke Free Rooms Complimentary Breakfast Pool(s) Business Center Golf Nearby Tennis Nearby This one, as well as the St. George, one I just posted are new to the pinned Hotwire Hotel list.
  5. Posted via the HOTWIRE links on the forum! Hotel features are breakfast, pool and high speed internet.
  6. Dang, I am out of practice posting here. Sorry about that. Best Western Grand Canyon Square Inn
  7. It was my first bid, so maybe I could have gone lower. You only have a couple of bid chances, and I did not want Williams.
  8. Again, my sincere appreciation to this site, I followed the tips I found here and saved over $80 a ticket from what I found online.
  9. I did not post this earlier, because I thought I would likely not stay. 2* is as good as it gets in Fort Bragg. This may be a new listing, I had no idea what I would get, it is not on the hotel list here. Anyway, I have to say, ignore the nasty reviews! We had a really nice room (106), there were 2 separate bedrooms, giving me a place to store my stuff and another to sleep. The rooms were spacious, clean and well appointed. The bathroom had nice tile floors, and the sink was granite. The rooms were very clean, with wainscotting on the walls, comfy beds and a great television. There was also a small safe and refrigerator in the room. Breakfast was nothing to write about, but free coffee, OJ and a danish.
  10. I was going to make a thread, but this one is new enough. I picked up this same reservation for 51 a night. It was my first bid, which I sort of hate, maybe I could have gotten it for less! Reservation made via savingsbarn.com
  11. Which hotel? I need a room at Fishermans Wharf and am researching prior to bidding.
  12. This promotion seems to be over, it was $25 with free shipping.
  13. I am having some trouble placing a bid on car rental. I am going to the "name your own price link", which is a java pop-up. I fill out all of the informtion (dates and place) and then get booted over to the standard pricing list, which is about the same as the websites. I have won bids on cars in the past, so I can't figure out what I am doing wrong. I may not have bid since they changed their format, it used to be bids only. I have tried both through savingsbarn.com and priceline.com
  14. My initial bid was $46, and I was offered a room at $56, which I declined to bid again. (yah, I am very tight with the buck). I will post again after my stay. Your Offer Price: $51.00 Extend Your Stay Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 2 Subtotal: $102.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $20.78 Total Charges*: $122.78 I am sorry thereyouare, I completely forgot to use savingsbarn.com! I will next time, I should start traveling often again.
  15. I took advantage of this offer a couple of weeks ago for a 3 night stay. They had a special "hotwire" room, 201. It was more like a closet. We asked for an upgrade, which we paid an additional $15 for ($5 a night). The upgraded room had a king size bed, nice view (for Morro Bay) and was large and very comfortable. There was also a balcony, which the Hotwire Room did not have. This is a great deal, especially including the breakfast. They had a nice selection of yoguarts, cereals, pastries and oatmeal. A wide variety of teas were available all day.
  16. :) I thought I would update this in regards to the wonderful mini vacation we had. I (rather jokingly) asked for a 2 bedroom suite when I checked in...and they gave us one! No additional charges. The $259 a night suite for $53, you can't beat that! No special memberships, they didn't even ask me any questions, they simply said "OK, enjoy your stay." The staff was just as attentive to us as they would have been to full paying guests, it really made for a more then expected, relaxing stay! I have now converted my friend (who I invited along, my treat) to savingsbarn.com. I was careful to give credit where credit is due! There really is no way I would have figured out how to best use priceline without the great information here! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
  17. I thought I would join the crowd at the Double Tree, as that is all that has been posted lately. I am really happy to have this one! I have stayed here before. I bid through Savings Barn, and won on my fourth and last chance. The previous bid had been $51.
  18. The amenities shown on hot Wire restaurant, pool, fitness and business center. I was really surprised, this placed was sold out the entire time we were there. We got stuck in a smoking room for one night, I forgot to call in advance. The restaurant is not open, it is being remodeled, but there is a very close by restaurant (a few steps) that would charge a room. Room service was also available and the wait was reasonable. The swimming pool is only 3 feet deep. Perfect for kids, but not made for real swimming.
  19. This is last minute, I struck out on Priceline and this and a 1 star were all that hot Wire had available. Not too bad of a deal.
  20. My last rejected bid for Ashland and Medford was $56. Check-In Date: Fri, Jul 1, 2005 Check-In Time: After 03:00 PM Check-Out Date: Sat, Jul 2, 2005 Check-Out Time: 12:00 PM Your Offer Price: $66.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: $66.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $12.88 Total Charges: $78.88
  21. Well, I struck out at 110, for July 12-14th. I have to wait for my next rebid. I was just looking to see what my options are. I must have some place, and I have young kids, so it can't be scary!
  22. Thank you so much for posting! I have been working on this one for awhile and am glad to know the going rate. It is hard to wait 72 for a single bid. I started way too low. I have even bid on 3 * sometimes, I am getting desperate. A daughter wants to be there for her 11th B-day in July.
  23. :) I sort of hate it when I get my first bid, I always am certain I could have done better. I had just finished my bids for 4* in Portland, and given up. I thought to try a couple of 3* and cross my fingers that I did not end up putting my family in a Holiday Inn. Check-In Date: Saturday, July 2, 2005 Check-Out Date: Tuesday, July 5, 2005 Hotel Name: Crowne Plaza Portland Lake Oswego 14811 Kruse Oaks Boulevard Lake Oswego, Oregon 97035 503-624-8400 Your Offer Price: $40.00 Number of Rooms: 2 Number of Nights: 3 Subtotal: $240.00 Taxes and Service Fees: $40.22 Total Charges: $280.22
  24. This is my first post!! I really am grateful for all of the advice I have read here. I am able to enjoy more travel, even though I generally stick to the west coast. There are a couple of posts for this hotel last month, but this weekend is the start of the wine season, with the Wine Road event. I started with Santa Rosa and $50. Rejected. Priceline asked me to bid $14 more, but I opted not to. Added Napa at $55 and it was accepted.
