Just wanted to share my win for the W New York at Lex (ME) for 8/4 to 8/6/12 for $150 per night. I chose 4 star only all the way and bidding was as follows: Midtown East 108 Coney Island 111 Long Island City 114 Times Square 117 Midtown West 120 Central Park South 123 Chelsea 126 Hell's Kitchen 129 Madison Square 132 Empire State 135 Queensborough Bridge 138 Lower East Side 141 Upper East Side 144 Upper West Side 147 Morningside Heights - Harlem 150 Basically, I went though all the areas except for Downtown and Soho where there are a lot of 4 stars as I wanted to stay as near to midtown as possible. I used your PRICELINE link and followed the bidding strategy of others for NY. Thanks, everyone!

We also got free tickets to see Love last year when we stayed at the Aria. The MGM Hotel group also offer free ticket packages. Beatles Love was awesome, by the way.

Hi! We thought we also got a good deal on the Aria via United Vacations. But there's some fine print that you should be aware of. Our quote states "Resort fee not included". This is another $20 per day that covers some extras (hi speed internet, welcome drinks, use of fitness center etc) that they will bill you upon check-out. Just wondering if this was stated on your Priceline invoice? I would think this is standard for their price quotes.

Just wanted to add... I just found out the hotel offers FREE WIFI! Yay! Last time we were in NY, we stayed at the Hilton downtown and Wifi was NOT free... :-( Thanks for the heads up on the room size! I guess we can deal with that.... 8-)

Thank you, betterbidding! It took a number of re-bids but we were able to get a 4* hotel this weekend for 2 nights at $95 @ night. Anything wrong with the Algonquin right now? :) I was reading that all winning bids have been over $105 for 4* hotels in NYC this weekend! In any case, I used the following bids: 4* MTE, MTW $85 Rejected Added Times Square $88 Rejected Added Upper West Side $90 Rejected Added Upper East Side $95 Accepted at the Alqonquin Hotel + Taxes and Fees of $46.34 for a total of $236.34 for 2 nights.
