  1. Free breakfast, Free Internet, Business center, Internet access. Calling this a LaGuardia hotel is pushing it. ($18 Uber to hotel.) In the middle of the huge Chinese community in Flushing. On the plus side: Near subway, staff friendly, great Chinese food nearby and open late to which staff was able to guide us. Room was clean. On the negative side: Dripping water in room above heard for hours in our bathroom. Only two English TV stations on TV. Breakfast minimal (though good coffee). There were definitely long-term guests (saw social workers in breakfast area). If you are smoke-allergic, please note that there are apparently several smoking rooms here (though staff was able to switch us out of one, and there was no odor in the room we got).

  2. Atrocious. Dirty common areas, odor throughout, rust and mold in bathrooms and in common areas, minimal toweling in rooms, rooms not clean (including stained sheets). Avoid at all costs -- we did not stay after a Priceline bid/win. (And thus, do not bid 3* or less in Saddle River.)

  3. For 6/23-25:

3 1/2 * $94/night Free internet, Boutique hotelBusiness centerFitness centerIndoor pool(s)Pool(s)Restaurant(s)Self-service laundry. The Madison being called "boutique"?

4* Resort, $87/night Free parking, Business centerFitness centerIndoor pool(s)Internet accessPet friendlyPool(s)ResortRestaurant(s). Am guessing that this is the Westminster being called a resort, but not sure. That would be stretching "resort," IMO

  4. Ugh. This property (originally a Holiday Inn, stylistically looks like late 70s/early 80s vintage) is undoubtedly the worst 3 1/2 star property since I started using PRICELINE and HOTWIRE. Old, dirty public areas, mold on walls, leaking ceilings, and (per other folks) a gross pool and an awful restaurant. No bed bugs; good wifi and TV -- and that's about the end of the positives. I knew this property was possible when bidding, so I can't gripe -- but I can say you should avoid bidding in this zone if possible to avoid this place. (Note: I got this property bidding at 2 1/2 stars. Again, I knew it was possible going in, knowing the rule that you can always get a property with a higher star rating than your bid.)

  5. Princeton South or Trenton North would fit the zone better, IMO, but it's Priceline's sandbox and they get to name it. (In fact, the hotel name is misleading as well -- the hotel is across the street from the Trenton airport. This is the same property previously known, and listed in your hotel list, as the Courtyard By Marriott Ewing Hopewell, which was a more accurate name.) That said, happy with the deal -- I knew that this hotel was a distinct possibility going in.

  6. Please note that this zone is now Fort Lee-Edgewater; Hackensack is in Hackensack - Paramus - Ridgefield Park zone.

Amenities: Free parking, indoor pool, pool, business center, accessible path, accessible bathroom, free internet, fitness center, restaurant, internet access, in-room accessibility, accessible parking.

Used your HOTWIRE link and got an extra $15 off.

  7. Same hotel (I'm 99% sure) would have been $80 as a PRICELINE EXPRESS Deal. Direct rate via IHG $126. However, the review situation is REALLY odd. PL shows as an 8+, but there are an unusual number of scathing reviews on TripAdvisor and Google, and HIE locations don't usually get trashed in reviews. And looking at Google Maps, it seems this is a conversion from a rather pitiful looking property called the Gold Coast Inn. So there are some concerns here.

  8. I don't see anyplace that shows this zone. The zone is Swedesboro, in NJ -- I am guessing it's a Philly zone, but I looked under NJ, PA and DE and couldn't find it. Could you possibly place appropriately?

    Holiday Inn Philadelphia South-Swedesboro

3*, 8/20-21, $58 ($72.28 with tax rec. charge and fees).

With tax and my AAA discount, direct booking would have been $132.25. (And the Hot.wire price went right up to $101 after I booked!) So good deal!

Booked using BetterBidding HOTWIRE link as always.
