  1. #1) I have gotten the poor Priceline treatment at many hotels including the Holiday INN Express in Milton Florida February 14, 2014. Courtyard Hotels in Lafayette Indiana, etc. Sometimes I call the hotel using their direct line in advance, and make sure the reservation has my elite, ask about special rooms etc. I try to do this when they are not busy. #2) Other times, Hilton in Venice Italy, I was upgraded to Executive Suite with gold status. Marriott Reno. in Palm Springs, I was treated like a queen. with my Gold level status. #3 Roaches. I strongly prefer not to have them in my room. BUT if you do ever encounter one...spray it with hairspray, vinegar or any other liquid. Then change rooms. If you want to feel better in any rental, pretreat rooms with Home Defense. I may do that if I rent a villa or something. I wrap my garbage and take it out of rooms. If you have to stay somewhere. leave your suitcases in car and just take what you need... The reason I Priceline is to avoid the bad bugs, and try to opt for a better level of hotel. I've never had bad bugs in any Priceline hotel. I do due diligence and use Trip Advisor, and other reviews to predetermine if bad bugs are going to be a problem and avoid booking those hotels. *** I did give the HIE a steller review on priceline so they get MORE Priceline guests they disdain. he he he, and appropriate reviews everywhere else.
  2. Hilton Moline Stucky is my educated guess. Hotwire had them for $200...and I got it for around $169 on Priceline for August 25. It is on a different island. The Aililuna (sp) do go directly to Hilton private dock but it is a SLOW ride from airport. The hotel does have a shuttle ro go across to main islands but be smart and buy a water bus pass for when you are there. I did not check the amenities per se...but there are ONLY four or five five star hotels and Hilton is KNOWN on Priceline. Usually That tends to indicate Hotwire. Do NOT expect five star service but do expect big prices. Folks wait 1/2 hour and do NOT get served at the bars at the Hilton. OH..and as NEWBIE...click through this site...when you buy on Priceline or Hotwire..it helps support the site.
  3. 3.5* Orlando (Airport MCO) Marriott Orlando Airport, $49 ... 11/1/2010 -11/2/2010 Taxes and Fees 13.84 total $62.84 Tried to extend but bumped price to $57 and fees to $15.01. This place does charge parking fees.
  4. At Radisson I drive..October 2010 the resort fee was $5 a day. That does include free shuttle to Disney but only at a few times. You can tell by going to priceline and booking the hotel direct...and they will tell fee.Usually the codos or the ones that call themselves resorts might have higher fee. Good luck.
  5. Check the winning bids for the resorts...and also check Hotwire. Bidding early enough give you time to keep rebidding (after 24 hours). Some hotels may not discount early this far out.. Sometimes I quit too early and moved to another zone..when all I needed was a couple dollars more. In your plans don't forget taxes and "resort fees". Good luck. ALSO..sometimes I bid for one night & then extend (if the resort allows) HOWEVER...you are charged more fees to do that.
  6. I just stayed at Radisson at 9444 I drive and it was fine. Tad noisy on Friday night..not as bad Saturday night. I pricelined and won Radisson (not Metropolitan) for $39. and hotel confirmed it was Radisson and not Metro. Stay Oct 15-17 2010. Good luck.. Area was ok, as well. They did nick me for $5 a day resort fee.
  7. Date of stay July 15-17 2010. Pricelined for around $46. They picked out a room for me..but as soon as they saw Priceline the assistant manager immediately (BLATANTLY) switched me to a noisy room by the elevator.. They were extremely unfriendly..never told me where the coffee was in the lobby. (or any amenities). Later they never helped me as I was searching for food in the marketplace. The coffee in room has only two packs of lightener...would have been nice to know there was some in lobby..behind a wall. I've had better service at one star motel 6's and they leave the light on. Hotel amenities: outside courtyard that looks over a water fountain..some lounge chairs and bar stools. hot in Summer. There are two small areas with chairs out front...unshaded. Mostly used by smokers. There is a marketplace that sells a can of soup for $3.50 with a microwave. There is a breakfast and evening informal cafeteria type restaurant". No one uses it. Soup was $3.50 a cup. Great if it is raining. Tasted fine. I had two kinds. came with a cheese bread. No one served me at the "restaurant" either...but it was raining so I decided to go back down and try again. Finally got someone and she was very nice. But they have the hotel set up so the check in can see you and they could be friendly if they wanted to... I stayed at Wingate...at they trained their support staff to be friendly..and go out of their way. The maids here spoke no English..they pushed on carts n front of me..and failed to put soap/toiletries in my room. I had zero soap. Had to go back to front desk..and then after they went in my room...my room key would not work so I had to go back again Just understand..you will get a crappy room and crappy service and unfriendly front desk..Other than that...it was fine. Pillow were very crappy but I love a hard bed. Not much of a three star... Only thing you get is coffee in room (and in lobby if you can find it)... There are a few good of drive to restaurants in area. There is residential housing behind hotel. I filled out a comment card and they never responded..... This is a place that could care less about you. Was very few folks in lobby/lounge/restaurant/outdoor areas..Not much of an atmosphere.
  8. 3* Melbourne $43 March 12-14 2010 ...Holiday Inn Viera right off I-95. Pricelined each night separately. Won one night & was able to extend. Hotel ranked 9.0 out of 10.0 full cost $55.33 with taxes. per night. Hotwire has same (I think) for about $49 it appears...
