  1. I called Iron Horse first - online I could see a 2 queen room for $165 [weekend promo rate]. On the phone, the guy did not even mention that option and quoted a king alcove room with a pull out bed for $285. Was a little disappointed with this. Decided to take a change with HOTWIRE - used the quickquote link above to book - was fairly certain the Iron Horse was the hotel listed. I don't know which room I have though, should I call and ask ? 2. Wanted to add to this. I did find free parking ont he street across the hotel. A little shady but it was ok.
  3. Started at $60. Went to $69. Total is 86.97 for the day. Used the PRICELINE link naturally.
  4. Started at $100 using Strip North. Added Strip south at 120, won Vdara at $125. Dreading the visit as the reviews are mixed. Used PRICELINE links from this site to start the bidding process.
  5. Started bidding at 48, had to go up to 60 per night to get this.
  6. First bid $45 - accepted by Sheraton Madison Hotel. Used the PRICELINE link from here. TripAdvisor reviews look bleak - anyone has recent experience here ?
  7. Bid 60, 65,68, 70 - finally accepted at $73 for Sheraton Seattle. saved almost $120 off using spg.com so am happy.
  8. bid $40 on a 3.5 star hotel in downtown - wanted to replicate experience of another poster on possibly getting the pfister. got the hilton milwaukee instead. Oh well, that is ok except for the parking fee which is not sitting well with me. Anyone have any luck finding cheaper parking nearby ?
  9. Doing a mileage run on the 5th. Will be driving in to milwaukee on the 4th evening. Just need a place to crash for a few hours. What would betterbidding members recommend ? Cheap and free parking would be ideal as would close proximity to the MKE airport. Thanks!
  10. How was your trip ? Mine went really well and the room I got was really nice. I even reviewed it on tripadvisor.
  11. used PRICELINE link. $60 a night - not a fan of paid parking however :) Have Hyatt Gold Passport - wonder of that helps.
  12. Going to be in Ontario, CA from 9/3 to 9/6. Arriving 9/3 at 11PM so decided to get a lower priced hotel as probably would change for the next few days. Bid $40 for a 3.5 star but got rejected. Bid $35 for a 3 star and got the Hyatt. Any suggestions where to go and which hotel would be better for the next few days ? Would like to get the four points by sheraton for a few nights but dont see it on either priceline or hotwire so far. As always, used the PRICELINE links in the site to bid.
  13. Star rating 2.5 Amenities : Complimentary Breakfast Fitness Center Pool(s) Business Center High-speed Internet Access Golf Nearby Tennis Nearby Price before taxes : $33.00
  14. Booked the La Quinta Las Vegas Nellis for 9/18-9/19 on HOTWIRE - final price 42.74 for 2 people for one night. Well pleased with the decision to do so as it is 79 before tax on the hotels website. I was not willing to pay more for a hotel on the strip since I will be in a luxury suite for the next two nights anyway. Please feel free to move this thread to the hotwire section.
  15. So we have a free stay in the Venetian from 19-21. Just need a hotel for one night for the 18th of september (saturday). On hotwire I believe I can get the la quinta nellis afb for about $40 which seems like a perfectly decent alternative - we dont need to be on the strip for that day, but it would be nice if we COULD be on the strip. What would the worthy members of this board suggest ?
  16. Thank you for the detailed analysis. Right now I only am looking to stay in the Sukhumvit zone. I have a few feelers out to some travel agents to see if they can get a better deal for the 5*'s int he region, if they cant substantially beat it then Ill bid again.
  17. Looks like we will be there around the same time! I just read the reviews on Tripadvisor and almost all of them are scarily negative. Hope it improves by the time we get there. Also to lessen the $28 (crazy) parking fee a day I was thinking of just cabbing it into downtown and back. Its our first time in San Diego so hoping it wont be marred by the hotel!
  18. My wife and I will be in Thailand from jan 5 to 10. Wanted to stay 2 nights in Bangkok and then the rest in Phuket or one of the other islands. Looking at the board it looked like the average for a 5* in Bangkok would be around $50 a night. Is that accurate ? Is January super high season so should I up my bid ? I bid $45 right now, there is a long time between now and January so naturally can afford to wait but obviously would like to lock it down. Would it be better to go with a non-bid source to get the hotel directly ? Suggestions welcome and thank you.
  19. Started bidding at $65 with downtown selected. Got asked to raise price by 15 to 80 a night, refused and rebid with $70 and was accepted by Sheraton San Diego Hotel and Marina. Hope it turns out well. I always use the PRICELINE links on this site.
