  1. Complimentary Breakfast Fitness Center Pool(s) Business Center High-Speed Internet Access The complimentary breakfast wasn't in the restaurant during the weekday. It is only in the restaurant during the weekends. This isn't the nicest hotel you will ever stay in, but it is pretty good for $50.00 The pool area has a slide for the kids to go on. There is also a ping pong table in the pool area.
  2. Just booked the Days Inn in Brookings. It is a 2 star hotel with an attached restaurant and mini golf course. I have stayed at this property in the past, and it was a decent place to stay. It is an older hotel, but well maintained. The restaurant serves the complimentary continental breakfast in the mornings and they have pretty good food for dinner also! I will update if there are any changes to the hotel after we stay.
  3. Here is an update guys. I booked the stay on last minute travel using BobC's info. He was right on the Fairmont and I booked it for $174 a night without any issues. We are very excited about the opportunity to stay here for such a great rate!!!! Since BobC had such good advice on the board, I went over to Paypal and sent in a donation! Thanks guys.
  4. Thanks guys!! I did see that there was a 6000 person convention that week. I didn't think that would have an effect like a 15k or 20k convention. But I also didn't realize that Boston has a smaller percentage of hotel rooms. I am going to look into the last minute travel as well as the HOTWIRE deals. I had high hopes of getting a real steal on the hotel rates. I guess it is not to be, at least not on PRICELINE.
  5. I have been bidding off and on for the last month trying to get a hotel in Boston. I have been trying the Aquarium district and the Quincy Market district. I have gone all the way up to $251 a night for 3.5 and 4 star. There are lots of wins in these districts for less than that. Is it because the dates are during the week? Am I really going to have to bid higher than this? $250 was my top end bid, I don't really want to spend much more than that. I also thought that November was a shoulder season over there and I could get better rates. Apparently not. I am open to suggestions and help THANKS!
  6. Apparently there is a big hockey tourney in Blaine this weekend. Almost all the hotels in that area are booked. I started at $45 a night figuring to get the Crowne Plaza. No go. Both my wife and i bid, each with 5 chances, until I was at $70. It is still $30 less than list price, so I am happy.
  7. I used the PRICELINE link on header and got the hotel on the first try. I bid $46 because I only had one chance and didn't want to lose out over a $1. The Sheraton is closer to where we are going but I am excited to stay at the City Center. I haven't stayed there before.
