  1. Haven't been here a while. This is the Mukilteo location at 3917 Harbour Pointe Blvd. S.W. | Mukilteo, WA 98275. There isn't another in Mulilteo as far as I know. The room had been heavily smoked in and only had 1 double bed in it. Staff were great.
  2. 2* Seattle (Mukilteo - South Everett) Extended Stay America, $44 8/5/13-8/7/13 Free breakfast, free wi-fi, free parking, pets allowed I noticed Priceline Express had this hotel (or similar) for $50. Won it on my first attempt. Retail is $117 per night. Offer Price: avg. per room, per night $44.00 Rooms: 1 Nights: 2 + Add nights for the same rate! Room Subtotal: $88.00 Taxes & Fees: $21.06 Total Charged to Card: $109.06 It's because of this forum and the loyal posters that share their winning bids that allow me (and others) to afford to make these trips. And as always, I used the BetterBidding PRICELINE link.
  3. FYI - Was offered an upgrade to a convertible for $10 per day. We took it. 2013 Volvo C70. In hindsight a convertible is not the best idea for SHARKBAIT (untanned tourists).
  4. Using another poster's info, I shot for the moon and tried $10 for a full-size. Declined but was offered it at $20 per. Working backwards was probably the wrong idea but I am very happy since the bid was for the same day. Pick-Up Date & Time: Thursday, April 25 2013 - 9:30 PM Drop-Off Date & Time: Sunday, May 05 2013 - 6:30 AM Your Offer Price: $15.00 (per day) Total Rental Days: 10 SubTotal: $150.00 Taxes and Fees: $123.35 Total Rental Car Charges: $273.35 You saved 41%!* Retail price from Avis website: $424.66 (35% savings) When I won I was offered the following which was the same thing you get offered at every failed bid: Upgrade Your Rental Car Right Now! Compact 17/day For this time period I would assume $16 (or better) would win Mid-Size 18/day Standard 19/day Full-Size 20/day Premium 27/day Standard SUV 32/day Minivan 37/day Luxury Car 41/day Very happy with this win. I was going to pay the PL list price of $19 per day until I saw: THIS WIN BY KITTYMONSTER It's because of this forum and the posters that share their winning bids that allow me (and others) to afford to make these trips. And as always, I used the BetterBidding PRICELINE link.
  5. This is a great deal in a off-season market. (I won at $15 for a month earlier)
  6. 3* Oahu (Waikiki Beach), Pacific Beach Hotel $85 ... 4/25/13-4/28/13 (Failed $80+10 bid in the Diamond Head Area) I used PL Bonus cash $10 for a 3 night stay. Retail is $149+ per night. Found it on olotels for $123. PRICELINE EXPRESS had $103 for 3* in this location. Offer Price: avg. per room, per night $85.00 Rooms: 1 Nights: 3 Room Subtotal: $255.00 Taxes & Fees: $51.81 Total Charged to Card: $306.81 Due to the amount of negative reviews I will reserve judgement about this win. I guess it's about location. 1 King size or 2 Double beds. http://bedbugregistry.com/hotel/HI/Honolulu/Pacific-Beach-Hotel# Mandatory amenity fee of $20+tax per DAY for: As a convenience to our guests, we have combined our most widely used services and amenities in the amenity fee. 7. Just wondering where you got your vacation rental?
  8. 3.5* SEATTLE (Bellevue) Silver Cloud Hotel-Eastgate $110 ... 6/22/12-6/23/12 Posting for a friend. Completely focused on Seattle Pike Place/Space Needle for 3.5* Used every rebid zone possible up to $130. All failed. They decided Seattle Bellevue was fine. One shot bid at $110 was accepted. I know this property could be had for much less (try $80) but as we had only one bid left... Lowest rack rate was $129. Still saving $19 + tax so friend is happy with that. Free Parking. Pike Place rack is ~$250 + $40 parking + tax. Offer Price: $110.00 Rooms: 1 Nights: 1 Room Subtotal: $110.00 Taxes & Fees: $24.77 Total Charged to Card: $134.77 It's because of this forum and the loyal posters that share their winning bids that allow me (and others) to afford to make these trips. 10. It appears the winning bid is $100 per room. Please change title amount to $50.
  11. (Posting a win for yet another rookie PL/BetterBidder) 3* Seattle Airport, Hilton Seattle Airport And Conference Center $50 ... 4/29/12-5/01/12 Initial bid was $46. Failed but was offered at $58 Declined offer and added free re-bid zone (2.5* Max) of Kirkland Accepted at $50 Offer Price: avg. per room, per night $50.00 Rooms: 1 Nights: 2 Room Subtotal: $100.00 Taxes & Fees: $23.94 Total Charged to Card: $123.94 It's because of this forum and the loyal posters that share their winning bids that allow me (and others) to afford to make these trips. Thank you! And as always, we used the BetterBidding PRICELINE link.
  12. Back from this stay. Won this 3.5* hotel for $64 March 21, 2012 Not the best of hotels in this area but great for the price won at and the location. No pool. Flat screen TVs. Parking ended up being $40 including tax. Staff very friendly. Recommend eating at the Pink Door in Pike Place (1919 Post Alley) for dinner.
  13. Normally I would have posted my losing bids but with not much time left I had to guess at which offer might have been accepted. Turns out this bid was for a 3* but upgraded/accepted at the 3.5* level. Winning range was over $60.
  14. 3.5* Seattle Downtown - Pike Place, Red Lion Hotel On Fifth Avenue $64 ... 3/20/12-3/21/12 Free wi-fi but parking is $32 + tax. Parking lots nearby are usually cheaper. Retail is $199 per night. Found it on Expedia for $147. Offer Price: avg. per room, per night $64.00 Rooms: 1 Nights: 1 Room Subtotal: $64.00 Taxes & Fees: $17.64 Total Charged to Card: $81.64 It's because of this forum and the loyal posters that share their winning bids that allow me (and others) to afford to make these trips. And as always, I used the BetterBidding PRICELINE link.
  15. Congratulations on your win! Thank very much for posting this as it is 5 minutes from my house. Never know when one gets too many relatives in to town... BTW - Elvis stayed in this hotel many, many years ago.
  16. 2.5* Seattle (Redmond-Kirkland) Redmond Inn, $53 8/16/11-8/17/11 Free breakfast, free wi-fi, free parking Courtesy shuttle goes 5 miles. Thank you to mbstone for posting their winning priceline bid. I had been trying to get my usual *3 in SEA-Airport for a few days with failed bids up to $60. As we plan to go to the BlueJays @ Mariners game as a family of (4) I reconsidered my strategy. 4 transit passes + Airport parking fees = $22 + 20 // whereas parking can be had for $20 close by the stadium and this property has free parking. This property has comp continental breakfast so that is an additional savings. Retail is $149 per night. 2.5* Redmond/Kirkland, $51, Added Bellevue, $52. Added Mulkilteo, $53. Room Subtotal: $53.00 Taxes & Fees: $15.11 Total Charged to Card: $68.11 It's because of this forum and the loyal posters that share their winning bids that allow me (and others) to afford to make these trips. And as always, I used the BetterBidding PRICELINE link.
  17. Having used both I have found that PL is almost always cheaper than HW. Both are very simple to identify potential properties if you know where to look. Lists of HW/PL hotels. If you are concerned about a getting a particular amenity, check the PL list of the hotels with the star rating you prefer and see if the listed hotels have that.
  18. 3* Seattle (Airport SEA) Hilton $56... 6/25/11-6/27/11 Helped a friend use NYOP to get this property. They are extremely happy to get this location at this price. Failed $2 bid increments: $45-54 using Kirkland initially as the re-bid area for a 3* in Sea-Tac. Added several others. It's because of this forum and the loyal posters that share their winning bids that allow me (and others) to afford to make these trips. And as always, I used the BetterBidding PRICELINE link.
  19. If you saved some money you still did better than paying retail. Looks like that building is completely sold out as well for some of those dates.
  20. 3* Seattle (Airport SEA) Doubletree $54 ... 6/18/11-6/19/11 Stayed here in April and though PLs get sent to the older section, it's not bad at all. Last minute trip planning. Failed $2 bid increments: $40-52 using Kirkland initially as the re-bid area for a 3* in Sea-Tac. @$52 the $67 offer came up. An interesting note came up while bidding through 2330 to 0010 hours. As the time went past 2345, PL had a note in red saying the earliest check in date was now 6/19/11. I clicked the 'go back' button a few times and it still worked after a few failed attempts. I won this property on the check in date. I didn't think that was possible. This is the area I wanted even though I risked a lot of areas. Also used Bellevue/Bothell/Lake Union/Lynnwood - Edmonds /Seattle Center - Space Needle/ Seattle Downtown - Pike Place/Univ of Washington - Northgate Your Offer Price Per Room, Per Night: $54.00 Subtotal: $54.00 Taxes & Fees: $15.20 Total Charges*: $69.20 Heading to Safeco Field to watch some Jays/Phillies games. Enjoying the city sights. Hotel has airport shuttle that drops off at the light rail system. Light rail is $5 return. Parking across the street at the WallyPark for $16 per day after tax. Hotel has free wifi in the lobby/restaurant area. It's because of this forum and the loyal posters that share their winning bids that allow me (and others) to afford to make these trips. It sure beats going just for a day trip. And as always, I used the BetterBidding PRICELINE link.
  21. Opening bid Granville Entertainment District $100 - rejected rebid (City Hall - Downtown Vancouver South) $105 - rejected rebid (Coquitlam - Burnaby) $110 - rejected rebid (Langley) $113 - rejected rebid (Downtown) $115 - accepted (no counter offer so the Downtown area might be won for less than what I won it at) Your Offer Price: $115.00 (US dollars) Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 1 Subtotal: $115.00 (US dollars) Taxes and Fees: $25.92 (US dollars) Total Charges: $140.92 (US dollars) I started my bidding using this board's PRICELINE link, as usual. Very happy with this win. $231 was the lowest I could find at retail. Parking is $28 but I know where to park for free (east of Science World). Wi-Fi is also a charge. The Stanley Cup finals might still be on during this weekend if Boston can stretch it that far... Go Canucks! Rio Tinto Alcan Dragon Boat competition is on this weekend as well - my son is one of the athletes and this is why we are staying in town. I used to work and live in the downtown area so I know this is a great location. Skytrain is right beside this property.
  22. Got this deal at the last minute and went straight to a posted winning bid. Much obliged to poster TravelKatFae for posting their winning bids. As usual, I used the betterbidding.com PRICELINE link to begin my purchases (I also attempted an unsuccessful NYOP car rental in Oakland and settled on the PL $12 mid-size retail) 1st bid 3* San Jose (Downtown) - $54 - accepted Your Offer Price: $54.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 2 Subtotal: $108.00 Taxes and Fees: $21.72 Total Charges*: $129.72 <-- ($0.14 cheaper?) Very happy with this rate/location/amenities. Free parking/wireless. Going to the Shark Tank to see the Canucks sweep the series!!! Found out that parking at the Pavilion is $1 per 20 minutes and flat $4 after 6pm. Seems to be some issues with this property in TripAdvisor. Not worried as I always bring a great attitude on my travels. Once again I'd like to thank TravelKatFae for their efforts!!!
  23. Won this property on a $48 PL bid. I choose SeaTac area often as it is less expensive. I prefer to use the light rail system to avoid downtown parking fees and negates a designated driver... Great for sporting events at Safeco/Qwest. Parking is $16 + tax but there is a brand new WallyPark directly across the street (west) that charges $10 + tax ($16 total). As usual I get to my PL hotel early to ensure suitable bedding arrangements. It was 2pm but not an issue for the hotel though their policy is 3pm. Complimentary warm cookies. I was slotted in one of the wings as most PL guests seem to get. Not far from lobby. Hotel wasn't full. Lots of airlines use this hotel for their lay over flight crews. No free wifi connections in room. Must have some sort of block on it. Free wifi in lobby/restaurant/pub/coffee bar area. Room was very spacious with 2 queens and an awesome mattress. I slept great on it. Free shuttle to/from airport brings you close to light rail system ($5 day pass). Don't forget to tip your shuttle driver (ours dropped us off right at the light rail elevator). Last train south to Airport is ~ midnight. Someone opened our door while we were in the room in the afternoon just after check in. I hung a 'do not disturb' sign when we left for the game. Room service trays from the morning took a long time (24hrs) to be removed.
