  2. Booked a Sunday night stay via PRICELINE EXPRESS for $86 and got the JW Marriott Buckhead. The amenities were: Free Internet (in Public Area) Indoor Pool Non-Smoking Gym Restaurant Handicap Accessible Business Center I used the PRICELINE link.
  3. Just won the La Quinta Inn and Suites in West Charleston for Sunday night. Amenities included: Free Internet, Free Breakfast, Free Parking, Business Center, Fitness Center, Pet Friendly, Pool, Self Service Laundry. Can't beat $32! :-) I used the HOTWIRE link.
  4. Won the Quality Inn & Suites at Patriot's Point for the week of January 4th through 8th. I started at $45 and kept adding stars and zones while increasing by bod by a $1 each time. I used the PRICELINE link.
  5. I went ahead and booked through PRICELINE EXPRESS Deals and got the Kensington Close Hotel. It was advertised as $79/night for a standard room but we upgraded to the executive room for $94. Amenities were listed as restaurant, pool, and gym/spa.
  6. I decided to pass on the Maida Vale property. I'm now looking at 3.5 star in Chelsea-Knightsbridge-Harrods. The only amenity is internet access (even using the Easy View helper) which leads me to believe that it might be a aparthotel type of thing. Any thoughts appreciated.
  7. Thanks! I think I may divide and conquer. In which case we will stay in London 9/2-9/4 and then come back from 9/7 to 9/9. I'm looking at a 4 star in Kensington for the first leg. I'm still deciding on the 2nd leg. I will update accordingly and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links.
  8. Ah. This is what I found: Free breakfast, Free Internet, Smoke-free rooms, Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access, Spa services, Accessible for hearing impaired, In-room accessibility, Wheelchair accessible, Accessible bathroom, Roll-in shower Thanks!
  9. OK, I "followed" up though I don't remember what I did given that it was two years ago. I most likely booked the room using my government discount. I'm sorry.
  10. This was so long ago, I have no clue what I did. I may have booked a room using my government discount.
  11. I'm looking at a 4 star hotel located in Maida Vale/Queen's Park for the nights of Sept 6th through 9th. Amenities include free breakfast, free internet, and smoke free rooms. Currently listed for $103/night. Any idea what this hotel may be? Thanks in advance!
  12. I'm seeing a 3.5 star hotel in Central Asheville for 2/27/13. Amenities include free parking, fitness center, pool, restaurant, business center, high speed internet, golf nearby, tennis nearby, blind accesible. Any thoughts? When I click on through, it pops up and says "get a hotel that looks like" and it lists the Doubletree Inn Biltmore and the Crowne Plaza. Perhaps the star ratings have been bumped recently? Thanks in advance!
  13. Just scored one night at the Doubletree Hotel Atlanta North for $55. A good deal, of course, but they are being stingy in this area due to the Country Living Fair being held at Stone Mountain Park that weekend. I started with the Northlake Area at $50 and was rejected. Added the North Druid Hills/Emory Area and bumped my bid to $55. I will admit that I tried yesterday for 3.5* hotel in Northlake, North Druid Hills/Emory and Stone Mountain and gave up at $55. I didn't pursue a 3* yesterday because I added a couple of areas that I didn't want to be in that had 3* hotels. Totally blew my bidding strategy! :-) I used the PRICELINE link to make my purchase. Happy bidding everyone!
  14. I just booked the Hilton in Houston Clearlake for $45/night. It was roughly $58 with tax. We were gunning for the area around Hobby Airport as we are flying out on Saturday morning, but weren't in the mood to pay top dollar. I started the bidding at Hobby for $40/night and then dropped our zone to include a 2 1/2* but that still didn't clinch it. I raised the price by a dollar and added a few "dead" zones before finally giving up a choosing an area nearby. I guess with the Final Four in town, the choices were slim and at dollar. And I suppose 17 miles away is considered close by Texas standards! :-) I used the PRICELINE link.
  15. I thought I would return to say that the Crowne Plaza turned out to be a perfect choice, even logistically! The rooms are even nicer than what they look like on the website; the bathrooms are fabulous too. The staff is excellent as well. They treat you like you paid full price, and they even upgraded us to a suite after finding out that my husband and I are having to live separately due to our work situations and that we were celebrating Valentine's Day a little early since I had to be in town for a meeting. So all in all, it was an excellent stay and my husband and I have decided that it may be our monthly rendezvous point for now! Thanks for offering this website. It takes the guessing out of scoring a great deal!
  16. This one was a doozy! I started out bidding in Greenville Spartanburg (GSP) Airport Zone for $40 at the 3.5 star level. Rejected. Added Duncan area (lower than 3* available) and bumped my price to $45. Rejected. Added Greer area, included 3* properties, and kept price at $45. Rejected. Added the Greenville area zone, kept 3* and 3.5*, and dropped price back to $40. Got the Crowne Plaza for $40 + taxes and fees $11.66 for a total of $51.66 I'm slightly bummed that I couldn't get the area I wanted (for logistical reasons), but happy with the hotel result. As you can see, the Greenville zone has been divided, so you might want to update the lists. Now there is the Greenville area, Greenville South area, Greenville Spartanburg Airport area, Greer area, Duncan area, and Spartanburg area. From the research I have done, I think the hotels remain the same as the ones on the list, they've just been placed in these different areas. I used the PRICELINE link. Thanks for everything ya'll do!
  17. Thanks! I will use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links and report back when we book the hotel. And thanks for the info on Four Points. I really like that chain, and will go thru this site next time. :-)
  18. I followed up. I must have forgotten since I booked my stay thru the hotel. We ended up staying at the Sheraton Four Points.
  19. I was told to follow-up on this, which I thought I did, but now that I think about it....I booked the Sheraton Five Points through their site because their rate was better than what I found on HOTWIRE.
  20. Tripadvisor lists both the Hilton Northeast and the Mariott Peachtree Corners as being in Norcross and at a 3.5* level. But there are more amenities listed. And according to the pictures, they both look like they could use a facelift in order to achieve 3.5* but that's just me. :-)
  21. Does anyone know what 3.5* hotel in Norcross that Hotwire could be referring to? Has one of the Holiday Inns been upgraded? Amenities are: exercise room, pool, restaurant, and hi-speed internet Thanks in advance!
  22. Hi everyone, Just wanted to pass this info along. I booked the Holiday Inn Riverview in Charleston for April 11th thru 13th for $69. I first tried $65 in Downtown Charleston, and then increased to $68 before adding the Ashley River Area and going to $69. I believe the La Quinta Riverview was going for $69 on Hotwire, so this was a step up. I used the PRICELINE link. :)
  23. Thanks for trying! I will use the HOTWIRE link and report back if we decide to go that route.
  24. I am looking for a hotel that fits this description for the night November 15th: *3.5 hotel in the Savannah Historic District Amenities: Swimming Pool Exercise Room Restaurant High Speed Internet I checked the list and did not find a *3.5 for Hotwire in the historic district. I didn't know if the hotel would be similar to Priceline's *3.5 hotels. Thanks in advance!
