  1. USING Betterbidding Links checkeed PRICELINE and HOTWIRE rates , Express Deals etc. and decided a few acceptable areas had best prices. Would have liked Downtown so started out trying down therewith price as low as $53. then moved up to $59 without acceptance. First Bid we put in in Grand Rapids North for $53 Was accepted for Spring Hill Suites. Nice hotel with Mall and many choicees for restaurants just a couple minutes. Could walk to Mall or Get something to eat.
  2. We had been looking for a room for Wednesday, February 03, 2016 to stay night prior to conference which is on Palm Ave in Ybor City area. We had bid several times on 3.5-2.5 star hotels in Downtown Historic/Ybor area over past few days bidding from $75 to $88 and not winning and noting the prices were going up and PRICELINE EXPRESS deals were harder to find near our desired area and price range. We realized we likely will need to accept that we should check out other areas as time to book is limited. I happened to spot HOT.WIRE hot deal this morning by airport for 3.5* for $78 and then saw it drop for a moment to $76 for hotel with 90% approval, so I jumped to PRICE.LINE Name Your Own Price bid of $70 in the comparable zone/area and won the Hilton Tampa Airport Westshore on first bid. I use the BetterBidding Hotel Lists as well as the links to PRICELINE and HOTWIRE for comparing hotels, values, pricing and it makes it easy to move quickly when i stop an opportunity.
  3. Wanted to add my comment that you should be very pleased with this hotel. We are here now and they put us in a wonderful King room. I did note my IHG Hotel member # (easy and no cost to apply for).I don't know it helped get such a nice room, however did provide for free late checkout ( 2pm). So nice we hate to leave. Also be prepared for high parking cost like most Miami hotels. Valet is only option here vs city parking lot pay by hour next door .
  4. ACTUALLY WE DID USE Resort.Fee in our researching through Betterbidding.com so were prepared and aware what to expect. ResortFee.com to be a welcome tool which had not seen previously. THIS HOTEL IS WONDERFUL AND WAS PLACED IN HUGE KING ROOM and also offerered free late checkout during checkin.
  5. Using PRICE.LINE and HOTWIRE links to check Hotel prices in area. Checked PL EXPRESS DEALS on Priceline and Hot Rates on HOTWIRE Found 4.5* discounted on both sites. $97 Express Deal, $87 Hot Rate. Found using Hotel lists you provide that this was likely the Intercontinental Miami based on ratings and amenities or possibly The Epic. I researched using various portals on this site to see what additional charge might be involved. Internet, Parking, Resort Fees, etc. Decide to put in a Name Your Own Price Bid on Price.line (again using your link). Started at $80 and was accepted on first bid. I was happy to receive this hotel as Free Wifi is included, potential resort fee is only $10. Parking is a fee at any downtown hotel. We are also IHG members (as is this hotel chain) so may be able to get additional benefits when check in
  6. Thanks.. Late night blurry eyes may have mistook 4.5star for 5star. Thought I checked close enough. ALSO... Not sure how long BB has had the Bidding Helper tool. Had not used. Thanks for noting it. I did not book that deal yet as tax and service fee for that was a little more than some (over $30) Now the deal is up to $124 or $156.22 after tax & fees. Always concerned maybe additional "Hotel Fee" upon check in. This is still like a good price for a place that comes 100% recommended (by Hotwire customer) I will continue using BB links and tools and report what wind up doing.
  7. Trying to figure out this Hotwire Secret Hotel Have been using you PRICE.LINE and HOTWIRE links searching for a great deal on 4/19-4/20/2015 I usually can figure however am not seeing on Hotwire list or prior wins. All it list for amenities at this 5 star is FREE Internet
  8. AS IT TURNED OUT Internet is FREE as mentioned upon check in without having to even request or discuss. Great Hotel in Great area.
  9. Found option on Price.line using BB'S link with and EXPRESS DEAL for 4 star DOWNTOWN for $76. Was able to use the $10 off coupon since total came to over $100. The Express deal states FREE internet.... However Hotel site suggest free in lobby... We'll see what happens as their Natl website suggests no hazzle internet at all Hyatts startrs Feb 1 2015.. Great Hotel for this price. Visited it last year and the area is perfect for our visit.
  10. Using your PRICELINE links I checked out various rate and areas hoping to find something with free parking and or Shuttle to airport. There were a couple 3* Express deals just over $ 71 and up. Some 3* hotels in ORD South had some less than favorable comments in reviews so bid in North zone. Did not expect to win however tried $63 at 4* level .. rejected. Went to $64 at 3.5* rejected again. BID $63 at 3* in Chicago (Airport OHare ORD North) and was successful receiving a Hotel with FREE Parking, FREE Shuttle , Free WiFi at at Hotel chain that usually provides us very nice accommodations. Thanks for BB resources and know we use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links most anytime we are bidding or researching hotels.
  11. EXPRESS DEAL > Crowne Plaza Northstar Minneapolis Downtown $65 Hotel Guest Rating: 8.3/10 618 Second Avenue South Minneapolis, MN 55402 Seemed like a good option to select using EXPRESS DEAL OPTION Amenities listed were: Free Internet, Restaurant, Business Center, Fitness Center I originally tried Name Your Own price selecting a 4* Downtown Minneapolis and bid full length of stay at $63 having seen some other win posted in Calendar of wins. I did notice that $63 4* win was just for a couple weekend nights. I then tried Name Your Own price selecting a 4* Downtown Minneapolis and rebid a shorter stay at $65. I noticed most of the 4* hotels were likely to have extra (sometimes high) fees for internet and often other fees which you do not always find with 3.5* properties. Since this EXPRESS DEAL offered FREE INTERNET and in rooms and also realized the 3.5* Hotels in this area seemed to be pretty high quality I figured I would give the EXPRESS DEAL OPTION a shot. While processing the order it again noted the Free Internet was in rooms (not just lobby like many 4*) I felt even better about obtaining a hotel we should be satisfied with. After winning and viewing Crowne Plaza Northstar Minneapolis Downtown I think this will work well for us. I ALSO received an extra 5% off the total using SPRING14 code with the EXPRESS DEAL. We appreciate and review Calendarsofwins, Hotel Lists and various comments shared on Betterbidding .com and always use the links when booking any travel arrangements. It is simply a pattern we follow of going to BetterBidding.com first and linking to Price.line or Hot.wire for any research or purchases when we travel.
  12. 3* Buffalo - Niagara Falls (Airport BUF) Millennium Airport Hotel Buffalo $53 10/28/13 Booked Priceline EXPRESS DEAL using BB PRICELINE link after reading forum post of another visitor who said they were quite happy with their recent stay (paying $55/night). Hope we are as pleased with our upcoming stay. Assumed it would be this hotel based on amenities and information I found on Betterbidding.com Reviewed comments and info here and also used PRICELINE link to check prices available then initially tried a Name your Own price $40 bid. (rejected) Decided to use the $53 Express Deal option while available and while Express deal FALL5 coupon was available resulting in 5% off the $53. THANKS to BB and especially those who share their results.
  13. NEW YORK HILTON MIDTOWN 1335 AVENUE OF THE AMERICAS, NEW YORK, NEW YORK, 10019, USA Midtown West Tried various options last week both checking wins using BETTERBIDDING Calenderofwins for both Priceline and Hotwire. Always research here first then click on BB links to PRICELINE and offered some bids up to around $150 on 4 stars in adding various NYC areas one at a time. Cycling in and out thru your PRICELINE link. Had no succcess even when included many areas in various combinations Upper West Side, Upper East Side, Midtown West, Midtown East, Central Park South, SoHo - Tribeca, Madison Square Garden - Convention Area, Empire State Building Area, Chelsea Area, Hell's Kitchen, Times Square - Theatre District. Was bidding last week with the extra $7/day option without a win. HOWEVER..... After spotting some better successes while viewing Priceline and Hotwire Calendar of Wins tool today I decided to again give another try. Started out bidding on 5 star, then 4.5 star going up to about $135 gradually adding areas (including ones without hotels of that level) until tried all areas. Upper West Side, Upper East Side, Midtown West, Midtown East, Central Park South, SoHo - Tribeca, Madison Square Garden - Convention Area, Empire State Building Area, Chelsea Area, Hell's Kitchen, Times Square - Theatre District Decided to give a shot at 4 star hotels as I saw one had been won for $130 in Empire state zone. I started my 4 star bids at about $124 Central Park south raised bid to $125 and added Upper west side, added Hells Kitchen at $126, added Times Square at $127. and when I added Midtown west with a bid of $128.... it was accepted. We love New York and always find most any area suitable when traveling without a specific agenda so this works fine. Thanks BB for your Tools, and thanks to those who do report their wins as it makes finding the best options easier.
  14. We were so pleased with this Residence Inn we booked on priceline using Betterbidding for last night and tonight, we decided to try and see if could win another night. Gave it a shot actually lowering our bid to $50 this time and won same place again.
  15. Residence Inn Middtown/ 17th St is just up and acrross the street from the performance we came to Atlanta for. Our event is at Aliance Theartre midtown (Stephen King & John Mellencamps play "Ghost Brothers of Darkland County")so prefered Midtown. THIS HOTEL IS GREAT..... It is not a 4* with all the restaurants and lounges inside however it has turned out to be perfect for our purpose, Lot's of places within walking distance and close to Marta. The staff has been so naturally friendly and helpful. Complimentary breakfast (which did not shut down the moment it was scheduled to). A reception in the evening with food, wine & beer greeted us when we arrived and was open to at least 7:30pm. Free wireless internet... and even though there is a parking fee, it seems like less than most and convenient in/out service and access to vehicle. All the staff seems so friendly introducing themselves and explaining all options for breakfast and such. I am impressed and unlike some hotels the fact that I came here through a low bid on priceline was treated with first class service. HAD TO COMMENT as VERY IMPRESSED.
  16. Was originally looking towards getting a 4* or 3 1/2* in Midtown (possibly Downtown zone) however due to parking prices was being conservative with bidding and started around $60 going as high as $76. Had a few days so was taking it slow and we had noticed some 4* in downtown for around $66. Our event is at Aliance Theartre midtown (Stephen King & John Mellencamps play "Ghost Brothers of Darkland County")so prefered Midtown. We had considered spending time out towards Six Flags while in town so was also bidding out there for day before or after performance in town. So when bidding for 4* Midtown I used Austell-Six Flags as extra bid zone. When we bid as high as $76 in Midtown it gave us a counteroffer of $94.. and when we bid the highest level in Austell of 3* at $50 it gave us a counteroffer of $73...passed on that too. We had second thought later and decided to bid up to $55 in Austell;Six flags and added MIDTOWN *3 for a rebid figuring there was no way would get a 3* Midtown for that price. THAT IS WHEN WE WON THE Residence Inn Atlanta Midtown/17Th Street which is right next door to our venue. We had only bid for the 4th however was given the option to add nights. This will work out great. Very reasonable price at Hotel with moderate parking fees(all have them)and even get Comp breakfast & internet.. Betterbidding gives so many options for research. We use whenever we can and always use the PRICELINE links in our bidding. Thanks
  17. From My research It looks like you are correct unless there another 3.5* that has not come up in win listings. The Westin does appear closer than The Sheraton which I believe would be the likely 4* wih those ammenities. Curious to hear what you wind up with as also looking for rooms in Midtown or Downtown around same time. Will post any wins when I have one.
  18. First bid for 3.5* in Kansas City Airport zone for $45 accepted. Hilton Kansas City Airport ... We used the links from this site (as always) and our research paid off again. This should be a very suitable accomidation for our late evening arrival.
  19. Arizona Golf Resort Hotel is conveniently located on Broaday and Powers First bid accepted when we bid 3* in East Mesa zone. at $47... (priceline cyber monday offer adds $5/day bonus). We stayed at this resort around same time last year paying a little more and found it to be a nice resort with a number of features. Golf Club on site, restaurants and lounge, very friendly staff, Pool and hot tubs and rooms with additonal ammenities like free wifi, fridge, microwave and such. Also: free parking and no resort fee! It was very close to those we were visting as well as many stores, cafes, etc. We made a point of using Better bidding page links as we find this site so very helpful whenever we travel. :D
  20. Last couple years, we used BetterBidding PRICELINE links for bidding in AZ and wound with good results. First bid this time in Scottsdale selecting 4* and above and putting a $54 while using BB link resulted in getting a Resort hotel (Scottsdale) Scottsdale Resort and Conference Center. Have not been here before however we are happy with price and reviews make it sound satisfactory. Two years ago won Hyatt Regency Gainey Ranch Resort with just slightly higher bid and found it excellent. Thanks for maintaining a very useful resource here at Better bidding .. we will continue using your PRICELINE links..
  21. WE stayed at this resort last year sometime...booked through BB and it was fabulous...totally a wonderful resort with sprawling interconnecting pools across the back of courtyard with beach and slide at one end in family area... wander through canals to middle area with walk-up bar...and adult areas at other end.. Courtyard had plush seatting and firepits, etc. We may have to give it a try as we are again planning trip to the area in Dec.
  22. After researching Betterbidding and using the PRICELINE link I won this 3.5* on the first bid of $50 Sheraton Miami Airport Hotel 3900 Nw 21St Street Miami, FL 33142 Always makes me wonder if could have gotten for less or if my research led me to bid just right. Either way, it is a great price considering associates going to the conference are supposedly getting a special rate, staying at a 3* hotel for more than twice this amount.
  23. Marriott Crystal City Crystal City, VA 3.5* 1999 Jefferson Davis Hwy, Arlington, VA 22202 Originally was trying for 4* or 3.5* Hotel for 9/24-9/27 and had been looking for Dupont Circle - Woodley Park, Whitehouse-Downtown, Convention Ctr - Capitol Hill. After trying and finding it dificult to get as good a rate as I hoped in areas I desired I realized a good alternative would be to spend the last night close to airport and other days in an area downtown... After using BB PRICELINE links and winning my first two nights I went back and again used the Piceleine link to secure this for Hotel for the last night of our stay. It should work out great as has easy Metro access to downtown DC and is right by airport which will be nice for early flight out as we leave. Used alot of the Betterbidding resources; Hotel lists both for Hotwire and Priceline, Calendar of Wins and of course other reported successes in order to plan the trip and how we bid. Thanks for the FABULOUS resource.... and hope more who use this site will report their experiences and always use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links.
  24. Renaissance Washington, Dc Downtown Hotel Convention Ctr - Capitol Hill area 999 9Th Street Nw, Washington, DC 20001 Spent a few days researching areas and Hotels near Metro stops with using Betterbidding Hotel lists and maps both on PRICELINE and HOTWIRE. Settled on a few areas we prefferred: Dupont Circle - Woodley Park, Whitehouse-Downtown, Convention Ctr - Capitol Hill, and (Arlington, VA if could not get others at reasonable enough price). We had used Betterbidding on last trip to DC and using PRICELINE link won great 4* Hotel in Dupont Cir area at great price and found that very convenient for dining, and for getting around so tried that area first. We realized during prior trip that both Whitehouse-Downtown, Convention Ctr - Capitol Hill would also be very convenient and often just walking distance from the Smithsonian Museums we would like to visit this trip with restaraunts/ clubs etc all nearby. We initially sought a 4* level hotel however figured most 3.5*'s would be fine as well. We also had heard of some nice places in Arlington area which were used by Priceline and Hotwire and noticed wins on BB at some lower $ so figured would settle on that and using Metro if necessary. We tried bidding in our preferred areas first starting about as low as $70 and increasing bids a few $ while adding and area and using BB's PRICELINE link. After bidding and area and then adding one close and then come back to BB use Priclene link again on a diferent area and start againwith another prefered area. We did this a few times of a few days raising prices and varied configurations of ares to get the most rebids we could bidding as high as around $117. We would look at Hotwire and see what Hotels we coiuld identify were going for in the areas we desired and bid a bit under that on Priceline.(using link here) Our stay in DC was actually 9/24-9/27 however we also realized the 27th appeared to be an issue that might be hindering our wins so we reduced our number of days bid figuring might be able to add later or if needed would stay in Hotel closer to airport the last night. After a few days of not having a win at prices we hoped in the areas or star level we most desired we spotted some "deals" on Hotwire for Arlington and when Pricleine sent a message about adding and extra $5 per night to our bids... we decided to move forward to win that day even if Arlington was the area. So again using BB PRICELINE link starting as low as $70 ...and after a couple of varied tries was surprised to get a Renaissance Washington, Dc Downtown Hotel which with a rate typically over $300-400 for just $78. We were given the option to add another night to our stay howevver could not get at that price at the time. We did find a different hotel for the 27th and with BB resources we had no problem doing that (actually for even less $).
  25. Wow Great price for what I hear is fabulous Hotel.. Beat my $176 winning priceline bid for it for 16th-18th,, I had tough time getting price I expected on first couple days I tried... however after reciiving email from Hotwire about * price reduction & noticing what I thought was The W I rebid on PRICELINE through link here and won on my first bid ..... When that happens, always wonder if could have gone lower. Congrats on your win.
