Prices slightly down at the hotels. Country Inns is at 100 (from 104), Courtyard at 109, and Springhill at 114. Tried 50, 52, and $54 and received the counter offer again at $54 to increase my bid to $68. Went to $57 instead and it was declined.
It's not usually this tough for N. Virginia. I may have to break the $60 mark. The economy must be better. :)
Tried 52, 52, 54, and 55 today with no luck. At $54, I got an offer to increase it to $68, but went with $55 instead. I'll wait a few days and start over.
I was hoping for a mid 50's max. I've hit that in the past a few times in Woodbridge. Usually it's a Courtyard or Country Inns. I used the PRICELINE link in the upper right corner for the attempts.
Tried again today. Went 45, 47, 49, and 51. Nothing. Will probably go to 55 tomorrow and hold off a week or two if it doesn't get accepted.
Country Inns is at 104, Courtyard at 109, and Springhill at 114. Best Western is at 84 and Holiday Inn Express is at 93, but I've yet to see those come up in the few times I've used PRICELINE.
Tried $40, $42, $44, and $46 - all rejected. Will try again in a day.
I have been trying a couple times per week for about a month for either MTE or MTW. My bids were between $130 and $150. Today, I saw someone had received the Sheraton NY for $170. I decided to raise my bidding by $10 and started at $140. I immediately received a counter for $175. Since I had 4 rebids left and I figured they would accept a bid about halfway between, I decided to continue upping my bids by $5. My offer was accepted at $155.

I've been trying on and off the last 3 weeks with no luck. I'd go up to $125, 4*, in MTE and MTW. Hotels during that time have creeped up a little. I also needed on of the rooms to have 2 beds and was seeing the 1 bed / 2 bed prices start to drift apart. So, after seeing someone else get the Sheraton Manhattan for $90, I decided to try that with 4 rooms instead of 3. Got it at $90.

Tried a few more times up to $120. Still nothing. Hotel prices haven't changed much since last week. I did find that the convention had 14,000 last year, down form 15,000 the year before. The deadline for their block of rooms is February 17. It looks like prices won't move much until then.
Tried again, up to $120. No luck. Also added MTE, up to $120. Nothing. I have been tracking the hotel rates. A few have dropped in the last week. Hilton MTW went from $299 to $269. The SHoreham, $299 to $275. Omni Berk, $232 to $210. Three others have gone up, but 3 of them less than $10.
Looks like I'll wait another week.

One question. One convention for that weekend (from the Javits site) is the VisionExpo. I went to the site and they list quite a few (21) hotels with conference rates in their program. The reservation deadline for the conference rates is February 23rd. So, have you seen a relationship in the past between the main convention deadline and when the hotels release rooms to Priceline?
Tried again. Still no luck. Went up to $120 again.
Just posting for others to reference. No luck so far. Looking for 3 rooms. Started at $95 and increased up to $120. Last year during this time, winning bids were between $105 and $120 (for MTW). I know it's a different year but I'm not in a hurry. Airline prices dropped in the last few days. Maybe hotels will follow. Will try again in a few days.
