  1. I placed 2 separate bids for this area. First bid was accepted and i got The Sonesta at $55 per night for 2 rooms. I then placed a separate bid on the same area for July 16-18 and got exactly the same hotel at the same rate. Total for 3 nights came up to $196.32 and for 2 nights came up to $130.47. Of course i placed my bid by clicking on the PRICELINE link provided in this forum. Thanks.
  2. A friend of mine was bidding over several days in MTE, MTW, ESB, CPS, and TS and his bid was $140 for many 4 and 3.5 stars and nothing was coming up. PRICELINE advised him to increase his bid to $165 to get him his confirmed hotel right away. He declined the offer. He increased his bid to $155 and got the Sheraton NY Hotel and Towers. Total for 2 nights including taxes came up to $380. He is happy with his result. He is using PRICELINE for the first time and will be using it over and over again. Thanks.
  3. I started bidding all the 4 stars in Dupont Circle, Georgetown and Downtown area up to $90 and nothing was coming up for the dates of my stay. I even selected the 3.5 star category and got nothing. However, i added a re-bid zone and increased my bid to $95 and got the Washington Marriott. I was really surprised that for a recent post with similar dates of my stay, someone got the same hotel i did for $65 a night! Total for 4 nights came up to $445 with taxes and fees. Retail rates for the dates of my stay are $269 per night. I guess i got a tremendous deal! I used the PRICELINE link provided in this forum. Thanks.
  4. I started bidding all the 5 stars in The Strip North, North Vicinity and Strip South up to $120 and nothing was coming up for the dates of my stay. However, when i lowered the category to 4 star, i bid to $87 (having checked the retail rates for the properties in the hotel list) and got the Westin Casuarina. Not exactly the hotel i was hoping for. I would have liked the Planet Hollywood, the NYNY, the MGM or the Treasure Island. Total for 3 nights came up to $305. I used the PRICELINE link provided in this forum. Thanks.
  5. I booked a hotel through the PRICELINE link and the first bid of $110 for a Resort was accepted at this property. I was aiming to get the Intercontinental, which i had recently bid for on a previous bid. This property is listed in this forum's hotel list as a hotel. PRICELINE considers it a resort. Total with taxes came to $255 for 2 nights. Thanks.
  6. I booked a hotel through the PRICELINE link and first bid of $100 for a Resort was rejected. Then added a re-bid zone for $110 per night and got the Intercontinental, which is a very good hotel for the price. Normal price for the stay is $222 per night, so this was a mega deal that i found through PRICELINE. Total with taxes came to $379 for 3 nights. Thanks.
  7. Was bidding all the 3+ star levels in Jersey City and Secaucus up to $70 and nothing was coming up for the dates of my stay. However, when i added the Meadowlands zone and had lowered the category to 2 star, i increased my bid to $65 and got an upgrade to a 3.5 star hotel for the Sheraton Meadowlands. Total for 5 nights came up to $389. I used the PRICELINE link provided in this forum.
  8. Booked this hotel for my 1 night stay in Miami next July. Tried a 3.5 star hotel at $50 and got nothing. Then lowered the category to a 3 star and bid $45 and got accepted at this new property for this forum's hotels list. Hotel is excellently located at Blue Lagoon Drive and includes breakfast, intertnet and free parking. Advertised rate is $109 per night. My total with taxes came to $59. I am very happy with the result of this well reviews property. Thanks to this forum for everything.
  9. I missed my flight at Newark Airport and was booked to fly the next day. Had to find a cheap hotel on the last minute and used Priceline to do it. Tried a 3.5 star hotel at $50 and got nothing. Tried a 3 star at $55 and got the Courtyard by Marriott EWR Aiport. Total with taxes for 1 night was $71. Adversited rate for the night was $169. Pretty a steal! I used the PRICELINE link to begin my purchase. Thanks!
  10. I tried unsuccessfully to place bids on the Jersey City area, Secaucus, Meadowlands and 4, 3, and 2 star hotels for the dates of my stay. I lowered to 1 star in the mentioned areas and i got this hotel for a total of $299.00. I am not happy with the result, as the hotel is very far for my needs. Tried also Long Island City in NY and didn't get anything either. Regards.
  11. Hello. For NYC, i think it will be very tough to get 8 rooms via PRICELINE, although PRICELINE can negotiate that number of rooms. $180 sounds very optimistic, so i think that for that price, you might get a good deal. I have gotten recently 5 rooms in Chicago and Milwaukee recently at good hotels, but i have never tried NYC. Maybe you can try bidding in blocks of 4 rooms, noting that you might get different hotels in those separate bids. Good luck. January sounds like a good time to search. Keep in mind Priceline's no cancellation policies before you bid. You can also try HOTWIRE during your search.
  12. Was bidding all the 3+ star levels in Chicago Downtown South and North of the River up to $70 and nothing was coming up for the dates of my family stay. I even added the Greater Chicago Zone and nothing. However, i added rebid zones and and increased my bid to $75 and got the Marriott Medical District at UIC. Total for 5 rooms for 1 night came up to $444. I used the PRICELINE link provided in this forum.
  13. I book through PRICELINE even though i book a room for 2 poeple and want 2 beds. Your case is only for 1 night on a friday night, so if you get a chain hotel and call immediately after knowing your hotel, they will be more than happy to assign your request upon availability. I have had only 1 time in which i got a 1 bed room, but it was because i checked in at 1am to the hotel, so all double beds for that night had already been given away. Try PRICELINE as you will get a better discount and just get it to work with your hotel directly. Regards.
  14. Was bidding all the 3+ star levels in Chicago Downtown South and North of the River up to $80 and nothing was coming up for the dates of my family stay. However, selected the Greater Chicago Zone and lowered the bid to $70 and got an upgrade to the amazing Hyatt Regency McCormick Place. Total for 5 rooms came up to $414. I used the PRICELINE link provided in this forum. Thanks.
  15. I looked in HOTWIRE for this specific property and the guess was accurate. Listing included Smoke Free Rooms, Hi Speed Internet, Golf Nearby and Restaurant. Total for 2 nights was $246, although the hotel charges a mandatory additional fee not included in the prepaid rate. I used the HOTWIRE link provided in this page. Thanks.
  16. Booked this hotel for a friend and was trying different star levels in this area and The Loop. Finally got accepted at this property for 4 nights. Rate was $75 plus taxes for a total of $355.76. I used the PRICELINE link provided in this forum to begin my travel purchase. Thanks.
  17. I recently bid in Downtown Milwaukee for a 4 star, 3.5 and 3 star hotels. Nothing was coming up until i finally added the Milwaukee North area and got this Radisson property for the dates above. It is for 5 rooms and 2 nights stay each. Total with taxes came to $644.40, or $128.88 each room. I used the PRICELINE link provided in this forum. Thanks.
  18. I placed 2 separate bids for this area. I was trying CPS, ESB, MTE and MTW. I started with 4 star hotels at $130, then went down to 3.5* and then went down to 3 stars and nothing was coming up. First bid included all the mentioned areas above except MSG, which was the last one i chose and then got The Ramada Plaza New Yorker at $130 per night, for a total of $625 for 4 nights with taxes and fees. I then placed a separate bid on MSG area for July 8-11, and luckily, got the same hotel at $129 per night for 3 nights, for a total of $470. Of course i placed my bid by clicking on the PRICELINE link provided in this forum. Thanks.
  19. Was bidding all the star levels in Toronto Downtown South and North up to $80 and nothing was coming up. Had to wait 24 hours to re-submit my bid and selected a re-bid zone in Markham and got this hotel, which seems fine. Total for 3 nights came up to $247.47 I used the PRICELINE link provided in this forum. Thanks.

  21. Was bidding as low as $45 for the Seaworld area for 2.5*-4* with no success. Had to try many times using different strategies until i finally ended up getting this hotel for $70 a night for 3 nights. Total came up to $247 including taxes and fees. I think the hotel is really a 3 star, since TripAdvisor and hotel sites rate it as such. Free breakfast and internet are included in rate, plus parking. Right in front of SeaWorld. I used the PRICELINE link provided in this forum. Thanks!
  22. Got this hotel for $60 per night for relatives who are visiting NYC. Was bidding to $75 for Secaucus and Jersey City but nothing was coming up. I even went down to a 2* and nothing. Added the Meadowlands area and was upgraded to a 3.5* hotel in my search bid of $60. Great connection to NYC with hotel shuttle to train station. It also has Manhattan View. I used the PRICELINE link to begin my purchase in this forum. Thanks.
  23. Got this hotel for $75 per night for relatives who are visiting NYC. Was bidding from $60 but nothing was coming up. Had to add re-bid areas until by bid got accepted at $75. I tried 3* in order to get the Holiday Inn but i am very happy my relatives are going to stay in the same hotel i stayed recently. Breakfast and free internet is included in room rate, and also free parking. A big plus for a stay in NYC. I used the PRICELINE link to begin my purchase in this forum. Thanks.
  24. Got this hotel in Long Island City for $65 per night just yesterday on the last minute for a friend accompanying me on my trip. Selected Long Island City got the Fairfield Inn. I am happy with the result. Just 10 mins by subway from Manhattan, and from the hotel you have city view. Total for 4 nights totaled $318.67. Reviews seem nice in Tripadvisor. I did my search using the PRICELINE link provided in this forum. Thanks.

Hotel is centrally located and room includes free wi-fi. I used the PRICELINE link located in this forum. Thanks.
