  1. I always prefer Priceline over Hotwire. Spent 2 days bidding without luck in PL so my only left option was Hotwire. Saw prices relatively high so i found this to be a good deal, considering it has free breakfast. The area is not the best but the hotel seems very comfortable in pictures, plus has free parking, free wi-fi and others, etc....... Here is what i found: $68 per night for 3 nights plus $34 in taxes. Tota of US$238. Amenities: Free Shuttle, Complimentary Breakfast, Laundry, Golf Nearby, Fitness, Business Center, Restaurant, etc..... The hotel has a 3 star rating in many online travel agencies, so i find that a plus. All in all, a good deal considering the lack of availability by booking opaque rates in PRICELINE. Advertised rate for this hotel is $94, so per night i got a 27% of discount. Good deal anyway, right??
  2. I wonder why this forum's administrators have not replied to this post and WHY they haven't put this hotel in the Dominican Republic hotels list.
  3. Booked this hotel for my 1 night stay in Santo Domingo next weekend. Tried bidding 3.5 stars hotels in the Juan Dolio area and got this hotel at $65 by adding a free re-bid zone. Hotel is excellently located at the tourist zone of Juan Dolio. The reservation is All Inclusive for 2 people at this resort. Advertised rate is $119 per night at the Barcelo Site and at $134 at Expedia. That a 30% savings! My total with taxes came to $83. I am very happy with the result of this well reviewed property. I used the PRICELINE link to begin my purchase. Thanks.
  4. I had many days trying to book a 4 star hotel in Buenos Aires. This city does not have any other area, just Buenos Aires. No re-bid zones here. Retail prices for 4 star hotels ranged from $100-$180. I bid originally for Nov 29 until Dec 3. All my bids came rejecte. Dec 2 night seems to be sold out at most hotels Priceline partners with. I tried lowering to 3.5 for $100 a night and got nothing. Modified the dates of my stay and got the Sheraton Libertador from Nov 29 until Dec 2. Hotel is sold out for Dec 2 night. Total for my stay for 2 rooms is US$885.84. Hotel retail night is $176 plus taxes. A real deal! However, other hotels in BAs offer free full breakfast for $120 a night, being also 4 stars. The Sheraton does not. I used the PRICELINE link to begin my purchase. Thanks.
  5. Booked this hotel for my 1 night stay in Orlando next monday. Tried 3 stars hotels in the LBV and Convention Center and got this hotel at $36 by adding a free re-bid zone. Hotel is excellently located at the entrance of Universal Studios. Advertised rate is $90 per night. That a 40% savings! My total with taxes came to $47. I am very happy with the result of this well reviewed property. I used the PRICELINE link to begin my purchase. Thanks.
  6. First of all, this is a terrific deal for an all inclusive resort. Although 3 stars, the rate can't be beaten. Occupation is for 2 adults in the room. I bid searching for a hotel in the Cabarete area, and since the Sosua Oceanfront covered it, i was very lucky today at getting this deal at the exact property i was aiming for. I know that i could have landed in Sosua, which is a 10 minute car ride, but i took my chances. I started bidding in the first round and got accepted at this property! $70 per night plus taxes for a total of $172. Again, for 2 people, 2 nights, all inclusive (meals, accomodations and drinks). Great beach and nice Tripadvisor reviews. I used the PRICELINE link provided in this forum. I think this hotel had never been reported to the board before. Thanks!
  7. I bid on many areas not wanting to spend too much per night, because of my my budget. I started bidding in 3.5 and 3 hotels in Union Square, the Wharf, Financial District and the Marina, until finally getting the Holiday Inn for $55 per night for 4 nights, for a total of $263.12. Hotel is centrally located and room includes free wi-fi. I used the PRICELINE link located in this forum. Thanks.
  8. I was aiming to get either the Venetian, the Wynn or the Palazzo based on the previous wins and this forum's hotels list. Placed by first bid at $120 and got rejected. Added many re-bid zones until finally being accepted at this property at $132 per night. Total for 4 nights came up to $614.40 with taxes and fees. Called the hotel and the price already includes the resort fee. Great!! I used this forum's PRICELINE link to being my purchases. Thanks.
  9. Booked this hotel in mid october for my sister's stay in Miami next november. Tried a 3.5 star hotel at $55 and got nothing. Then lowered the category to a 3 star and bid $45 and nothing. Added a re-bid zone and bid $50 and got accepted at this property. Hotel is excellently located right at MIA airport and includes shuttle to the airport and internet. Advertised rate is $109 per night. Total with taxes for 3 nights came up to $179.04. She is very happy with the result of this well reviewed and renovated property. I used the PRICELINE link to begin the purchase.
  10. Booked this hotel for my 1 night stay in Miami next October. Tried a 3.5 star hotel at $50 and got nothing. Then lowered the category to a 3 star and bid $45 and nothing. Lowered to 2.5 star and bid $40 and nothing. Added a re-bid zone and bid $46 and got accepted at this property. Hotel is excellently located right at MIA airport and includes shuttle to the airport and internet. Advertised rate is $109 per night. My total with taxes came to $59. I am very happy with the result of this well reviewed and renovated property. I used the PRICELINE link to begin my purchase.
  11. Got this hotel after trying to get a 3+ star in the many Downtown areas with no success for up to $175 a night. Added re-bid zones in several areas until finally adding 2 stars hotels and got this property at $150. Total with taxes came up to $189. Hotel seems nice and very comfortable, so i am very happy with the selection. I used the PRICELINE link provided in this forum. I don't think this hotel has been previously reported on the board. It even didn't show up on Priceline's retail hotel's list.
  12. Got this hotel after trying to get a 3+ star in the Downtown area with no success for up to $60 a night. Added a re-bid zone in Dadeland and got the Hotel Indigo, which is right next to Dadeland Mall. Total with taxes came up to $69.90. Hotel seems nice and very comfortable, so i am very happy with the selection. I used the PRICELINE link provided in this forum. Regards.
  13. I always do my homework prior to bidding. I do the same research you do. Exactly the same. Priceline SHOULD NOT book customers who overbid on hotels that have lower rates at retail prices if they are naming their own price. They should get them a higher priced hotel or simply reject the bid. If a customer get their bid rejected and the price of a similar star hotel is lower, the customer should have the option to purchase that hotel at HIS convenience, not something that obligates them to be in that hotel when they are paying over the actual price. Another option would be to confirm the customer the best available room with a higher retail price at the confirmed property, in order for the customer to receive VALUE and SAVINGS by Naming Their Own Price. You guys seem to be biased on Priceline's side than with an actual customer who always wants more out of their money.
  14. I did my previous research on the same Priceline hotels page and found out that the only 3.5 stars were the Crowne Plaza at $113 per night and the Marriott at Glennpoint at $229 per night. So that is why i went ahead and bid $120 aiming to get the Marriott or other similar 3.5 hotel in the area. Instead, Priceline booked me in this hotel as i previous said. Other time i bid $150 aiming to get a hotel in Manhattan and added the re-bid zone in Long Island City (did a previous price research in the area) and they booked me in the Holiday Inn even though the HI was at $140 at retail price. Do you think this practice is fair?? I think not!! If Priceline cannot find a hotel in which a customer will get a great discount as the Name Your Own Price states in their publicity, then they should just reject the offer in the first hand. False publicity can me sued against a company because they are fooling customers and luring them for something they will not grant at all.
  15. I booked this hotel for my next stay in New Jersey. I got this hotel by bidding with free re-bid zones. I was surprised that after getting the hotel confirmation, i saw the retail price to be lower on other websites, the hotel's website and even on the same Priceline page. I called PRICELINE and complained about this, and they offered to match me the difference in price, give me a refund for the difference plus they issued me a $50 Bonus Cash for a future retail reservation. The same thing happened to me in another reservation in July, but i forgot to report it to the forum. Priceline practices to confirm you in a hotel even though your bid price is higher than the actual price the hotel offers at retail prices or in other cases you get a $3 discount from the retail hotel's rate. This last happened to me in a Vegas reservation. I only saved $10 by naming my own price. I don't know why PRICELINE does not correct this glitch on their reservations system. If a customer will not be getting at least 15% of discount by naming their own price, PRICELINE should just reject the offer and not confirming reservations at hotels where an actual customers overbids. They use false publicity to say people can save by naming their own price when actually they don't. Since there are no refunds, cancellations or modifications, you have to stick with the hotel they have you, even though you have overbid and they give you a price match if you named your own price. I don't think it is fair.
  16. I bid on this hotel for this area for this first round and got accepted at this property. $45 per night plus taxes for a total a $162. I used the PRICELINE link provided in this forum. Thanks.
  17. Got this hotel after trying to get a 3 star in Aberdeen (North East Suburbs). Another couple of friends previously had gotten this same hotel for 2 rooms for 11 nights stay at $45 per night. Hotel is less than 2 years old and reviews seem nice in Tripadvisor. I don't think this hotel had been previously reported on the board. Regards.
  18. I got this great deal on PRICELINE via the link. A friend is coming with me on my trip to San Juan. First bid of $70 was accepted at this property. Total for 3 nights is $243. Going with friends to San Juan and expect to have a blast there. I will book a rental car via PRICELINE and will let the forum know about the deal i get in the coming days.
  19. Got just this deal for a quick visit for business to Puerto Rico. Was bidding initially $70 but was rejected. Added a re-bid zone and increased my bid to $75. Got this amazing property. $75 per night taxes and fees for a total of $176. Room is already confirmed as i called the hotel and made my special requests prior to arrival. Reviews seem quite nice in Tripadvisor. I will enjoy my visit to Puerto Rico. Thanks.
  20. I was bidding for a relative who was going to visit Santo Domingo for 3 nights. I tried the Santo Domingo area for $45 at the 4 star level but was rejected. Later i tried with 3.5 and 3 star hotels and got nothing. I tried the Punta Cana and Puerto Plata all inclusive hotels (as a re-bid zone, since no hotel will offer an all inclusive stay for 2 for $40 or $55 a night) and increased my bid to $50, then $55, until finally getting my bid accepted at the Courtyard by Marriott Santo Domingo downtown. Total for 3 nights is $215, which is pretty a deal, since the normal hotel rate for this stay was $99 per night. I used the PRICELINE link provided in this forum. Thanks.
  21. My uncle placed a bid for 7 rooms at the McHenry County in the Crystal Lake area for $45 a night per room (after previously getting this same hotel for his 3 nights stay). Without having to re-bid, he got his confirmation for his seven rooms (9 nights stay) in the first bid. The hotel has free breakfast, free parking and free internet. They even confirmed my uncle's bedding requests for his rooms without problem. Total per room per night with taxes came up to $51.20. I recommended him this forum and he will be using it for his future purchases and contributions. Thanks.
  22. I started bidding on behalf of my uncle at the McHenry County in the Crystal Lake area up to $50 for a 3 star and nothing was coming up for the dates of his stay. I even selected the 2.5 and 2 star category and got nothing up to $40. However, i selected the Algonquin area and got him confirmed at the Holiday Inn Express Algonquin. The hotel has free breakfast, free parking and free internet. They even confirmed my uncle's bedding request before hand. Total for 3 nights came up to $148 with taxes and fees. Retail rates for this stay are $119 per night. I got a tremendous deal! I used the PRICELINE link provided in this forum. Thanks. PS: I don't think this area and hotel has been ever reported in the forum.
  23. I was aiming to get the Trump Hotel. Checked this forum hotel's list first and the went to check retail prices for the Trump. They were at $120 for the dates of my stay. Placed by first bid at $70 and got rejected. Added a re-bid zone and got finally accepted at this property at $80 per night. Total for 3 nights came up to $280 with taxes and fees. I used this forum's PRICELINE link to being my purchases. Thanks.
  24. I started bidding all the 4, 3.5 and 3 stars in Montreal up to $70-$75 per night and nothing was coming up for the dates of my stay. I spent 2 days searching for my hotel. After checking the hotel list in this forum for Montreal, i lowered the category to 2.5 stars, bid $70 and got accepted at this Holiday Inn Express property. It is well reviewed and has complimentary breakfast and wi-fi. Total for 3 nights came up to $255 with taxes and fees. I used the PRICELINE link provided in this forum. Thanks.
  25. Please correct the dates. Bid for the 2 rooms was from July 16-19th.
