  1. Just won this hotel. Did my homework at matching the amenities with those listed at regular booking sites. The listed amenities in this so called "Super Savings" hotel are: Resort Free Breakfast Free Parking Free Internet Beachfront Property Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center Golf Nearby Tennis Nearby Spa Services Children's Activity Program In-room accessibility Handicapped parking Total charges US$111.32
  2. Booked this hotel right now. Super Savings rate from $402 down to $224. Amenities listed included: Resort Free Breakfast Beachfront Property Food and Beverages Included Premium Brand Beverages Included A la Carte Dining Options Water Sports/Ocean Activities Included Evening Entertainment Included Daily Activities Included Children's Activity Program Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Golf Nearby Tennis Nearby Spa Services Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking Roll-in shower All-Inclusive Thought it would be one of the Palladium Resorts but it turned out to be the Melia. An awesome Resort as well. Total for 2 nights with taxes and fees came to US$470. Can't complain of the rate, since this weekend is one of the busiest in the Punta Cana area.
  3. Just an update. This hotel is in the Punta Cana-Bavaro area in Priceline's zone for the Dominican Rep.

  5. Just won this hotel using the PRICELINE links in this page. Started bidding at $100 and adding several free re-bid areas. Choosing a 4 star hotel in an all inclusive area automatically includes the Resort option. Went up to $115 by adding the Arena Gorda area and got the Riu Palace Punta Cana. Total for 2 nights with taxes and fees came up to $282. A similar stay in other webpages is valued at $379 for 2 adults. I am very happy with the Resort i got. Thanks!
  6. Just booked this hotel today for a last minute trip to San Juan. Amenities: Free parking, near beach, breakfast, internet, restaurant Total is $264 for 2 nights for a room with 2 double beds and for 3 people. Rate was the same at Expedia booking non opaque rates. Too bad Hotwire sold me this hotel for the same price
  7. I got this completely recently opened hotel!! First win!! I was looking for a room in the Miami Airport - Doral area. I started for 4 stars bidding $50, having checked that fares were pretty fair for these dates. I tried 3.5 star hotels, then 3 stars and increased my bids by $2 and $3 until i finally got this great property!! Free Breakfast, Kitchenette in room, modern, fresh, non smoking property. Could i have asked for more?? Total with taxes came up to $197. Lowest available rate in the hotel's webpage is $116. This hotel is a new concept from Westin and belongs to the Starwood hotel chain. I used the PRICELINE link provided in this forum.
  8. I was trying to book a room in the Santiago area in the Dominican Republic. There is only one area in which to bid and hotels range from 2, 2.5 and 3 stars. I wanted to stay 2 nights, and the strategy i used was to bid first for the 2 nights. My bid got rejected at $70. Then i received an immediate counteroffer to raise my bid to $104 to get a confirmed room right away. I declined. Used the strategy to raise my bid by $5 and bid only for 1 night, in the hopes of getting a confirmed room
  9. Even though the availability of hotel rooms was quite fair for this dates, getting a confirmed room via NYOP in Priceline seemed hard. I tried adding 3.5 star hotels and lower and got nothing. I started bidding $70 and $50 and increased my bids by $2 or $3. On the final bid, by adding a 2 star hotel in the MIA Airport and Doral area, increased my offer to $75 and i finally got a confirmed room in this hotel. On the plus side, free parking. The total with taxes came to US$94.
  10. What an amazing deal i got!! I started by selecting the San Juan area for a 3.5 star hotel for $85. Added the Cabo Rojo zone and increased my bid to $90. Nothing yet. Added the Rio Grande area (Resort only) and increased my bid to $95 and got this fantastic property. It was my aim and i got it!! Best available published rate is $239 plus taxes! I can't beleive Priceline rates this hotel at 3 stars! I have been to this hotel and it is a solid 4 star! My total is US$327 with taxes. A normal priced stay is valued up to US$882. What a steal!! A rocking 63% discount!! WOW!! This is why i love Priceline! I used the link provided in this forum. Thanks!!
  11. I started bidding for 4 star hotel in the Santo Domingo area at $53 and immediately got a counteroffer to raise my bid to $69. As i always do, i declined the offer, added a free rebid zone and raised my bid to $55 and got a confirmed room at this property. One of the 2 best hotel in SD right now. Total for the stay is $73 with taxes. Regular rate at the hotel is $99 plus taxes. 42% of discount! I used the PRICELINE link provided in this forum. Thanks.
  12. Got this hotel by bidding in Priceline after adding numerous zones and aiming to get a hotel in the South Beach Area. I got it exactly for the same retail price. Total price ended being $13 more expensive by bidding opaquely. Not happy about that. Hotel seems run down and dated. I used the PRICELINE link provided in this forum.
  13. I starred bidding for 4 star hotel in the Santo Domingo area at $53 and immediately got a counteroffer to raise my bid to $69. As i always do, i declined the offer, added a free rebid zone and raised my bid to $55 and got a confirmed room at this property. Not the best hotel in SD, but it is quite good. Total for the stay is $72 with taxes. Regular rate at the hotel is $99 plus taxes. I used the PRICELINE link provided in this forum. Thanks.
  14. Let me start by writing this post by saying that, even though the availability of hotel rooms at good rates was quite fair for this dates, getting a confirmed room via NYOP in Priceline seemed difficult or almost imposible. I tried during 5 consecutives days adding free rebid zones, 2.5 star hotels and got nothing. I started bidding $45 and $50 and increased my bids by $2 or $3. On the final day, by adding re-bid zones and reaching my offer to $66, i finally got a confirmed room in this hotel, which seems like it has been recently renovated. On the plus side, free breakfast, free parking and free wi-fi. The north area of the MIA airport is not the best, but this was a good deal all the way. Hotel charges $15 for a second person in the room (above a $88 per night rate plus taxes), but thanks to Priceline, the room was confirmed for 2 adults in a double bed room. Couldn't have asked for anything better. So let's say i good deal since the total with taxes came to US$317 for 4 nights. I used the PRICELINE link provided in this forum. Thanks.

I tried during 3 consecutives days adding free rebid zones, 2.5 star hotels and got nothing. I started bidding $45 and $50 and increased my bids by $2 or $3. On the final day, by adding re-bid zones and reaching my offer to $60, i finally got a confirmed room in this hotel, distant in every way from Miami main attractions. Even though hotel is fine and very clean and comfortable, i still don't get why i didn't get a better deal in the Miami Airport, Doral, Hialeah and Coral Gables zones. Anyway, good deal since this hotel is $149 per night for those dates. Total with taxes came to US$145 for 2 nights. That's almost 60% off. I used the PRICELINE link provided in this forum. Thanks.
  16. I tried to bid for 3.5 star hotels at $55, went to $50 for a 3* and got nothing. Eventually downgraded to a 2.5 star, bid $50 and got nothing. Added a re-bid zone and bid $55 and still got nothing. Added a second re-bid zone and increased my bid by $1 and got the Hodelpa Caribe Colonial, right in the historic zone of Santo Domingo. Total for the stay is $73 with taxes. Regular rate at the hotel is $65 plus taxes, totalling $80. In average, i just got a 10% discount. I used this same strategy right after getting the hotel confirmation and got the same hotel in a separate bid for the same dates. Lucky me for getting another room in the same hotel. Phew!!
  17. Booked this hotel on the last minute. $75 per night. Amenities were listed as follows: Non Smoking Rooms, Complimentary Breakfast, Fitness Center, Pool, Restaurant, Laundry and Internet. I think for a hotel level, this is the only hotel in San Domingo which offers complimentary breakfast. Location is perfect for tourists, complimentary parking, free wi-fi in rooms. Total with taxes came to $95.
  18. Got this hotel for $50 plus taxes for 1 night. I was wishing to get a 3 star but had no rebidding zones. Too bad. Anyway, good and clean hotel with breakfast, parking and internet, all free. Price was $55 at retail prices.
  19. Got this hotel for $50 plus taxes for 1 night. I was wishing to get a 3 star but had no rebidding zones. Too bad. Anyway, good and clean hotel with breakfast, parking and internet, all free. Price was $55 at retail prices.
  20. Booked this hotel for a short stay in NYC. Started by bidding at 4* US$150+ without luck. After trying many areas and lowering to 3* category, i increased my bid to $160 wishing to get an upgrade until finally getting this never before reported property on this forum. Hotel is boutique with a prime location on Lexington Avenue. Total came to $394 with taxes and fees for 2 nights. I was happy with my stay. Would recommend to anyone.
  21. The property is rated a 2 star by Priceline and 2.5 stars on other websites
  22. My brother in law bid for this area in New York trying to get the Fairfield Inn as i previously did last year twice with great success. To his surprise, after doing some homework about retail prices in LIC, he put his bid at $50 and got accepted in the first round at this new property. He was happy about this win because reviews for this property are very good and the hotel offers the same standard and amenities as the Fairfield Inn: free continental breakfast, free parking, free internet, close to subway station, great location to Manhattan, etc.... The hotel for this stay came up to $126 with taxes. I think that is a GREAT deal for NYC. Thanks.
