  1. Used the PRICELINE link, used rebids starting at $60 going up $5 to $75, then bumped up to $85 (including $5 bonus cash) on last bid and won the Paris. Happy with the deal, since it is Halloween weekend, good location, and it also doesn't have resort fees. We will see how the $20 trick goes, as well, seems like it works a decent amount here. Thanks, BB!
  2. Thanks, I happened to check that over, and saw Il Lugano has a sale going on Expedia and Hotels.com has a sale going until midnight for a Lugano Suite and a $25-50 gas card, it was only $109 a night for the suite, which was usually 2x that. Thanks!!
  3. Thanks, after digging more, I came to the same conclusion. Looks like a nice property, although a bit north of the main beach area, and a couple of blocks off of the beach, too. I may hold tight to see if new inventory comes up, and update a win on here if I get one. Thanks!
  4. I forgot to add that it had 95% of hotwire positive reviews, and 4.5 out of 5 on tripadvisor
  5. Checking in 7/26, checking out 7/28, 2 adults, using BB HOTWIRE link I found a 4* Ft Lauderdale beach area condo for $115 per night with the following amenities: Near Beach Studio Fully-equipped Kitchen Smoke Free Rooms Daily Housekeeping Air-Conditioning Washer and Dryer in Room Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) 24-hour Front Desk Laundry Facilities (self-service) High-Speed Internet Access Condo I believe this has showed up on here in the past, but has never been identified. Any educated guess at what it could be? Thanks!!
  6. Now I know who I get getting a counter from at $85/night, I had the same 2 days plus Sunday/Monday (9/9 - 9/13), so I would imagine $100 for Friday/Saturday, and $70 for Sunday/Monday.
  7. Thanks for post...I am thinking I will just ride out with the Hilton deal, which is great...if you are interested, I know they had a 3 day package as well for dirt cheap, all you do is have to sign up for a player's club card before you check in. I will keep using Hotwire as a general test for rates, and if they dip in the next 3 days, I will consider booking something through PL.
  8. I have spent quite a few weeks bidding on the strip and downtown (G Nugget only) with no luck. In all fairness, I am lowballing pretty bad, as I have a nice deal on the Hilton for 4 nights for $155. I have been trying for 3.5/4 stars in the $60-70 range, and 5 star in the $100-110 range. Trying to stay away from the 3 stars due to the high variability of quality. It seems through your hotel lists and winning bid history, if I stick to North and South Strip (and Condo/Trump) in the 3.5 to 4 star range (and my low dollar offers), I would be probably looking at the Flamingo, Luxor, The Trop, and the Westin. I have been placing bids for a while (mainly through your search links, sorry I was in a rush a few times :) ) and finally started getting some counter offers today on my $65 and $70 offers w/ 3.5 star minimum. The counter (well it is a free rebid with an increase) is for $85 a night. What are your thoughts on the most likely hotel to be offering this counter? As always, thanks for the great site...much better than "unfriendly" offerings!
  9. Used PRICELINE link, and $5 bonus cash per night. Walked up from $85 a night, rejected, countered at $105, which I rejected. Thought I would get it at $90, but it was rejected, so I went $5 more and it was accepted. Pretty consistent with other deals posted on here, and a great deal considering the lowest on their website is $329 a night. Thanks BB!
  10. Sorry, I left out the high speed, but it is on there! Thanks for catching it! The hotel was a very decent deal, although they are doing a little renovation. Nice free breakfast included, too. We just slept there, so it was perfect.
  11. Needed a hotel for a late arriving flight, and booked this yesterday through HOTWIRE, and used the BB link. Amenities: Smoke Free Rooms Complimentary Breakfast Fitness Center Pool(s) Business Center Laundry Facilities $45/night, almost $56 with tax. Seems like a good deal for the most part, although was hoping to get Hyatt Place. Thanks BB!
  12. This is the Holiday Inn, I booked the same, and am about to post my hotwire win.
  13. As an update, I was able to get a car at $11.95 a day through HOTWIRE, so for 5 days, $111 including tax. I can't wait to show off my Chevy Aveo on Ocean Dr! Prices were 3x that for weeks, so I was going to do the trick of renting a car via the UK Expedia site, which you get a nice pick up from exchange rate, plus gas and insurance included (I think this was about $170). I should have PRICELINE'd it, probably would have been cheaper. But I got so excited, I think I pee'd myself a little. Thanks!
  14. Used PRICELINE link plus bonus cash. I started around $70 total offer, and was accepted at the Hyatt Resort and Spa at $100 per night total offer. Thanks BB!!!
  15. Used PRICELINE link, plus bonus cash. Started at $60, and worked my way up to $97, knowing that was the cheapest anyone had got it for. Thanks BB!!
  16. Hi- Trying to find a good deal on a car in FLL. We are arriving at 10 PM on 8/19, and fly back out at about 8 PM on 8/24. We are spending our first 3 nights in Miami, and the last 2 nights in the Keys. When I search for FLL cars for the whole trip, I see $37.95 per day on hotwire, but if I change the return date to 8/23 at 10 PM, I get $20.95 per day. So, adding the last day on is making it go up about $17 a day. Any advice for a way to get around this, or find a car for about $20 a day? Thanks!
  17. Been trying for a while in St Pete/Clearwater Beach areas, with no luck. Was trying 3.5* up to $130, and 3* up to $105, with no success. Ended up going up to $135 a night, and got the Tradewinds Island Grand. Was a little bummed, as they add a $25 a day fee, and reviews seem so/so at times, but pool/beach area look great. All in with fees is about $180/night for 4 nights. Not sure if it is a Spring Break thing, but rates for that week were awful in all areas I looked (Sarasota included), as people were getting much lower rates the week or two before what I was looking for. Used PRICELINE link, thanks BB!
  18. 2 Rooms, 3/18 - 3/21 Bid $39 : rejected Added free zone, bid $42 : rejected Added free zone, bid $45 : rejected Added free zone, bid $47 : Accepted, Hyatt Place Sarasota I used Entertainment bucks for the $10 off per night, but will use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links in the future. I was trying to get the Hyatt Regency, which is a 4*, and went up to $76 per night with no success. Thanks BB!
  19. Selected amenities include: Restaurant(s), Pool(s), Fitness Center, Laundry Facilities (self-service) Thanks a lot!
  20. Hi, I saw an Ashley River 3* on Hotwire for March 2-3, I was wondering if you could help me identify this? Thanks a lot!
  21. Thereuare- What did you mean about the "no sense in getting a rental car?"
  22. Thanks Scott- We have just added another day to our trip, now the 19th-23rd, so that we will be able to see more. We do want to gamble, but we are also going to see things, we love going outside. It will also be a huge improvement from the weather in Michigan at the time! As far as the Valley of Fire goes, which is better, that or Red Rock Canyon? Or are they the same?!!? Thanks a lot! Jake
  23. Well, providing we can get out of bed in the morning, we were just going to see the Hoover Dam and then Red Rock Canyon another morning. I figured those would be 4 hours tops each, and we would be back by 1-2 PM. I also thought since it would cost money for cabs, and if we wanted to do one tour, we might as well rent a car since it is only about $105, and it would cost about that much for cabs and a tour. I Understand what you are saying about the hotel, I know she doesnt really care about the hotel thing, but I do like to stay in nice places and wasn't always too sure about the Tropicana, but she seemed fine with it, and since we got a free upgrade, the pool is open, and it was $35 a night, I thought we would go with it. I would like to stay at the Monte Carlo, they are the only hotel I haven't called about the pool being open and all that. Please feel free to comment and anyone else chime in, thanks a lot for your help again, I appreciate you going out of your way with your input. Jake
  24. Yeah, I wasn't as concerned about the $ thing either, but now I am going to rent a car and we are going to travel to nearby attractions, and since we won't be in the room too much, we might just go with it. Also, any advice on a rental car for a 23 year old driver? I found thru Orbitz a deal for like $75 for 3 days, but then $10 extra for "underage driver" fee. This was the lowest fee I could find. Thanks again, I will make sure you use your site and your link whenever I travel now! Jake
