  1. 10611 Chevrolet Way Estero FL, 33928, United States Offer Price: $85.00/night Number of rooms: 1 Room Number of nights: 2 Nights Room Subtotal: $170.00 Taxes & Fees: $29.46 Total Charged: $199.46 Started with the Betterbidding pl linik, of course. "Walk in" rate was $119 + taxes. Nice quiet room overlooking 'the Preserve'.
  2. Of course I started at the HOTWIRE link on the BB site. The rate had dropped by $1 overnight! I'm always surprised how much Taxes and fees there are, but still think this is a bargain for such a good (and well located) hotel. Thanks to thereuare for advise and betterbidding buddies for all the info. 3. Trying to get 2 nights 6th Aug - 8th Aug 2015. Started at BB site. Coming up with $88 per night "Hot rate". Amenities: • Free breakfast • Free Internet • Pet friendly • Smoke-free rooms • Fitness center • Restaurant(s) • Business center • Spa services Tripadvisor 4.5/5 Could this be the Buddha-Bar Hotel Budapest Klotild Palace? Thanks in advance for your help........ I did get so far with your Hotwire Helper button ($88 also 6th-8th August 2 nights Great Synagogue area). but when I press continue on that link it went to a broken link text - drat!!
  4. Panic - buying during the big Govt Shutdown! Decided to cut our road trip short all National Parks were shut and head for Las Vegas, at least there would be something to do. So “on the road” we didn’t have time to do PRICELINE. So we got a “HOTWIRE hot rate” deal. Now this really was a deal! NOTE although $25 per night resort fee was noted and mentioned on our e-mail, once we got to the hotel, the Reception made it optional. So what would we have got for $25 per night? Free 24 hr internet, use of luggage store a few other minor things. We decided we didn’t need it and found we could get good enough Wi-Fi in the in-house Starbucks. So that worked for us, must be one of the best HOTWIRE deals we have ever had. Our initial booking was 10/7-10/9/13 and then we added another date 10/6/13 which came up at the same rate (initial booking shown below). Convenient location, nice room. We like the buffet at the “Wynn” so North Strip was great for us. Free parking was convenient. Amenities Resort,Free Parking,Casino, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, Internet access, Golf Nearby, Tennis Nearby, Spa Services, Accessible for the blind, Accessible for the deaf, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Handicapped parking, Roll-in shower 2 nights Hotwire hot Rate Room@ $56.00/night $112 Tax $ 22.44 TOTAL 2 NIGHTS $134.44 (+ one other night same rate)
  5. Panic - buying during the big Govt Shutdown! We already had a very cute motel suite (full kitchen) booked for the night of 5th October but we had to change our plans to try and stay somewhere in Page for 4th, as well. So “on the road” we didn’t have time to do PRICELINE. So we got a “HOTWIRE hot rate” deal – not so very hot!! Only plus was they had a laundry room, so we could catch up with washing. Then the next night we moved into our motel right opposite which was half the price (I had fixed it up in January). Yes I did start from Betterbidding. Thanks to Thereuare for explaining how to get back the features you saw (in Hotwire, my account). Amenities Free Parking, Free Breakfast, Free Internet, Pool(s), Self service laundry, Accessible for the blind, Accessible for the deaf, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Handicapped parking, Roll-in shower. Cost $124 + tax $28.15 = $152.15
  6. Congratulations on your success! Good location. Spotlessly clean. Got this on a Hotwire deal, so happy with that. Can recommend. Spacious rooms with microwave and coffee maker. Double sinks. Maybe get a room on the 4th floor facing the city to see the lights. Go to tin angel cafe a block away for an excellent mid price meal out of the ordinary. Within walking distance of the Tourist information and the things to see and do at Temple Square. Be sure to see the roof top garden on top of the convention centre.
  7. Started from BB link, of course. Thanks to Thereuare and AaronJB. 9. Sorry thereuare. Confusion on dates - trying to use US formats I went a bit wrong! Its 1 night checkin Monday 6th May 2013 checkout Tuesday 7th May 2013.
  10. 3* Coming up in Hotwire for $68 5/6/13 to 7/5/13 1 night in Midway area of Tallahassee Can't see that area in your Hotel listings as identified. Of course started from BB. Had a try with PL already got to $55 so far, now need to wait for tomorrow (have had 3 tries adding new areas). So this Hotwire now looks good. Advice would be much appreciated. ============================================================================================================= Free Parking Free Breakfast Free Internet Pet friendly Fitness Center Pool(s) High-Speed Internet Access Accessible for the deaf Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Wheelchair accessible Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking
  11. Started, of course, with Better bidding. This Hotwire "hot rate" seemed better than recent Priceline wins. Last time we used A Hotwire hot rate (through BB) it was an absolute bargain. I was looking for free parking, since we will have a rental car on the way to visit Moab, Grand Canyon, Bryce, Zion, etc and didn't want to bump up the price with Valet Parking. It seems to have 4/5 on TripAdvisor so that will do nicely just for a 1 night stay. AMENITIES Free Parking Free Breakfast Free Internet Suite Indoor pool(s) Airport Shuttle Fitness Center Pool(s) Business Center Laundry Facilities (self-service) High-Speed Internet Access
  12. Good value for money. Room nice and clean with solo-coffee maker + supplies, shampoo, conditioner, body-wash and moisturizer supplied. Comfortable bed. Room a little noisy since it is quite near to a busy road + 2 lots of construction are nearby. Breakfast was Dunkin’ Donuts, coffee and juice. Convenient location, not far to walk to Historic Downtown. Can recommend “The Distillery” a 5 minute walk, with pub-grub and craft beers. Free wi-fi (slow) and free parking. A great stay for the price.
  13. Thunnderbird Inn Savannah, GA for $43 (hot rate) + fees = $55.19 total 611 West Oglethorpe Ave, Savannah,GA,31401 Check-in Thu, Nov 15, 2012 Check-out Fri, Nov 16, 2012 Amenities Free Parking Free Breakfast High-Speed Internet Access Golf Nearby Pleased with this for 2 reasons: (1) The hotel rack rate is $108 + fees & taxes. (2) We have actually stopped here some time ago - maybe 5 years ago (before I discovered Betterbidding, Hotwire and Priceline). It is an old motel done up to be a bit "Rock & Roll". Breakfast really is not that good (unless it has improved since we were there last) but it has free parking and is within walking distance of the historic area. I did start with the HOTWIRE link at betterbidding.........
  14. Trying to ID this hotel for night of 15th November, thinking it might be the Comfort Suites?: 2.5-star Hotel in Savannah Historic District This Hotel features the following amenities: High-Speed Internet Access, Guestrooms are equipped with high-speed Internet access; an extra charge may apply. Golf Nearby, Property is located within walking distance or a short drive of at least one golf course; an extra charge typically applies. Free Parking, <amenity names only please... not descriptions> Free Breakfast, <amenity names only please... not descriptions> Promise to start form Betterbidding when it all becomes a bit clearer! 15. Hi thereuare I have also now posted the hotel review on BB as requested under the HOTEL REVIEW section. As you see the additional fee ended up being a Resort Fee. I was surprised the other guy that did a review 11/4/10 did not mention the Resort Fee. The hotel said they had been charging this for some time. Thanks again for all the help from BB. I'm a big fan.
  16. Stayed for 7 nights here 23-30 Marc h 2011. Paid $85 per night to Priceline + tax & fees. Paid an additional $12.32 per night Resort Fee plus $15 + tax to the hotel. Hotel
  17. Last post on this trip. It turns out that the extra charge was a Resort Fee of $12.32 per night. I can not remember seeing that this would be the case. so it was a surprise to me. I know quite a number of Resorts do charge a resort fee, but in my minds eye I had read that this one did not. I knew it had a Parking fee, though. So the end result is if you get the Gran Malia Rio Grand, Puerto Rico beware you will get stung for an extra $12.32 per night resort fee and, if you have a car, an additional $15 + tax Parking fee. Still it was a lovely hotel at a good price............
  18. Hi BetterBidding Full review of Resort under heading "Great hotel - a bit remote, you need a car" posted 2nd April 2011. We did get a car for the whole time and it made the trip very good, we were able to go for less expensive meals and explore the island at a low cost. The resort was great but of course, 4 star hotel prices. An excellent tip is to join the
  19. Thanks everyone for advice. Thereuare, Yes I know this is well away from San Juan but I decided this was my best bet to get a good deal. Haven't quite worked out the transport side of things, but will do some homework before we go - trying to avoid a week's hire car, if possible. Maybe a taxi to resort? Anyway I will certainly write a post-holiday review to let you guys know how it went. The price certainly seems good for this Resort. Thanks again BigCheese
  20. Wanted a resort so tried San Juan resorts first starting at $85, adding free re-bids up to $110. Wasn
  21. Hi djones62 No I know there is no guarantee that a resort woudl be oceanfront, but I think it is fairly likely. I may go for the Hotwire deal I think. Best of luck with your own booking. BigCheese
  22. Romelle Thanks for info re school holidays. Yes I know I may have resort fees + the taxes (which are always a shock for Brits since Uk prices always have tax included so what-you-see is what-you-pay). I don't think I'm brave enough to split the 7 days, wouldn't want to move hotel half way through the week if it all goes belly up. I'll keep trying but may end up with the Hotwire deal, I think. Not sure if leaving it a while will make it worse or better (probably worse if it is school holidays) Don't suppose anyone knows if that "Rio Grande" area has a choice of restaurants etc? Thanks BigCheese
  23. Just got back from our New Orleans trip. Just to report that Intercontinental is perfectly placed for a trip to New Orleans. It was just a 5 minute walk from Canal Street, so we had the quiet we wanted but were very near to the French Quarter. Also there is a tram stop just at the edge of the block where the Intercontinental sits so we caught the tram for $1.25 each way up to the Garden district and did a self-guided tour of the Lafayette cemetery and the Garden District. Regarding the Hotel and room. The Hotel is a nice 4* with helpful staff. Our room was on the 8th floor, nice big beds, coffee maker etc. I think the room was just a little shabby (with some repairs showing on upholstery etc) so maybe we weren't given the very best room in the house... All-in-all we were really happy with the deal we got and I am most grateful to the Betterbidding crew for steering me to the CBD to get a better (and quieter) deal for our money. Thanks
