  1. I did a same-day booking and got the Fulton Steamboat Inn. Amenities were Fitness center, Pool(s), Self-service laundry.
  2. Amenities: Free Internet, Pet friendly, Fitness Center, Restaurant(s), Business Center, High-Speed Internet Access, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom I wanted this hotel, and "Pet friendly" is what made me reasonably sure it was the right one. I started my search by clicking the HOTWIRE link from this site.
  3. Yikes -- I can't let that one go. In New York State, you can't park within *15* feet of a hydrant!
  4. After a few failed bids at $40 and $45, I got this hotel for $50 ($64.83 including taxes and fees). I used this site's PRICELINE link to get started.
  5. Ok. Any idea what hotel this is? Also, it says it's recommended in 70% of reviews.
  6. For some reason, the board admin needs to know that I didn't book a room in the end.
  7. For some reason, the board admin needs to know that I didn't book a room in the end.
  8. Can anyone identify this 3 star hotel in Spartanburg, SC, which Hotwire lists for $79 for 10/8 - 10/10/2010? The amenities are: airport shuttle, fitness center, pool, restaurant, business center, laundry, high-speed internet I've never seen any posts here about Spartanburg, but it can't hurt to ask.
  9. My $33 bid for 2* in the Houston Galleria zone for 1/22 - 1/24/10 was just accepted by the Homestead Houston-Galleria. With tax it comes to $43 per night. EDIT: There's a typo in the subject line -- it should say 2*, not 3*.
  10. Based on tjw's post, I'm guessing that the 4* is the Intercontinental, and the 4.5* is the Omni.
  11. Any ideas what these Houston Galleria hotels could be, for 1/22/10 - 1/24/10? $73 4* pool, fitness, restaurant, business, internet $53 3* fitness, pool, business, laundry $49 2.5* pool, laundry, internet $122 4.5* pool, fitness, restaurant, business, internet $49 2* fitness, laundry, internet, kitchenette Could the Omni or Intercontinental have been changed back to a 4.5*? I want the Omni, but $122 isn't any better than the cancellable group rate I already have there. And I'd be fine with another hotel that isn't too far away.
  12. http://primospot.com has garage rates and on-street parking regulations for every block in most of Manhattan, as well as selected outer borough neighborhoods. To find out all the details of garage rates, follow the links to pictures of the rate signs. Many garages have deep discounts for weekday commuters -- early bird specials where you have to be in before 9 or 10 AM and leave before 6 or 7 PM.
  13. Well, it turns out I'm not saving money with this booking, since hyatt.com has rooms that night for $88. I tried to submit a low-price guarantee refund request to Hotwire, but got an error from the website, so I had to call them. The refund went through (woo hoo, fun times with my two dollars!). But after taxes and fees, I'm still losing money, since Hotwire charged $103.34 with taxes ($105.34 minus the $2), while hyatt.com charges $100.72 with tax. I asked if they could give me anything for my trouble, and they said they'd forward my request to their research department. HOTWIRE is now offering rooms at that hotel for $79.
  14. Any idea what hotels these might be, for 12/10/09: $49 New Haven - West Haven, 2*, no amenities listed $65 Bridgeport - Shelton, 2*, laundry $59 Stamford - Old Greenwich, 3*, fitness, pool, restaurant, business, laundry, internet, tennis (did the Sheraton add internet?) $63 Stamford - Old Greenwich, 2.5*, breakfast, fitness, pool, business, laundry, internet $59 Stamford - Old Greenwich, 2*, breakfast, restaurant, business I'm looking for a hotel within a 10 minute walk of a train station. Thanks!
  15. I just booked a room for $89 on 12/11/09, at the Hyatt Regency Cambridge. Amenities: Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, High-speed Internet Access, Tennis Nearby
  16. This is the second booking I made to get the 3 nights I needed, since the Crowne Plaza didn't show up if I searched for all 3 nights together. See the 8/14-8/16 thread for details.
  17. EDIT: The subject line got cut off, and had a typo in the star rating. The full subject should have been: 3* Los Angeles (Redondo-Manhattan Beaches) Crowne Plaza, $99 8/14-8/16, $69 8/16-8/17 I just won a bid at the Redondo Beach Crowne Plaza. I needed this specific hotel, and the tennis amenity was the way to identify it among the 3-star hotels in the zone. (The amentities, as expected, were Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Laundry Facilities, High-speed Internet Access, Tennis Nearby.) I couldn't get it to appear for all 3 nights I needed. Even getting the two separate bookings was tricky, as I needed to search multiple times over the course of the day to get a booking that included Saturday night 8/15. With any luck the hotel won't make me change rooms in the middle of my stay.
