Several times on Priceline confirmations I've called the hotel direct to check on the reservation, and they'll say the request came through for a Smoking room - when clearly you couldn't request that via Priceline even if you wanted to. I STRONGLY recommend that you always call the hotel direct and speak with reservations [or the front desk on day of arrival] to double check and make sure you get the room type [nonsmoking] that you want. Naturally, Priceline customer service is ignorant and not helpful at all.

2* Breezewood $65 - no, add Bedford $70 - no, 3* Bedford $85 no, add 2* Breezewood $80 - yes Problem: BestWestern.com offered a lower online price [nevermind any cost savings from Priceline] - without the extra service fees. Called Priceline customer service - and as EVERY other time I've dealt with them, they are HORRIBLE. Took about 30 minutes and 2 agents, including a supervisor [all the while they're making all sorts of claims about how there's nothing they can do] before they agree to refund the difference + $25. Only they're refunding them based on the BASE price of the hotel, while retaining their extra $10 service fee. So in reality they only refund you $15 - a complete fraud from what their guarantee says. And in a typical Priceline screwup, the hotel received the confirmation as a request for a smoking room with 2 beds. This Bestwestern is really a motel, and I believe only the breakfast makes it rise from a 1*.

Bid $75 *3, reject, add *2.5 reject, added Attleboro area, reject Bid $85 reject, $90 reject for Woonsocket area only. Finally accepted $95 for Smithfield property. Only real competition in the area appears to be Hampton Inn.

1st bid accepted. Old hotel but unique rooms, downtown, $8 valet parking if you can't find street.

$65 Knoxville East rejected, added downtown rebid for $60 accepted. Parking is NOT free, but front desk waived it.

Opening bid $100 4* USE - no - add Financial District - no - increase to $125, add Union Square West - no, decreased to 3.5* accepted 8/15/11-8/16/11

First bid $120, Priceline countered with an offer of $154, took it as there wasn't enough time to wait 24 hours an rebid. Hotel refused to allow 2 double beds, said Priceline rooms are only king beds - so beware.

Bid $75 first time, rejected. Bid $80 for 2nd party, rejected. Waiting to rebid.

Chose 5*, fist bid of $95 accept for 8/8-8/10/11. Bid $85 accepted for 2nd room. Used the PRICELINE link from here.

Bid 5 *, then added 4* - expected the Meridien or Hilton but got accepted at this property for $95 8/7/11 one night. Bid $90 and accepted at same property for 2nd room. Rated as high or higher at Tripadvisor, so we'll see. Used the PRICELINE link from here.

After reading what others had done, bid $85 twice [2 separate rooms] and got the Maritim. They offer a non-refundable directly at 96 Euros, which is still a good savings on Priceline, despite their $30 tax/fee extra. Used the PRICELINE link from here.

First tried $95 for 4*, rejected, added 3.5* rejected, added 3*, rejected Later used the PRICELINE links from this site again, same as above only used $105, with 3* finally accepted. Not much of a savings as regular rate is $132, so $105 + fees is close. Not well reviewed hotel - just hope it's not a standard no-window room, and location will be good :)

Originally bid $51 as per other bids here, then Priceline responded that if I bid $14 more, they would not change any of the categories as I wanted downtown. Got the Westin, not as well-reviewed as some others, but still a great deal when the price listed for those dates is $215. I did bid through the PRICELINE link on this site, and when offered the new bid, it was still within the browser window, so I didn't have to go back through the this site to rebook.
