  1. public transportation is very spotty in most parts of los angeles. and, the transportation we do have, can get iffy during the late and early morning hours. if you would rather not change hotels for a couple of days, i would suggest staying in downtown l.a. there are 3 subway lines that eminate from downtown l.a. with lines ending up in hollywood, pasadena and long beach. you could walk to all three lines from staples center. and dodger stadium is about a 5 min taxi ride from downtown. there are also a couple of bus lines that run all day long and well into the night 2 blocks from the stadium. and as far as nightlife, l.a. has become soo much better in the evening. it really depends what kind of scene you want. there's touristy spots, high-end, artsy, music scenes, wine bars, etc. all within about 5 min of each other. good luck.
  2. hello all. i'm attempting to purchase tix thru priceline. in order for me to get a discounted fair price, (price line chooses your departing and return times) for about $85.00 cheaper i am running the risk of having to leave early morning on my departure date. e.g. i'm departing lax on sun, 08.30 w/ an overnite flight. (which is fine, i'd like to get into Amherst MA. by mid morning) however, priceline will choose the departure time on wednesday, 09.02.2009 anytime between 6 am and 10 pm. my question is, does anyone have any experience as to when priceline may choose a departure time. i'm shooting for a late as possible departure time so that i can spend some extra time in Amherst. this deal also includes a room and rental car. thx.
