  2. As always want to thank everyone for posting their results.. Started bid at $75, NoGo, priceline countered for $95, declined. Bumped bid to $80 adding Carmel and Viola accepted.
  3. $51 on first bid. thought I would have to do $53, oh well, can't complain. Used the PRICELINE link. Thanks everyone for feeding back (Looks like too many chars...$51 per night for Anaheim Marriott Suites from 7/6/10-7/8/10)
  4. Was hoping to get a place closer to UCLA for open house. Tried for the areas closer to UCLA yesterday, but got into the $100s with no luck. Decided to stay near LAX for the much lower prices. Started at $40 for LAX and got rejected, added 2 and Lawndale and hit on Hilton. Thanks to all for posting your experiences.
  5. Pasadena has a 'No overnight parking without a permit' policy. Frequently there will be NO signs describing this rule. I parked my car on a block where the only sign said "2 hour parking, 9AM-6PM". I figured it would be ok to park there overnight. In the morning, I had a citation for $42.50. Apparently they have signs indicating this policy when you get off the freeway. Also these citations are impossible to contest. What a sham.
  6. $67 Seems to be the going rate for this hotel. I tried $60 and $64 last night and then $65 and $67 tonight. Hit on $67. Needed 3 rooms, which did not seem to matter one way or another. Thanksgiving holiday doesn't seem to matter either. Thanks to all who list here and the moderators.
  7. Thanks again for all the great advice! I started bidding at $80 for 4* and rebid 6x in increments of $5 for a final bid of $110.....still no luck. I started over with 3+* and $75 at Pike Place no luck. -Added Space Needle and bumped to $80...ACCEPTED! Property Name: Silver Cloud Hotel Broadway Address: 1100 Broadway Seattle, Washington 98122 I was hoping to be west of I5, but hey can't complain at all about this deal... -3 rooms + trip insurance + tax + service fees for just under $300. Tx again...love this site.
  8. Hi - Thanks to the admins and users of this board for the great information and help. I am a first time user of PRICELINE (and I used the board's link to get there.) I am attempting to book three rooms in Seattle (Pike Place area) for Thursday night the 6th of August. After looking at the calendar and reading some of the posts here, I saw that rooms were going for 70 and 80 at the Westin. As mentioned, I need three rooms. I decided to bid $75 per room, but I was denied. I'm not sure I want to expand search to include Space Needle area yet, so a couple of questions first.. 1. When bidding for more than one room, is it generally better to bid higher or lower than what I see in the calendar? or is it just a matter of chance. 2. Can I rebid in 24 hrs or is it 72 hrs? Tx again
