Thanks for your suggestion. In the past I have had no prob. booking this hotel (priceline/only 2.5 star in this area)... what do u suppose is the unavailablity at this time? And is it maybe too early to look for availability at this time? Thanks again for any suggestions

This place is a must-stay for me. Am wanting to book this hotel at Christmas till day or 2 after New Years, and possibly in Oct or Nov (10 day or so stay). Have had great luck, for the most part, on priceline (average 45.00/nite) but I am not finding any availability for Res. Inn/Manhattan Beach other than within next week or so on priceline (by looking at pricing on packages/availability). Anyone have any suggestions? Maybe it's too soon to look for availabity for these dates? I need to get the hotel first (I was thinking) before making plane res... any help/suggestions would be appreciated. DLS

Actually bid 65.00, w/no luck for a 3*/Santa Monica for 11/15-11/19 (and also had no luck at 65.00 for a 4*/LAX/Westin either w/PL. :) Am trying to find the Westin and the Sheraton Gateway both on hotwire but am only seeing Gateway Sheridan when I look under 'hotels' -yet under pacakages both hotels are there..... Make sense?

OK another question, the Westin LAX and Sheraton Gateway Los Angeles are both available (hotwire) for my dates 11/15-11/19 - but am not seeing what looks like the Westin LAX when I actually pull up hotels for LAX. Am I missing something? Any suggestions for figuring out the Westin on hotwire, or is it just a chance and I will get one of them? Thanks much:)

PS: One more question: if anyone knows of a suite hotel w/full kitchen in santa monica, marina del ray or manhattan beach, can you please suggest anything for a hotwire purchase? Sure would be lovely to have these amenties along with free parking if anyone knows of anything... dates 11/15-11/19 - something compartable to residence inn...? Hello - I did post to this topic and cannot find the post so here it is again. Cannot bid on PL as I am out of bids now (I did rebid and rebid adding areas w/no 4* hotels, with none left at the moment), but did go up to 65.00, w/no luck for a 4* at LAX on PL. So to be sure for me to get the Sheraton Gateway - what do I do? If it's on hotwire, per last posts re: this topic I am assuming that the 77.00/night is the Sheraton Gateway, yes? Thanks very much, guess it's time for me to purchase since I am leaving for LA next week... Sure am surprised not to have gotten the Westin at 65.00 per some recent posts here, guess one never knows... Would it be risky to wait fothe 72 hours or since time is a bit short, should I purchase on hotwire now?

Well, I tried PL bids of 50.00, then 55.00, 57 then 60.00 w/no luck for a 4* at LAX. Thought for sure I would get the Westin, but nothing. Can anyone help me w/any bid suggestions. Do not mind a 3* but do not want to end up at holiday inn... Santa Monica would be great, but no holiday inn... Thanks in advance. Dates needed: 11/15-11/19

PS: I am reading, if I am correct, that a 4* in the LAX area would be the Westin (seeing the successful bid of 40.00/per nite). Is this correct or could I end up somewhere else? Thanks much-

Hello, Thanks for the earlier help. I am stuck now, leaving next week for LA, and need a hotel from 11/15-11/19. Looks like I am going to have to bid on another hotel in the LA area besides Residence Inn (no availablity on PL at this hotel for my dates). I am considering LAX area (am thinking I can get the Westin/LAX) but would love to stay in Santa Monica but do not want a 3* like the Marriot. Can I please get some feedback for Santa Monica hotels (a nice one, hopefully) - I will have a rental car and would love free parking if at all possible... And I'm thinking as much as I would love a full kitchen like Res Inn, there is no hope at another hotel. Any guidance or bidding suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Hello, On Hotwire I am finding a 4 Star hotel near LAX, amenities include: Airport Shuttle, Restaurant(s), Pool(s), Fitness Center, High-Speed Internet Access, Business Center - says it's a customer favborite. Any idea what hotel this is? It says $77 per room per night /"Best Value". Thanks much, I need a hotel w/in 2 weeks and am running out of time. PL is not showing availability for the hotel I always stay at, so am getting concerned. Unfortunately I won my hotel on PL and had to split up bids so am now w/out that hotel for 4 days:(

London, last year on PL we bid US99.00/night for kensington area, got a 4 star hotel on first bid try. Hope this helps. Wasn't the best and largest room, but the price was amazing considering it was London/Kensington.

Sorry about the multiple posts... Per your request and to share with the board, I did place a successful bid on PL. Since I always try to stay at residence inn (manhattan beach, ca) I have learned from lots of experience, to bid on PL on area= 'manhattan beach/redondo beach - 2.5 star hotel around 50.00 (or less, not more) and I did get it when I broke it up one night (11/14-11/15). Thus far no luck on the other dates I need... In fact they are showing availablility 11/14-11/19 (and by the way I did also win other bids breaking up one day at a time from 11/19 - 11/22 - PL bids same above info at 50.00 per night... I have been checking PL through packages to see if the Res Inn is available, and it is one day not the next... Will let everyone know if I get the other days... so far no luck. Strange, I've never had a bid rejected with the above formula for this hotel. So - if u want Residence Inn/Manhattan Beach, CA - bid on PL area: Manhattan Beach/Redondo Beach - a 2.5 star (not 2 or 3) hotel - 50.00 or under... AND for another free bid, simply add Bel Air/Brentwood (there are NO 2.5 star hotels) and walla... Best and blessings DS

I have successfully bid and won on PL for Residence Inn/Manhattan Beach and have only been able to get a few days on this trip successfully w/PL bids of 50.00/night. Even tho PL is showing availability for the dates I need which are 11/15-11/19, I have had no success... So am now considering any nice Suite hotel in the MB area, I need a full kitchen and would love to have free parking as I have a rental car. Any help would be great. Just for the record, bid on a 2.5 star hotel/MB/Redondo area and you will get Res Inn, normally exclusively (until now:) Best and blessings! DS
