  1. I was orig awarded The Roosevelt in MTE 3.5 stars back in Oct for $150/night. Sister got ill and the trip got cancelled. Priceline refunded all my money. We have rescheduled for 12/2-12/6 and I cannot get a bid accepted for 3.5 stars for less than $200/night. At this rate I an going to haver to book a Hampton in Jersey (newark-harrison-riverwalk), the same one my hubby stayed at and they have a shuttle that takes you to Jersey Penn, then from there the train to Penn in NYC. That hotel is $139/night. I am thinking it might be worth a little inconvenience to pay this.
  2. My NYC trip was had to be postponed for Oct due to my sister falling ill and hospitalized. Priceline did give me a full refund with no penalty. But we rescheduled for Dec 2-6th and all my bids have been rejected. I previously had 3.5 star in MTE for $150/night. I'll try again.
  3. Date of the stay is Tue Oct 20th. $57 LAX Hilton Amenities listed were airport shuttle fitness center pool restaurant business center laundry facilities high speed internet access
  4. Hi, I also was just awarded this hotel 1 night next week. My husband and friend are attending a job interview at this hotel and wanted to stay there. Through Hilton Honors they had it booked at $189/night. Hotwire-$57. What a screaming deal. I used the HOTWIRE link from this website.
  5. So are these fees automatically on top of your winning bid? Does anyone know? What if you do not use the amenities like the gym, internet, etc ?
  6. Which hotel is this? Hotwire has it for $102/night. My guess is that it is the South Point. I'm going the weekend of Nov 6th-8th. 2 adults, 2 young kids. We will have a car. Casino Property offers a full-service casino accessible from the lobby. Fitness Center Guests have access to exercise equipment; an additional charge may apply. Restaurant(s) Property offers at least one restaurant on the premises; hours and days of operation may vary. Business Center Guests have access to business equipment and services; an additional charge may apply. High-speed Internet Access Guestrooms are equipped with high-speed Internet access; an extra charge may apply. Golf Nearby Property is located within walking distance or a short drive of at least one golf course; an extra charge typically applies. Please note that Hotwire cannot guarantee the level of services offered at a property and/or if services are operational at the time of visit. Services may be closed due to seasonality reasons and/or may be closed for renovation. Thanks....as always I'll use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links provided on this site. Kim
  7. The kids are ages 1 and 5, so they are young. Most hotels do not charge for kids this age do they?
  8. I recently used this website and priceline and got a killer deal for NYC. It is just me and my sister though so I'll call and see if we can get 2 beds but we are ok with one if they won't give us 2. However me hubby and 2 kids were going to big for a weekend in Vegas, I want 4 star hotel but do not want to pay $200 a night. We need 2 beds though. Should I go ahead and bid? What is the likligood they will try to give us a King or 1 double?
  9. You are going the exact same dates I am but I am staying until 10/18. I got a 3.5 star in MTE for $150 it was the Roosevelt.
  10. Thanks and yes this seems to be expensive as I bid this exact thing a month ago and it was declined and I think I went up to $160. The lowest I have seen previously was 3.5 stars for $179/night on Hotwire so I think $150 is a good deal for Fall. Rooms appear to be a bit dated but people on the TA board said it is a nice hotel in a great location with a fabulous lobby.
  11. I did use the PRICELINE link provided by this website. Not sure I am totally happy with my hotel but I think overal we got a good deal. I bid $150/night for 3.5 star 2 adults for Oct 14th-18th and got the Roosevelt Hotel Midtown East. Reviews on Tripadvisor are all over the board to great hotel to terrible. Seems like it is old but a good deal. How do I add this to the calandar of wins? Kim
  12. That same 3 stay hotel in midtown central is now $147 on HOTWIRE so I rebid a 3.5 stay for $160 and it was declined. My travel period must be peak.
  13. Right now the lowest I have seen is hotwire for $154.00 a night for 3 star Midtown Central. What hotel is this likely? I was hoping to get a 3.5 or 4 star for this in any of the above zones I mentioned. 3-star hotel in Midtown Central This hotel features the following amenities: Fitness Center Guests have access to exercise equipment; an additional charge may apply. Restaurant(s) Property offers at least one restaurant on the premises; hours and days of operation may vary. Business Center Guests have access to business equipment and services; an additional charge may apply. High-speed Internet Access Guestrooms are equipped with high-speed Internet access; an extra charge may apply.
  14. I bid $130/night for 3.5 starts in MTE, MTW, MSG, ETS, TS and bids were rejected. Someone here got the 4 star Crowne Plaza in TS for $130/night I think, she just posted her win and she is staying only a few nights before me. Help?
  15. Ok need some help. First of all I did not orig use the PRICELINE link provided on htis site, I totally forgot. So after my first bid got rejected, I remembered I need to use your link to get credit so I started over using the PRICELINE link provided :). I will continue to use your link. Is this ok? All my bids so far have been rejected. I am bidding 3.5-4 stars stars in MTE, MTW, Chelsea, and Empire State Bldg. My bids up to 135/night have been rejected. Am I being a total cheap skate?I would rather not stay in TS too noisy and way too crowded but I will if I have too. I do not see MSG on my map of the zones, if it is convenient I'll take your word for it. So what do you recommend I do for 4 star and 3.5 which zones and price? Thx..
  16. Hi, I've decided to bid on priceline first, and see what I can get in a couple zones. I'll take 3.5 stars in MTE, MTW, or Empire State (MTS). If I cannot get anything for around 150/ni then I'll look into booking the Hampton Inn Harrison Waterfront in Newark. My hubby just stayed there and said it really was not that inconvenient.
  17. HI new here. Will use the PRICELINE link provided if I decide to go this route. NYC hotels are so expensive I was either going to book Priceline or stay in Newark where there is a couple inexpensive Hampton Inns which I love. Sister wants to stay in Manhattan if possible. Can we get a 3.5 or 4 star hotel in Manhattan for Oct 15th for 4 or 5 nights for 2 adults, for around $150/night? With the economy being bad have hotels lowered their pricing? What zone and what should I bid and what hotel should I expect? I did read the hotel list. There are so many zones in Manhattan but they really are only a few miles from each other right? How far apart is midwtown east and west? The subway pretty much takes you anywhere right? We just wanrt to enjoy nightlife, see a play, shop, dinner,etc.. Are prices in Chelsea or Greenwich a little lower? What zones do you recommend I avoid? I was in NYC a few years ago and already seen the statue of libery, empire state, etcs so I do not care to do that again. Thx! Kim
