  1. I would pay $50-90 for a 4 star downtown. The problem is that University Place typically gobbles up any bids over $54. There are actually 3 & 3.5 star hotels that are much better downtown. Can you bid at a lower level star rating? I think that they can substitute a higher star rated hotel if you do so. HOTWIRE isn't showing much downtown. I know that we can usually the airport Raddision for $35. Nice hotel, but just not in the thick of things. It is still better than University Place.
  2. We will be staying in Indy after the colts game. Is there any bidding stategy to avoid University Place downtown. I typically like to bid at the 4 star level University Place is not even close to being a nice hotel and is inconvenient due to the distance from the main downtown area. If it isn't possible, I would rather just stay near the airport at the Raddison or Crown Plaza. Thanks in advance for your help!
  3. Thanks for all of your help. They decided to take the Loews deal of 135 per night. Just not gutsy enough to go for a better deal through priceline. I forwarded them this link so I think they will book through Better Bidding.
  4. Just one room is needed. They also have 5 kids and will be traveling without them. A goal for them is to catch up on sleep & have fun.
  5. My family is coming into town to visit and we live in Eastport. This is about a mile from the downtown area. I want to avoid the Sheraton etc. Downtown is closer to us and will be more fun for them to walk around etc. Thanks again! I will definitely use the links for any reservation. I did notice the Loews on special for 135 per night. That seems like a prettty good deal...
  6. I have friends and family coming into town this Thurs - Sun. I have used priceline in the past to get people into the Westin. I think that it was rated at 4 star at some point. Looking at the list of hotels. 3.5 stars in the Annapolis downtown areas shows - Ocallagan, Westin, & Loews. Any suggestions on an approach to get the Westion or is it just luck of the draw? I am assuming the other two properties are fairly good too. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
  7. Hello, I am trying to reserve a hotel for family coming into town this weekend. Is the Westin the only 4 star property in the Annapolis area on hotwire. They are showing the ammenities to be - weights, dining, business center, and high speed internet. Thanks in advance for your help!
  8. The plans are uncertain now for this weekend due. It is an illness, so I am glad we didn't lock in to a room yet. I'll let you know if we move forward. This site is awesome!
  9. Tank you for the help! Not sure what you mean about the rebid zone being different than Pricelines? I have rebid using different zones that do not offer 4 star to get another chance. Is this what you mean? In any event, I am trying to stay with friends near Columbia University. I thought the UWS would be the best bet, but you may have other suggestions. Also, I have a 2 year old, and thought the safest bet would be a 4 star. That is definitely a consideration. Thanks!
  10. I would like to keep it low, but anything under $200 including taxes. Thanks!
  11. Stayed for 3 great nights on two weekends during the Colts NFL playoffs. The hotel was extremely accomodating and the bid was 34 & 35$ per night. Very pleased!
  12. Thank you for all of the great suggestions. I had to pull the trigger on the Diplomat with our conference discount. I couldn't take the chance of entertaining and having to worry about travel to another hotel. Sorry for not posting ealier!
  13. Betting bidding has been a great resource for me in the past. This site is awesome! However, I am clueless when it comes to NYC. Looking for suggestions for a good hotel/bid near the UWS on 4/3. I would like the 4* level. If I am correct, it looks like the Empire is the only hotel in this area and star level. Any suggestions on what to bid for this property? I was thinking $130. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
  14. Thanks for the replies. I guess to be certain I should just pay full price for the diplomat. What ammenities + ratings make the diplomat more of a sure thing?
  15. Is the Crowne Plaza within walking distance of the Diplomat?
  16. No doubt it would be a nice hotel. I am trying to stay at the same place as some friends. They are booked at the diplomat. The listing is no longer up. They now have a 4* resort with - non smoking in the icon list. and a 4.0 trip advisor rating. This all changes pretty fast.
  17. Thanks in advance for your help on this one. My arrival dates are June 29 - July 2.
  18. Hello, This is my first time using this board. What a great find this is! Trying to ID a 4* hotel in Hollywood Beach, FL for an upcoming trip. Ammenities are below - 3 nights at 80 per night. Resort, Boutique, Beach near, Fitness, Pools, Dining, Internet, & golf nearby. Other ammenities that pop-up - Spa & tennis. 4.9 trip advisor rating Can I be pretty sure that this is the Diplomat? I want to make sure that I get this specific hotel. Thanks!
