  1. Thanks for letting me know. I may need to change my plan. That is out of budget. Does anyone have an idea about what I should bid for a 3.5?
  2. Yes, I would pay more. Maybe up to 75 if I could get a good 4 star, and less for a 3.5. I just would like a nice place that is convenient to the ball game. Thank you very much for your suggestions .
  3. Hello, I am planning on staying one night downtown and catching the Cards this Fri. Any suggestions on price to enter in Priceline for a 3.5 to 4 star to be successful? I bid 45 hoping to get the Hyatt . Unfortunately tat didn't work. Any help would be great. Thanks!
  4. Yes, very excited to stay at the hotel again. It will only be a quick stop over on our way to Boca Grande. Just hoping for some warm weather to enjoy the beach!
  5. Sorry, my mind has been elsewhere this week. The Intercontinental - 4 Star @ 47. This ends up right ar $60 with tax.
  6. I gave it one more chance with PRICELINE. My next bid of $47 was accepted. This ends up being less than the HOTWIRE option of $62 + taxes & fees. Thank you again for all of your help. I have stayed here before and it is a nice option when you need a hotel close to TPA. Plus it has complimentary parking. This board is awesome!
  7. I gave a 4 star in the Westshore area a shot for $41 on Priceline. They declined but offed a $56 deal. At $56 with taxes it will end up being within a couple dollars of the hotwire rate. I may try again, but I am leaning toward just going with the hotwire rate. Thanks again for all of your input!
  8. Thanks for the quick help on this. I noticed that you have to pay for parking at the Embassy Suites. This is a concern, but you really can't control it. How much less do you think I could get a 4 star & a 3.5 star on priceline. And, to have a chance at the Intercontinental, should I bid using the Westshore zone? Thanks & I will make sure to use your links!
  9. Thank you for the quick response! Well, I could go pick my wife up at TPA. That is an option if Priceline would be a significant savings. Please give your input if that is the case. The hotel ammenities are listed below - $62 - 4 star - Shuttle, Non smoking, weights, pool, dining, business center, internet, 95% satisfaction $55 - 3.5 star - shuttle, weights, pool, dining, business center, internet - 90% satisfaction Thanks again!
  10. Back to looking again on the same date - Dec. 17th. I am looking to get a 3.5 - 4 star near airport. Hotwire has a $62 option on the westshore for a 4 star, and a $55 option for a 3.5 star. My guess is that the 4 star is the Intercontintental & the 3.5 star is the Doubletree. My hope is to get a shuttle too, because my wife will be on a later flight. Please help with strategy and questions below. - Do you think the hotels are the Intercon & Doubletree? - Can I get a better price with Priceline? If so, what amount should I try to get a hotel in this area with a shuttle. Thanks!!
  11. Thanks for the quick response and the help. Are there some hotels in the area that people really like, and I should try for? I am not traveling for a while, so I will probably wait until early Dec. to bid. Plans can change, etc. this far away from a travel date.
  12. Thanks for all of the input. We ended up booking the Westin for 169 for the club level. This came to 197 with taxes. A little more than I wanted to pay, but I thought the Sheraton would be too far to walk after the game, etc. Fun weekend in Indy, and I will click the links for my next trip!
  13. Hello, I will be traveling with my family to FL on December 17th. I would like a nice hotel by the airport that has a shuttle. I am traveling with a 2 year old & my wife is flying in later that night. A shuttle would be ideal. What is the minimum that I can get a 3.5 - 4 star hotel with on Priceline during this timeframe? I think I stayed at the Intercontinental a couple of years ago and that is pretty nice. Just looking for input on what hotel to try for and cost. Thanks!
  14. Does the 85% satisfaction make a difference. I saw another bid win and it was the crowne plaza. That would be close to the stadium & fun.
  15. There is now a 3.5 star downtown area hotel on hotwire Nov 1- Nov 2. It is showing - non smoking, business center, pool, internet access, weights & dining - 85% approval. This is definitely more in the budget if it is a good hotel and in close proximity to Lucas Oil. Any idea on what this might be? It would be a savings from my 169 westin reservation. Thanks!
  16. I think that I am going to end up staying with the Westin reservation for 169, unless rates drop on Hotwire, etc. Thank you for your help!
  17. Thanks! I will let you know what we end up doing. They are also considering using priceline in the downtown zone at a 3.5 star level. It looks like the possibilities are - the Westin, Leows, and Ocallahan. The thought is that they might be able to get a much lower rate by doing this. It looks like bids for the westin and ocallahan have been accepted in the 45-55 range.
  18. The 4 star property with the same ammenities dropped to $79. Is this likely to be the Westin? Thanks!
  19. Right now, only one hotel is popping up with HOTWIRE. I can't determine what hotel this is? It lists - non-smoking, exercise, pool, dining, business center, & internet. The current price is 152. Do rates on HOTWIRE often go lower when the date gets closer? This price is only slightly less than my reservation at the Westin. Thanks
  20. That is great, thank you for the code. I will monitor HOTWIRE for a few days, but plan on locking in with your deal. I will let you know, and will use the links. Thanks!
  21. I would like to get a good hotel for the MNF game in Indy on 11/1 - departing the next day. Priceline is risky due to the likelihood of getting University Place at the 4 star level. Is there a strategy to get a good hotel closer to Lucas Oil on gameday with hotwire? I have a reservation at the Westin for 169 on the club level, but I would like to spend a little less and still get a comparable hotel. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
  22. We are planning on staying in Indy for the Colts game on November 1st. It would be great to use priceline, but I think the scenario is the same as my last trip. Thanks!
  23. Thanks for your help on this. The dates are November 23 through November 27th. Right now PRICELINE is showing the Westin for $95. Bidding on PRICELINE might be too risky. HOTWIRE might also not provide that much of an advantage. The 4 star listed is currently only at $84. Please let me know your thoughts. Thanks!
  24. Ended up avoiding the downtown area due to the possibility of getting University Place. Won the Raddison airport for $35 for the same dates. The priceline option in downtown Indy remains a problem. University place is an inferior hotel and is located too far from the main downtown area. It is in no way a 4 star property.
  25. Hello, I have family coming Annapolis for Thanksgiving. They have stayed at the Westing & would very much like to stay there again. Two questions below: There is a 4 star property on Hotwire for $84 - Ameneties - Non-smoking, weight room, swimming, dining, business center, internet, and golf nearby. 95% approval. Is this likely the Westin? For Priceline, it looks like zone 2 includes only downtown hotels and not ther Sheraton etc, by the mall. If you use Priceline, are you likely to get the Leows or the Westin? Thank you for your help!
