1. I had tried yesterday and got a $50 bid for the area rejected. I was kind of hoping that it would be the Mirabeau (also a 3 star) but this hotel will work out OK, and it has a free breakfast which is a bonus. I used the PRICELINE link from these pages, as always.
2. Deffo looking forward to it! Couldn't see any other amenities under trip details, but the accessibility options were listed: Accessible for visually impaired Accessible for hearing impaired Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Accessible parking Roll-in shower Cheers Richard
3. I was totally expecting this hotel - it's the one we wanted and the price with tax was under $500 (it was actually $485), so I'm happy. This is usually the only 4* listed in the Marina at this sort of price, but in case it helps, here's its amenities: Near beach Oceanfront hotel Fitness center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business center Internet access Spa services And 85% approval. I clicked a link from these pages to make my booking. Thanks!
4. So I'm noticing that there's currently (although it does fluctuate) a $20 price difference between the two ways to book on Hot.wire. It's cheaper using Rate.Drop. Do you guys still get the credit from RateDrop? Thanks Richard
5. Just to add to the discussion a bit, I'm going back to Oahu, and will be booking a hotel for a few days in mid-March. We stayed at the Hawaii Prince last year, and I loved it. All the rooms face the ocean, and it's a very short walk to the beach in front of the Hilton, and there's a super cheap breakfast place across the street. The only thing I don't like is the $30 per night parking, but that's hard to avoid in Waikiki, so I think I'm going to wait for it to come down to about $130 on HOTWIRE (sorry, I know this is a PRICELINE thread!), and just go for it I think!
6. Needed to find a room for some folks coming to Pullman for a badminton tournament. It was quite easy to figure out what the hotel was in Express Deals. I had called the hotel, but the best price they could offer me was $99+ tax a room, so this was much better, and much appreciated by the Canadians coming to play! As always, I used the PRICELINE link from these pages to make my purchase.
7. Sorry - meant to say that I used the PRICELINE link from this site, as always. Keep up the good work!
8. This is my annual post about this hotel. I saw that a three star was being offered in Express Deals for $65, so I tried on Name Your Own Price for $58. Rejected, but asked me if I'd like to bid for $70. So I bid $60 (adding North Spokane because it doesn't have any 3* hotels) and was successful, and it was exactly the hotel I wanted.
9. I used the HOTWIRE link from these pages. It was fairly clear that it was going to be this hotel, and I've enjoyed previous stays there quite a lot! The amenities listed were: Free Internet Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center Self service laundry The crucial one from my perspective was the swimming pool, which is why I did not go down the Priceline name your own price route.
10. Wanted something close to the airport for an overnight coming back from Europe. Based on the amenities it seemed fairly certain to be the Radisson, which for the price is great. Free internetIndoor or outdoor poolPets allowedRestaurantAirport shuttleBusiness CenterFitness CenterI also used the Spring14 coupon code for a further 5% off, so with tax the total was around $71. As always, I used the PRICELINE link from these pages.
11. I used the PRICELINE link from this forum. I used pl Express Deals. With the 5% offer using code spring14, the price came down to $110+ tax (so $140 all told). Being from Camden, I wanted to go back and am pleased with the price. I had tried Name Your Own Price, but when I was rejected at $102, decided to just go with the Express Deal, rather than see that price disappear from under my nose. Interestingly, trying to book 2 days together, or even using Extend Your Stay, the price goes up to $147, but if you search pl Express Deals, it still seems to be there for just a little bit more ($126).
12. I went through your HOTWIRE link on these pages. It seemed a good bet that the 4* at this price would be this hotel. The total for 3 night was $486, and I think it will be a significant improvement over the Ramada Plaza that we stayed in last time (for about $100 a night + tax) that had long-term building works going on behind it. It was 80% recommended with these facilities: Near Beach Ocean front hotel Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center Internet access Spa Services Accessible for the blind Accessible for the deaf Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking Roll-in shower
13. Heading up for a wedding - I saw that a 3 star was on offer for $67 in express deals, so figured I should go down lower from there. I think this hotel will be great. Its current going price is $103. I used thelink at the top of this page to get onto priceline.
14. I saw that Express deals had a 3 star hotel available for $69 a night, and I guessed it would be the Mirabeau, so I knocked a few dollars off as I went for name your own price. I would have waited a few more days, but as there's more traveling with us I wanted to make sure we got it (for a badminton tournament we're participating in). I had been trying over the past week, and finally went up to $63 tonight for a king room without breakfast. I'm happy with the deal, and I went through the PRICELINE link on these pages.
15. I used the PRICELINE link from this website. Perfect hotel for my needs - 10 minute walk to the location of the badminton tournament! I wish it had free breakfast though...!
16. Forgot to mention that I did in fact use the links from this site. I try to make sure that I always do that. I used to use the *other* site for bidding advice, and their links, but found some replies a bit too snooty/ rude. The amenities were free wifi, swimming pool, choice of beds, business and fitness center.
17. Used Pricelines.Express Deals tab. Based on the research of likely ones, it was fairly obvious that this was what it would be. I should have probably waited until closer to the time, but got too nervous about it. Pretty pleased with this deal, especially as they gave the option to choose a room with 2 beds - useful for my 6 year old!
18. I used the PRICELINE link on this website. 2 rooms for $80 + tax = $194 total. Pretty pleased with this as the rack rate is $169 per night plus tax = $197 per room. I haven't checked the car parking charges yet, but assume around $20ish a night. A good deal, regardless.
19. I'm pretty sure that the facilities were: Free Breakfast Free Internet Indoor or Outdoor Pool Free Parking Pets Allowed Business Center Fitness Center - so exactly as you note! I'm also pretty sure that I used the PRICELINE link on this site to begin bidding. I seem to have missed putting the price in - it was $67 plus tax.
20. Somewhere to stop on the way back to E. WA. We bought this on PRICELINE EXPRESS deals. It was fairly easy to decipher which hotel it was by narrowing down the options (pool, parking, wifi, breakfast). The food made the difference for a fast getaway in the morning, which is why we went for it rather than go for a 3 star that may have not had free parking or breakfast! Overall pretty pleased with the price.
21. Used the PRICELINE link from this site. I was ideally looking to stay in Gresham/ Troutdale (we're driving from E. Washington to the SF Bay), but when my first bid of $52 was declined (but they offered me a rebid for $64) I upped it two dollars and added downtown Portland, figuring that I'd be unlikely to get a 3* for that price downtown. I'm pleased with it - the rack rate for it seems to be $119+ tax, and it has a swimming pool and free breakfast.
22. I bid up to $40 for 2* ($48 for a 3*), as my usual rule of thumb is to bid 10% lower than the opaque offering. When that didn't work, I thought it made more sense to go for the express deal, as I made an educated guess that it would be the Ramada, which was the one I wanted as it's opposite the 3* where other tournament players are staying (the Mirabeau). It was shown with these amenities (normally this Ramada includes free breakfast - not sure if it will do by using this offer as they don't list it): Rated 7.0 out of 10 (or higher) Guaranteed Amenities: Free Internet Indoor or Outdoor Pool Free Parking Pets Allowed Business Center Fitness Center
23. Using the Express bid, got this cheaper than it was offered for on Name your own price. Good price for a reasonable hotel. I went through the PRICELINE link on these pages.
24. Tried originally for 4* either in Pike Place or Seattle Center - using free re-bids up to $100 with no luck. I went for 3.5* and had no joy up to $81, so eventually went up to $85 and got this one. It's a nice place...but not really downtown. I think it's the wrong side of the 5 for that. Still, it's only half a mile from my conference, so I think it'll be OK! Savings are about $50+ off of list. I went through the PRICELINE link on this forum.
