  1. I ended up cancelling this trip for personal reasons hence, no longer looking for help.
  2. I responded to that thread. I am hoping to stay below 140 per night as other fees and taxes are adding up quite a bit and almost reaching to 190 to 200 per night. 3. I ended up buying Comfort Suites- Buffalo Downtown through HOTWIRE for 81$ per night.
  4. Hello, Looking for hotel in Puerto Rico from March 9th 2017 to March 14th 2017. We are going 2 families together. We have 1 toddler aged 3. Other family has 2 boys, 1 aged 3 and other 6. Thinking of staying either in Condando or Isle verde area. Considering the kids, leaning towards staying in a resort, but open to other ideas and also if there are other areas I should consider. Looking for some advise on it. Also is it good idea to rent car for 5 days or just for days when I need to travel further from those areas. I see that some hotels charge for parking. Unsure how the other modes of transportation are and how feasible it is in our situation. I have always used priceline during my travels and I understand the limitation of priceline only guaranteeing 2 adults per room but better hotels have never denied offering me 2 double beds which will be needed for other family. I am looking at some of the priceline express deals and hotewire hotels. Will it be ok to post them here in this thread on which hotel could it be for those options ? I looked at Marriott in Isle Verde and liked it a lot because of proximity to beach but I don't think I have seen it reported here but I haven't done exhaustive search here. Thanks
  5. I think I am going to go with these. Was thinking to start with 3* and then go back to 2.5. Buffalo - Amherst Buffalo Airport (BUF) Downtown Buffalo East Niagara Falls Grand Island Niagara Falls
  6. I think I am almost decided on the zones, just want to make sure that if I select East Niagara Falls or Niagara Falls zone, I will not be offered anything on Canada side and will only be offered hotels on American side if my bid get accepted.. Thanks
  7. 50 is max I can go till 60. I can start bidding now. What can I expect in 2.5stars? Are the hotel's in the area I have mentioned seems like within 30 to 40 minutes driving distance? Is there any parking fees in downtown hotels.
  8. Ended up taking disney resort for this trip.
  9. Looking for 2 rooms for 1 night on May 30th - checkout May 31st near Niagara Falls area. It's a Saturday. I want to stay on American side and don't want to go towards Canada. I don't mind driving 30 to 40 minutes to get to the maid of the mist and other falls attraction. Is 50$ possible for 2.5 to 3* hotel? I am thinking about these areas as possible options, am I missing something? Should I include or exclude any areas? Buffalo - Amherst Buffalo Airport (BUF) Buffalo East - Cheektowaga Downtown Buffalo East Niagara Falls Grand Island – Niagara Falls Thanks
  10. Just want to close out the thread saying that i gave up on bidding with no success and ended up taking a help from a friend who work at marriott. thanks for valuable info..

  13. OK so I have reached the 95$ price. No success on 4*. Increasing the budget is an option but wonder how much higher would I have to go? Should I consider a switch to 3*? What would be the strategy for that? I think it would make sense to stick to the same areas or should I avoid some areas? I was thinking of adding 2 more areas Regents Park and The City - Tower Bridge - St. Pauls Cathedral. Based on the history of what is reported here, any ideas what can be offered for 3* in these zones? I just want to see my options.
  14. i have reached to 85$ so far with no success. I will increase the bidding soon. Total comes to approx 425$ with taxes included when I bid 85. i am seeing a hotel on PE for 101/night. i have 10% off code on express deals. with taxes it's coming to almost 460$. Any guesses on which hotel this is? This is the lowest price I have seen on PE so far. Should i ditch bidding and just go with PE? Or at least go with bidding until i reach the same total as PE. I know its still going to be little cheaper with bidding but just wondering.. 4 Star Hotel Hammersmith Area What You'll Love Free Internet Guest Ratings: 8+ Very Good Choose Bed DOUBLE BED - NONSMOKING ROOM Book$101 /night DOUBLE BED - NONSMOKING EXECUTIVE ROOM Book$109 /night
  15. feb1, did you end up buying this? can you share what hotel was this? thanks
  16. I was reading some older posts as suggested by romelle and that poster was saying about Kensington - Knightsbridge - Chelsea zone that if the lowest price on retail site on priceline is hilton olympia or Copthorne Tara Kensington, that zone should be avoided. I researched into those two. Hilton getting bad reps and questions on why it has 4* rating, Copthorne Tara Kensington got mixed reviews.. Do you agree? that's what i am seeing right now. Should i replace that zone with regents park or london bridge?
  17. i researched that one, i found some threads on tripadvisor which didnot speak highly of that company. i need to do more digging on it though. i located a bus service which only goes to victoria station and from there the taxi could cost little bit based on hotel location. http://www.europebus.co.uk/london-to-heathrow/ most of the taxi services are quite expensive and most of them will cost 40-50 pounds one way to central london, i figured i would dig more into this once i finalized the hotel. thereuare, i totally get your point, i am just curious if i were to bid on 3* hotels what would my strategy would be and where will i stop for that in $ terms? i am just trying to see the difference between 3* and 4* price.
  18. Thanks for explaining. Thanks thereuare for laying out the plan for me. I definitely need to look for fall backs as well. Priceline is adding lot of taxes. At bid of 73, after tax is almost coming to close to 90 to 95$. When I stated my budget I wanted to stay close to or below 100$ including taxes but seems like that might be unrealistic. I might end up increasing my budget eventually I guess but it's hard. I will keep trying and then might start considering PE or Hotwire too or lower the star rating. I just got a coupon from Priceline for 10% discount on Express deals. Should I also add Regents park and City - Tower bridge area? I discarded those because of one area being little north and one too west. Journey from airport might be little longer. Also any guess on which hotel is this in PE deal? 3 Star Hotel Regents Park - Baker Street - Camden Market Area What You'll Love : Free Internet Condo Choose Bed STUDIO Book$84 /night $92 per night Nonsmoking Standard Studio
  19. OK I guess it must have been a while since I have placed a bid on the hotel but I thought I would just start with 1 zone I like and then keep adding the other 5 zones I am ok with along with re-bidding zones which are two and can bid like that. I think your approach you are starting with combination of 3 zones I am ok with and then change that combination every time? So why start with combination of 3?
  20. Ok so I am thinking of adding few more zones apart from original list so final zones I am thinking is : Bloomsbury - Marble Arch - Kings Cross Station & British Museum Mayfair - Soho Westminster - Houses of Parliament - Victoria Knightsbridge - Harrods Kensington - Earl's Court Notting Hill - Paddington Station Area Thinking of starting with 4* and go from there. On PRICELINE EXPRESS deals I am seeing Kensington - Earl's Court Area Hotel 4* at 107$ per night. Westminster - Houses of Parliament - Victoria Area Hotel - 118$ Notting Hill - Paddington Station Area Hotel - 122$
  21. I am going through some of the posts of vanpoodle as suggested by Romelle. I am finding some interesting information. I might update the list of areas based on that unless you don't agree with those suggestions/comments. I will update you soon. Thanks
  22. wanted to start with 4* and then go to 3* if I dont get anything in the price range. Wanted to stay below 90. Do you think any of these area would be suitable for me? Bloomsbury - Marble Arch - Kings Cross Station & British Museum Mayfair - Soho Westminster - Houses of Parliament - Victoria
  23. ok thanks. Do you have a strategy in mind I should use, price starting points etc? Should I start now or wait till March? I usually use the links from here, do you know for sure that I have not used the referral links below in the past?
  24. Yes I am leaning towards taxi anyways, just need to search for an option which is cheapest I guess, I don't see train as an option from Airport to Hotel travel. Could you answer me about the hotel question about 3* vs 4*?
