  1. I agree with the last review as far as the room and reception, buffet continental breakfast are concerned, but there are some other aspects that may be of interest. The hotel is just off the freeway so its easy to navigate to, and yet its not noisy. There is a secure and very pleasant spa and swimming pool in the grounds. We tried the restaurant , name something like Bookers, and its very reasonably priced, with fresh cornbread, soup and salad, and main courses all for $12 to $15 per head. We were content as the room was quiet, and the bed was clean and comfortable.
  2. I stayed there for 2 nights 29/30 May 05 - excellent room in Building 2, lovely grounds, was really good value at $140 per night. The furniture deserves a mention as most Hyatts seem to have the oak/marble dresser top but this hotel has really large rooms that feel like suites. We really enjoyed the restaurant and probably would have stayed in the hotel grounds if we werent enjoying ourselves exploring Monterey, Carmel and Pfeiffer NP.
  3. We stayed for one night 6/11/05 at this hotel. The car was pointed in the direction of the car park without any assistance with luggage, so we eventually got it from the P3 level to our room; reception staff are so uninterested that they do not listen to anything you say, you need to give them your name a few times then put it in print in front of them. I thought it might be just one, but when I stood aside and sought the assistance of another receptionist she had similiar skills. The room was small but clean and had a TV that was properly tuned in. Room service meal was excellent and reasonably priced - ends at 10pm though. Buffet breakfast was ok and cost $12 or 13 Parking is $21 per night Recommended for an overnight stay in Hollywood area but we probably bid too much at $75 because we wanted that area.
  4. Bid $75 for 3* in West Hollywood and got this. I didnt do it thru SB as I have a UK credit card and that is a PRICELINE.com link. Please put a priceline.co.uk link and I will use it. Cheers for a great site, with helpful info on bidding. Patricia

  10. 1 room(s) @ $114.00 per night x 3 night(s) $342.00 Taxes and fees: $46.95 Hotel Subtotal $388.95 Additional Savings $30.00 Total Price $358.95 The additional savings are a voucher worth up to $50 - $10 per night. First time trying hotwire, as for the first time there was the following winning combination - package search showed only one 3* hotel in SM area was Holiday Inn Santa Monica Beach at the Pier - the reviews are good for the hotel, including free parking - the hotel website showed that the rooms jumped in price from $176 to $196 on Fri and Sat as there is a special event on. What could this be? I decided not to wait to buy the rooms just in case this hotel fills up. Patrici0
  11. I bid of STG 37 for Monterey Seaside 3* rejected for period 30 May 2005 1 night. I then changed date to 29 May for 2 nights and increased to
  12. I tried on 2 nights to get a bid accepted for 25 May 2005 for 4 nights. We want to be close to SM beaches but will accept Marina with a tradeoff of no parking charges. Is this realistic? Reading the posts I expected that 2 1/2 * would have been accepted at STG 30. *
