yesterday received a great deal from our local tour operator they had one suite left for the FL Hilton beach resort and one for the Courtyard b Marriott ( both same price as the hotwire deal ) we choose the Hilton ( close to the W where we stayed some years ago ) this time no PRICELINE or HOTWIRE for us but I know that if we can travel in the future we will certainly need them again everyone thank you you were a great help and I learned( again ) a lot

missed it and thank you again for this well explained detail Il Lugano seems a great hotel just not in the neighbourhood we are searching we intend to go to the Sawgrass Mills mall and there is a shuttle that runs every day from 4 different hotels so we are searching a hotel in the neighbourhood of those hotels ( the B hotel is one of the collecting places also the Pelican, the Atlantic and the Mariott ) that is why I pre booked the B hotel ( it was the cheapest one ) Westin Beach seems a great alternative, mixed reviews and price not that much cheaper as I booked our B Hotel now still have time will keep u posted have a wonderful Sunday from rainy Belgium

Hyatt Pier have read some terrible reviews on trip advisor regarding the low building......... that scarred me off suppose we end op in the low building .... not that good and tower, we would have to add another 60 to get into a tower unit if they are available at check - in Westin beach seemed good but could not find that deal anymore ????? all the others were above our budget ( 165 and up ) there is another issue, we intend to go shopping one day to the galleria mall and it seems there is a shuttle leaving every day from some hotels for ex the B hotel is one of them so that would also be convenient andit is just a booking I can easily cancel without any charges that is why I took the liberty of booking it against125 / night seemed to be a great value (quiet is our first priority, second, on the beach, third in the neighbourhood of bus to the mall) thanks again I keep on looking every day

just wanted to keep you updated booked with a local office ( online ) the B hotel I can cancel this free of charge and still have time to check things out we really would love to be at the beach so if I try bidding there is a chance we will not be on the beach itself that is why I am checking out all the hotels at the beach ( price between 100 - 150 ) could you some ideas our priority is quiet that is really very important I hate to hear cars driving by or people making noise we stayed once at the W hotel and that was wonderful but this is now a bit over our budget thanks again Frieda ( why the B hotel.... It is a new hotel so hope they have soundproof windows ??? )

Yes I will certainly do that, at this point I will try to bid again a few times and am checking out several websites to see which hotel would be the best for our needs if we book one instead of bidding if we have to pay between 100 and 150 ( that is what I had in mind to spend ) perhaps there are better deals and better hotels so need to do a little more homework thank you for your help will keep you all posted have a wonderful day

Hi, It has been a long time ago since I used Priceline and I had The Kitano Hotel in New York a long time ago thanks to the help of the administrator I can use your help again need a hotel for August 15 till August 18 ( 3 nights ) Fort Lauderdale pre cruise ( love to be at the beach but also hotel should be close to some shopping and restaurants ) have seen the hot deal on HOTWIRE 91 $ 4* beach ( any idea which hotel this could be ? ) but also saw some PRICELINE EXPRESS deals 103 $ Is it worth trying bidding let us say starting from 70 $ going up to end at 80$ max ?? eventually ,price will not be that much lower as the HOTWIRE deal I really do not know to decided which hotel to book that is why my priority this time is price but would love some quality to ......... need a hotel quiet, at the beach, but in walking distance of shopping and restaurants ( for breakfast ) really have no idea which one to book and budget is max 95 $ but 70 would be better so please should I book this hotwire deal of 91 or 103 of Priceline ??? which one could that be ?? or gamble and get one for 75 ????? all your tips are more than welcome sorry for the English mistakes, it is not my first language thanks for your time to help me have a wonderful day Frieda Belgium

Hi, Some time ago a posted a question regarding bidding on hotels for Dubai, there was only one zone so not much to choose from. Because I was very early preparing our trip for upcoming December I checked again yesterday ( Priceline ) and I saw there were 3 more zones added, ok I was willing to give it a try but did not expect that it worked. We wanted a 5* hotel so I tried Deira at 70 usd no luck added Bur Dubai 75 usd no luck now because I thought it would not be working as cheap as I named my price I added 4* and added 3 usd and you know what bid was accepted We have now the hotel Four Points By Sheraton Downtown Dubai for 78 usd makes a total for 3 nights ( 9th December 2011 ) tax included 290.22 usd Am not sure if we need to feel happy because we really wanted a 5* hotel for our first visit ( pre cruise ) to Dubai but the reviews on TA are not that bad and I hate to choose from so many hotels that after months now finally I know where we are staying and can start planning our trip. Hi Yes I saw there was only one zone, but it is a kind a big zone, such a pitty nobody used betterbidding - priceline for Dubai just am not sure how to start and what to expect that makes it really not easy am checking priceline which hotels they offer but I know from the past they also gives sometimes a hotel not on there website and because we have some preferences ( quiet but not far from all tourist stuff ) I am a bit affraid where we would be located I will def. keep u posted need to check some other TA and compare some prices thanks for your reply have a great day Frieda

Hi, I have got a big problem, because I can not decide I always use Priceline/Hotwire through betterbidding and it worked always fine ( thank you all for your help ) this time I need a hotel in Dubai and checked Priceline and I do find " Name your own price " but I can not find anymore information on this forum has anyone used it ? what should I expect ? if not all your tips all welcome where to search for booking a hotel in Dubai for December Thanks again for your time have a great day Frieda

Wished I could help you you can try it, why not BUT why not do as I did and try for a lower price maybe it gets accepted you never know which hotel you get I am happy but would also have been happy with a lower price on a 4* in aother area so ....... have a great day wish you good luck

I want to thank you all for your help ( especially the bidding example which I used today ) because our offer was just accepted for the Hotel Kitano and we are so happy with this Hotel just what we needed, quiet but still a very good location. This time no mistakes I put your answer with the bidding strategy on one side of the computer and used every time the PRICELINE link closed and did exactly how it was ( so well ) pointed out the last link MTE MTW T ESB CPS and last price 170 was accepted and I believe this is a very good price because it is a hotel that we really loved to have so again THANK YOU SO MUCH for your time and help hope one day I can return a favor have a wonderful day from Belgium Frieda

Hi again, NY seems so complicated for a person that lives in the country I have been reading ( when I have the time ) as much as I could and that is why I thought MTE and MTW were the best places to bid on but again I do understand now that I can include CPS TS and ESB as well ( I already included them on a try at that point I was willing to stay everywhere due to the mistake with my hb ) I am willing to go a little bit further would feel more comfortable if I had a hotel so I can start planning day by day. I will keep with 4* and am willing to pay more ( 170 ) as long I have a decent hotel suppose I start with MTE at 110 and add free zones should I include also MTW ( as a free zone ) or should I close and try again with MTW at 110 and add free zones close again and start again with for ex TS I hope I explain it correct what my doubts are I know I have to wait 24 hours before I can place an offer again but should I increase the price after those 24 hours ? I know I make it very very difficult yes I did include MTE and CPS so all zones ok for us are TS 120 / MTW 125 / MTE 130 / CPS 135 / HK 140 / ESB and added some free zones went up to 160 I need to type sometimes in a hurry ( before leaving for work ) but it is no excuse I need to make it very clear I wll follow ever advise I can get to get a 4* room and am willing to pay 140 would consider go up to 160 ( without taxes ) am not sure which the top area but as you explained me in a perevious thread MTW MTE is maybe the best location start seeing New York again so sorry for my confused conversation hope you could give me a good plan and I will stick to that plan and use the PRICELINE link through this site thanks again for assisting me have a great day Frie
