  1. Hello, Very happy with this deal. Thanks to the other posters who indicated this price and hotel. I probably would have bid higher if I hadn't seen your results. Thanks!!! Mo
  2. Hello, What's a Pricebreaker Deal and where do I find them on PRICELINE? I've always just used the Name Your Price option. Thanks.
  3. Received this hotel on my first attempt. Reviews on Trip Advisor are mixed so hope it's OK. Thanks for your site. Modeen
  4. Here's my update..... My patience paid off! I've been checking daily (gee, maybe I need to get a life, huh?) and today the rate dropped to $81. I grabbed the other room I needed, so now I'm all set. I certainly don't understand the reasoning behind the pricing changes, but I don't need to. Just glad I didn't have to pay more. Thanks again for all your help, and this time I did use the HOTWIRE link to click through. Modeen
  5. I'll probably just wait it out. I'll keep checking and maybe I'll see the price drop. There is a 2-star that keeps coming up in the same area for less than $100, but it only has a 50% approval rating from Hotwire customers, and that doesn't sound very good to me. Mo
  6. It would be nice if it were close, but it doesn't have to be the same hotel. If the price on this one stays at the current rate, we'll just find something else in the neighborhood. Thanks.
  7. Thanks for checking this for me, but I see my error. I entered in the wrong dates for this thread. The dates I want are 12/30/11 to 12/31/11. So sorry for the mistake. If you search for this date, I'm guessing you'll only see what I see which is the $253 rate. I think the theory that they only have a few rooms available at the $85 rate is the right one. When they are gone, the price just goes up. Thanks for all your help. Mo.
  8. Yes, I saw the $85 price when I tried to book one room, so I searched again and asked for two rooms. The price was in the high $200's. So I though I'd at least get one room at the lower price, and hope to snag another one later. I think you are right about having a limited number of rooms available for Hotwire for a certain night and I was able to buy the last one. But I'm shocked that you see one now for $85. I've been searching multiple times a day and only come up with the $253 price. So I'll keep trying. Maybe I'll see a change soon. Thanks for helping.
  9. Yes, it was the Hyatt Place North. I was able to book the room for $85 last night. When I received the email confirmation minutes later, I tried to Add A Room. So it was only a matter of minutes between the time it was $85 and then $253. I know the prices can fluctuate, but this seems extreme. Thanks for all your help. M
  10. Hello, First, I apologize for not using the link on your site for getting through to HOTWIRE. I do try to remember to use it, but I just plain forgot. Sorry. The amenities for the hotel are: shuttle, smoke-free rooms, complimentary breakfast, fitness center, pool, business center, internet. I'm pleased with this hotel, but now I'm trying to book a second room. I tried the option to Add A Room, but when I do, the price has now jumped to over $250. If I try going back through HOTWIRE like a new reservation, I also see really high prices for this hotel. I plan to just wait it out, but if anyone has any ideas, please let me know. Thanks. Mo
  11. Hello, I've used the "Add a Room" feature before, but this time, it's not working. I was able to book the original room for $85. But when I try to add a room for the same nights, the price jumps to $235. Would you recommend I just wait? Has anyone ever had this happen and then the price magically goes down again? Thanks for your help. M.
  12. Hotel gets mixed reviews but there wasn't much showing for availability at this time. Hope it works out. Thanks. Modeen
  13. Like several others who have reviewed the Palmer House, we were apprehensive when we checked in that the room would not meet our expectations. We asked during check-in if a room with a king bed was available. The check-in receptionist was charming and said she would look but that the hotel was very full. She said she found one for us and we headed off to the 21st floor. When the elevator opened, we saw that we were on a floor designated as Diamond Club or some kind of designation. In fact we saw some people from our floor head upstairs for a complimentary breakfast, but we didn't push our luck. Anyway, the room we had was simply huge. It had a king bed and a very large sitting area with two large comfortable chairs. I don't know how rooms are assigned, and I know we've sometimes felt that because we booked through Priceline we're given the "bad" rooms, we certainly lucked out on this trip!
  14. There were 4 icons: Fitness, Business, Restaurant, and Internet. Hope this helps. M.
  15. Haven't stayed at the Allerton Hotel before, but I'm looking forward to giving it a try. Thanks for all the information you continue to provide on this site. M.
  16. I started at $75 and after adding 3 additional areas was able to book this 4* hotel for $82. Was hoping to get the Hyatt Regency, so I'll hope this is a nice place. Thanks for this site. I love it!
