  1. Working in the area for an extended 6-8 weeks.

After staying at 2.5* San Jose Airport INN for $50 a few nights...Yuck!

Looking for a Residence Inn or comparable anywhere. Non found.

Called Residence Inn in Campbell. They were booked up sporadically.

Nothing available 2.5* $45-55 in San Jose areas using this sites PRICELINE link.

Finally got a Best Western Plus for $60 after entering the following areas.

It's OK since all rooms come with small frig, microwave, flat screen, dvd.

Hope I have better luck with Residence Inns later.

    Cupertino - Campbell

    San Jose South

    Sunnyvale - Santa Clara

    Milpitas

  2. Front desk was very friendly and accomodated Frig/micro combo but I got a room above the indoor pool and near the door entrance to the 3rd floor. Depending on how many unsuperviced kids are at the hotel, on the weekends it is a bit noisy around the indoor pool area with games and air hocky. Attached Resteraunt/bar seemed nice while I had a coke waiting for room availability. Comp breakfast was waffles, bacon, fruit, yogart, breads, cerial and juices.

  3. It's the Comfort Inn 12031 Lackland Rd.,Saint Louis,MO,63146.

Front Desk was friendly and accommodating. I called prior to checkin explaining my situation...checking out of the Homestead suites next door due to unavailability **No $25 deal on priceline while booked up** asking if they had a room with a microwave and frig available or should I go ahead and throw my perishables away. Front desk (Chelsie) said they did have such rooms but not ready at the moment and I should wait till 2pm. Ran some errands and checked in at 1:30pm. Room is spacious, nice flat screen TV with HBO. Mini frig/microwave combo was clean and not iced up like so many others. Did not use restaurant on property nor complimentary continental breakfast but they did seem to have steady business. This hotel worked for me as a Telecom tester working nights. Will follow up post checkout to report any additional charges ie, in room safe or frig/microwave room.

  4. Seeing all the rack rates going up around the city and worried a convention moving in... I panicked and pulled the trigger.

    It is the...

    Comfort Inn Westport

    12031 Lackland Rd.,

    Saint Louis, MO, 63146

    (314) 878-1400

    I checked it's rate online... $64.00

I got it for about the same price, $249.08 for 4 nights.

Use Hotwire and PRICELINE links on www.betterbidding.com.

Will follow up on if it's fit for road trash on a tight budget. :)

  5. Time to check out of the Doubletree just up the street. Needed to get into a place with laundry facilities. The Staybridge next door is great but did not seem to be available on Hotwire looking at area vs amenities. Remembered staying at the Homestead Suites in 06 for $25 a night. I can't believe the deal is still here. Bid $25 for 4 nights. Got it 1st try!

    Total price $124.36

    Homestead Suites

    Westport

As always, used www.betterbidding.com PRICELINE link.

  6. Owensboro does not have a lot of hotels so it's a bit pricey. There is however a new Marriott Courtyard opened but it's not listed on any discount web sites to date. FYI men, the wife being a native will only stay in the 2.5* hotels in the area. That's the Fairfield who wants $99, the Hampton $114, and the new Courtyard $129 for pre Christmas stay. Book early through Better Bidding! Anyway, here's the bid story...

    Bid $35...No

    Bid $40...No

    Bid $45...No

Bid $50...No but for $15 more you can bid again.

Bid $55...No but for $15 more you can bid again. Interesting! Could that have been for the more expensive Hampton?

Used Better Bidding PRICELINE link and stratagy.

    Bid $58...Yes FairField Inn.

This weary Christmas traveler will be happy thanks to betterbidding.com.

  7. Those familiar with ESA, this is an older one. 3 level with no elevator. As you walk in the entrance, a small office is to the right; a stairway is directly in front leading up to a common area with 4 tables, chairs and entrance to the 2nd floor. To the right rear of the common area is a stairwell to the 3rd floor. There are stairs on each end of the wings also. If you like to save money by cooking in, this room has a full stove...oven with 4 burners. This hotel will do since I could not extend my stay at the DoubleTree in the Columbus/Worthington on Priceline for $40 due to a "Good Guys Car Show" convention rolled into town and jacked up all the hotel prices in that area. Priceline said I could have extended for $99 but that's another topic.
