1 day notice $86.59 total. I guess everyone needed a room to pick up their kids from Drake University because I wasn't getting anythng better and I even tried Pricline first. I hadn't really looked close to see that the Fairgrounds area was considered downtown to Hotwire, but oh well. Others can learn from it before deciding to take the Hotwire "downtown" option.

When searching for Dec 23rd I got 2 hotels to come up in the Wisconsin Dells: 2.5* amenities: Resort, restaurant, pool, fitness, spa services, gold nearby, business center, and laundry facilites. $150 2* doesn't show any amenities. $58 Does anyone know what these might be?

It had just become the Crowne Plaza Hotel Minneapolis North and the pool and some floors were still under construction. What we saw was beautiful. Our rooms were sparkling new. Because the pool was under construction they were giving guests vouchers to the pool at Amerisuites across the street. Some guests were complaining, but we found the other pool to be quite nice. Total for 2 rooms $135.95. The day before I purchased, Hotwire was offering a hotel in the same area with free breakfast for $63. I assume it would have been the Amerisuites, but when I went to bid, that free breakfast amenity was not there and we got the above property.

Wow, I'm getting great deals for this trip between HW $163 flights and now Priceline $12/day car for 8 days. Yippee! Car total $140.76 with taxes being almost half the cost.

I tried Priceline and stopeed bidding at $120 since they were predicting $46 for tax which would bring it up to $166. I also have seen a lot of NWA flights come up with Hotwire, so I knew my chances were better for nonstop from MSP. Yippee! They are nonstop flights for only $163 each for 4 tickets.

OK, I did that but there was nothing with just restaurant and pool. The closest thing was Sheriton World Resort with Restaurant, Pool and Business Center. Could that be it? FYI, the dates are for Aug 24th-27th (this month).
