I noticed that the vast majority of wins for this area and star level are The James Royal Palms. And, if I were to guess, I’d say Hotel #2 is the James Royal Palms. However, since Hotel #1 has a different Recommendation Rating, it’s obviously a different hotel. Maybe Loews South Beach? I don’t see Loews getting a 75%, though.

Anyway, any help/suggestions/tips would be very much appreciated. And, of course, I will use a BetterBidding link for my HOTWIRE purchase. Thank you for reading and any reply. Happy bidding.

  2. I was looking for a last minute cheap hotel in the Atlantic City area this weekend for a party I was invited to. I first tried $50 for 2* and got denied. I was trying to get either the Dolce, Clarion, or Fairfield, which are on the hotel list. Since there is no 1* hotel on the list for Absecon, I thought I would take a chance (knowing full well that the list is not complete, and there are so many hotels on the Absecon strip) and rebid adding 1* and raising to $60, thinking maybe I would still get a shot at one of the 2* hotels on the list. Apparently not. I got accepted for Absecon Travelodge. With fees and taxes, it comes out to $79, which is only $6 below retail. So, not the greatest deal. A little disappointed, but that's the risk you take.

Please add Absecon Travelodge to the hotel list for 1*.

  3. UPDATE: I bid $90 for 2 rooms and was declined. They gave me an offer for $116. I still have not accepted yet. I'm thinking about bidding around $100. I guess I'll have to wait a few days, though, because I didn't get a free rebid.

@JamieDDS: I don't want Trump, either. That's why I only selected 4*. I was looking at Monte Carlo. That will probably be my fallback if I don't get the price I want through Priceline. Thanks for the reply.

My two main factors in choosing a hotel in Vegas this time is location and pool. Basically, somewhere with a nice pool on the strip between Desert Inn Rd (Wynn/Encore) and Tropicana Ave (MGM/NYNY). Anything more north or south is just too far of a walk for me (yes, I'm lazy). I stayed at Bally's during my last visit, being more price-conscious. The location was great, but the pool and amenities weren't spectacular to say the least. So I'm at least looking for a step up from Bally's. So, like I said, the Monte Carlo would suffice as a fallback. Pretty nice pool, decent location.
