  2. I just booked the LaQuinta hotel in New Haven, CT for 07/18/09 to 07/19/09 for $57 per night. It's description was 2 1/2 star Airport Shuttle, Comp.Breakfast, Fit.Center, Pool, Restaurant, Business Center, Laundry and High Speed Internet. Thank you betterbidding.com!
  3. Hey, This is Disney Fan. Glad I could help you out with your bid. I hope you enjoy it! It was my first time using HOTWIRE and I'm glad I got a fantastic deal. I love Betterbidding.com. They help me a lot.
  4. When I booked my Sheraton Manhattan ( 3 1/2 star for $115 per night) with HOTWIRE, I took a page shot of it for my own reference and security. Now I'm wondering why I didn't get any email confirmation from them with my booking details. Is it just not their policy to do that for all of their customers? Has anyone else received theirs?
  5. I will be there on Sat, July 18th and it's for 2 adults and 2 kids. Thank you!
  6. O.K. I called them and they informed me that there is no parking at the Station St train station . Only at the Union St one and that it's $11 for 24hrs and I shouldn't have a problem on a Sunday.I'll take whatever Hotwire hotel I get in West Haven and not worry about it any longer. Thank you for that #. It helped a lot! Elisa
  7. I'm looking at a hotel for New Haven ( West Haven) on Hotwire and there are 2, with one being a 2 star and the other a 2 1/2 star. I'd really like to get the La Quinta as it's close to the train and I already talked to them about parking at their hotel complimentary for 3 days. Of course I'd like to have a cheaper Hotwire price than going through them but I know I can't guarantee it will be the one. Somewhere I saw a couple of people write that the 2 star with the amenities listed as [ Airport Shuttle, Complimentary breakfast, Restaurant, Business Center, Laundry and High Speed Internet] was the LaQuinta but on the Hotwire site, it's the 2 1/2 star that has those amenities. The 2 star one doesn't show anything really. Can someone help me determine which one is the La Quinta so I have a better chance? Thank you
  8. Thank you for the info. Has anyone else taken this route or know the station or can walk me through? We'll be leaving on a Sunday so I don't know how crowded it will be for parking and what to do if there isn't any left. We'll be gone for 3 days. Reading this now, I think it seems a bit childish of me to have these reservations but like I said, bad luck follows me around and if something can go wrong, it usually does.
  9. HI! I'm having a really hard time planning the last portion of my trip to NewYork. Could someone give me a hand? I'm driving down from Canada and I thought it would be a good idea to stop in New Haven,Ct and stay the night, leave the car there and take the Metro-North train into Grand Central Station the next day. I've found a good deal on a hotel through HOTWIRE and I think the whole idea sounds great but bad luck tends to follow me around. I can't get any real person to talk with at the station there to ask about their parking situation and how the meters work etc.... It's on the website but I'm fearful that there won't be any parking left on a Sunday and then what do we do? I've never bought a train ticket through a machine and in general, I guess I'd feel more comfortable dealing with a live person re: schedueling and tickets. I don't want to go ahead and book the hotel until I feel confident in this train situation. I'm wondering if I should just drive further to Stamford. Can anyone whose taken this route walk me through it? Thanks so much!
  10. We finally took the plunge and got the 3 1/2 star Sheratan Manhattan for July 19-22 for $115 for our family of 4. The amenities were: Fitness Center Restaurant High Speed Internet Business Center Smoke free rooms Thank you betterbidding.com for all of your help. I will definately use you again! And to all of those who view this... make sure to use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links at the top of the page to make your reservations. It's the least we can do for all of the wonderful information we get. Elisa
  11. I just checked the Sheraton Manhattan Website and put in our dates but it came back saying that we exceed the maximum number of people to a room. Even the 2 double beds. If the Hotwire hotel I choose is the Sheraton, could they end up charging me extra for the 2 extra people? Or is the price Hotwire gives, the full price no matter what?
  12. Newbie here. Glad to have found this most helpful site. I've been using it for the past 2 weeks and always use your links for checking prices. My family of 4 want to take a trip into NYC and do it on a fairly tight budget. We want it to be nice too of course, so using HOTWIRE to save some $ is a great option. I don't want to make a big mistake with our hotel so I tought I'd run this by you. I've found a 3 1/2 star Midtown Central for $115 ( that's $141.22 Canadian) on July 19th -22. Smoke free Fitness Center Restaurant Business Center High Speed Inernet I think it's a good price for the area and because we are 4 people. It didn't really matter where we were located but I want it to be safe, clean, smoke free and not too far out of the way. Do you think it's one of the Sheratons and is it a good choice for us? Any help at all would make me feel better before I jump on board. Thanks, Elisa.
