  1. Used the Priceline link on BetterBidding to win the Westin St. Louis. Tons of rebidding zones on a 4* in STL. Bid in $5 increments starting at $45-$85, then $10 increments $95 to $125. Got it on the last rebid, Boom! Thanks BetterBidding!!!
  2. Plenty of rebidding zones for a 4 * in MPLS area. Started at $50, no hits on the hilton, $5 increments and hit at $100. Only had 4 rebids left, oh well. I used the Priceline link on better bidding!
  3. Used the PRICELINE link on BetterBidding to get another great deal. Here is the bidding History: $40 in ATL South 4* rejected, rebid in $2 increments adding the other two airport zones, then 2 other rebid zones, until accepted at $48 on 5th try at the Westin Hotel Atlanta Airport. Looks like a nice property on tripadvisor. No counter offer seen during the bidding process. $48 x2 = $96 + $23.08 tax/fee = $119.08 total for 2 rooms. Good luck to everyone else!
  4. bgmn, please refer to my recent priceline posts and another recent priceline win at the Caribe Hilton in San Juan. It looks like they just put a bunch of rooms up on various dates for well below what you had been bidding. Three different dates have hit for below $100 recently at the Caribe Hilton. If this property interests you, use the PRICELINE link here and retry your bidding, but start lower, maybe in the $85 to 90 range and re-bid up in increments from there. I was in your exacty position until I finally hit a win two days ago. Good Luck!!!
  5. Chris, based on recent posts, it seems that the Caribe Hilton is putting a bunch of rooms up that are being won for $90 to $100, I would retry your bid for your dates on PRICELINE using the link here, and start bidding at $90 and go up in $2-3 dollar increments using the rebidding zones for your dates. Choose the resort level only, you very well may hit, if this resort interests you. Good luck! rpmelch
  6. I've been trying for over a month to get a pre-cruise stay in San Juan, and finally we got it! This is Valentines day weekend. I had been bidding for 4* and up in San Juan and using rebidding zones. So I would usually bid $100, 105, 110, 115 and stop at 120 or $125. I used the PRICELINE link here two days ago and bid 4* San Juan and it was accepted for $92: 1 rooms, Caribe Hilton, 2/11-2/12/2011. (See my previous post for my priceline win on the following night, 2/12-2/13 at the same property. I was rejected for $90 and then was accepted for $100 (2/12-2/13), so my thought here was to go in a small increment above $90 for the first bid, went with $92 and won right off so ???) I called the hotel directly and they told me that the room is already confirmed with two double beds. Good luck to all, looks like Caribe Hilton just put a bunch on nights on sale, get 'em while you can! Haven't stayed here, but it looks like a nice old property right on the edge of Old San Juan, same complaints about service that you get at every San Juan hotel, but for a steal like this, I'll get by. My backup cancellable reservation I had made was for $190 a night at the Hampton Inn and Suites in Carolina, so this is much cheaper and a more grand property. The Pina Colada was invented in the lobby bar of the Caribe Hilton!

I used the PRICELINE link here two days ago and bid 4* San Juan and was rejected at $90, then it was accepted for $100: 4 rooms, Caribe Hilton, 2/12-2/13/2011. I called the hotel directly and they told me that the rooms were already confirmed with two double beds each, which is great for me. Could have used smaller increments, but I'm lucky I started that day at $90 instead. Still a great deal on a nice property. Good luck to all, looks like Caribe Hilton just put a bunch on nights on, get 'em while you can!
  8. In my experience, which is 20 + times with Priceline in many cities, I have never had a problem getting a room with two double beds. Here is what I do: Call the hotel directly after you get a winning bid on one room on Priceline. Talk to the reservations desk and request a room with two double beds. Most hotels will on the spot guarantee you a room with two double beds. The best explanation as to why they are willing to do this is that it is the king rooms that are harder to come by. So if they can lock you into a room with two doubles that makes it easier for them on the day of check in when everyone else is requesting a room with a king. IF they cannot guarantee you two doubles, then go back and make another bid at your winning price and you'll more than likely get another of the same rooms. I know there are a lot of if's here, but I've never had a problem. Good luck!
  9. after using the PRICELINE link, I started at $45 and rebid in $3 increments until I hit this one at $60: Marriott Atlanta Airport. It looks like a nice hotel with airport shuttle, rated highly on tripadvisor.com I was expecting to hit the Westin which hits all the time in the ATL South zone, but bidding further out in advance this is what I got. Currently the rooms are $90 and up for pre-paid in full reservations, a good savings!
  10. after using the PRICELINE link here, rebid in $2-3 increments from $40 up to my win. Hyatt Lodge at McDonalds for $63, a prior win of mine, nice hotel Last rejected bid was at $60 Good Luck!
  11. I used the PRICELINE link from better bidding in my last minute effort to save some money. First I bid $45 for 3* in Sioux Falls, rejected then $50 for *2.5 and was rejected. No rebidding zones and not wanting to go lower in star ratings, and after waiting 24 hrs.- I bid $70 for *3 in Sioux Falls and won the Holiday Inn City Center, a common winner it looks like. I'm sure I could've got it for less than $70, but would have paid much more through the hotel. It was a nice enough hotel, despite the scary reviews on Tripadvisor.
  12. I started bidding for 4* in the NMA area and got it for $86. Started at $50 and bid up in 6$ increments.
