  1. Free breakfast and "social hour" daily, close to Morristown, easy access to freeway. My favorite hotel in this area, except that the pool closes too early. Every room is functionally a 3-room suite, well decorated and comfortable. I feel bad that I can only spend a few hours a day in my room! It has the fasted internet service I've ever experienced anywhere I did come here a few sunday's ago, but it was too crowded with families, but is a paradise on weekdays.
  2. TripAdvisor panned thos hotel, and according to one review requires a cab ride to reach it... does that sound right to you? IMO no hotel should be listed as an Airport hotel unless they offer an airport shuttle.
  3. This is the Parsippany, not morristown location. It's on Hwy 10 and 287 in Whippany Is there a form for entering these? I have been using copy/paste and freehand entry, which is subject to manual error especially when they are closing the airplane door and I have less than a minute to complete the post. Is that the correct method, or is there a feature I'm missing?
  4. Cool waves see my recent post. Parsippany Summerfield@$44. Summerfield is a nicer hotel, and easier to get to from the freeway. At least, I don't know an easy way to reach Staybridge! Staybridge has free breakfast and dinner T-Th nights
  5. Accepted on First Bid. This hotel has been at $45 in the past. Free breakfast and dinner weekdays (don't know about weekends) Beautiful outdoor pool, first time I'll be in this hotel since Summer began :)
  6. This is a new hotel for me, I have not seen it yet. First bid of $45 accepted, was trying to get the Hyatt Somerfield Suites
  7. I would like to post more often, would like some tips on how to do so easily. When I repeatedly book the same property at the same price, I don't post every repetitition. Also, I often make "last minute" bookings, but am under pressure to do so quickly and don't have time to update to the board at the same time. I would like to find a way to make this easier. I do keep images of all my transactions, if someone wants to enter them I could zip them up and e-mail them. I try to post when I think I have what I think will be interesting to others, but avoid repetitive posting due to the time it takes and the fact that I am sometimes working from a mobile device on the road.
  8. I should add that I use priceline, not hotwire. Your $46 2* might be the holiday inn. The hotel is ok, not great. they are trying to renovate but the place just isn't set up to be a 3* hotel. I saw the "showcase rooms" they are not much nicer than the regular rooms (or maybe I'm getting the renovated rooms??) Well, the beds are comfortable enough and the rooms and hallways are clean. I think it is an old truckers hotel that is trying to raise it's standards - there is a sign in the front lobby apologizing to all their regular clients who are distressed about the conversion to a "non-smoking" hotel, but that there are still somesmoking rooms and they will try to put the smokers close to the doors. Maybe that explains why my requests to be near a door always result in me getting a room in the exact middle of a hallway!!
  9. Thanks Ron, I had been staying weekly at the three Morristown Hyatts at $40 and $45, but have not been able to get them lately. I'm currently staying at the Holiday Inn and Suites in Parsippany for $50/night - I might be overpaying. I think it's a 2*. Free breakfast, the location is OK, not great, it's kind of hard to find from the street. There is a pool but I am told it is not heated and the weather here has been crap for months so I haven't tried to use it yet.
  10. Trying to ID the following Hotwire Hotels: $59 2* in Portage (comp breakfast) $63 2* in Wisconsin Dells (no amenities listed) There is also a 2.5* with many amenities for $119, less interested in that one at that price, though it does include breakfast
  11. I entered 45 instead of 46 trying to get the Hyatt, but didn't get it. Tried to fix it by lowering my star rating and bidding $46. Got the Crowne Plaza instead. I'm sure it's a nice hotel, only one night. As long as there's an airport shuttle I'll be happy enough with it.
  12. Bid $65, hoping to get the Omni Mansion mentioned by earlier bidder. Was offered a $17.00 buy-up, and accepted it (as this was below the $87 paid for the Mansion) Instead, received the Hilton Palacio for two nights. I'll try to get a riverside balcony when I arrive. Did use the better bidding links to bid.
