  1. Alright, well after using up all of my free re-bids over the last 3 days, and getting nowhere, I just sucked it up and took the PRICELINE EXPRESS deal for the 4* in the French Quarter. It bumped up to $168, but no big deal. Turned out to be the Sheraton as we all assumed. Thanks again Better Bidding! :D
  2. Thanks Aaron. I may try and do a few cheap bids on Priceline first, but either way I'll post my results!
  3. Hey gang, been a long time since I've posted here, but I still use you guys, and your links regularly!! <3 Anyways, looking into a small trip to New Orleans for my wife's birthday. Saw two deals that piqued my interest on PRICELINE EXPRESS. 4* French Quarter - Canal Street - $167/night Pets Allowed Business Center Restaurant Indoor or Outdoor Pool Fitness Center Non Smoking 8/10 Guest Rating 3.5* French Quarter - Canal Street - $128/night Business Center Indoor or Outdoor Pool Fitness Center Non Smoking 7/10 Guest Rating For the 4*, based on others posts, and your hotel list, I'm guessing Sheraton, but could potentially be Westin?? Not quite sure on the 3.5*.. based on the hotel list, I'd have guessed the Marriott.. but looking at past wins, it may be the Doubletree? Just looking for some guidance here! Thanks gang!
  4. Just wanted to update and close this. I checked Hotwire pretty much every single day, and the price never dipped below $125 for the same offer as mentioned above. Priceline attempts for North strip up to $125 were all also denied. C'est la vie. I got a pretty great deal at the MGM Grand with some food and drink credits that I'll happily take. Thanks for the help as always.
  5. Yo, you might want to hit up priceline and try to get them to give you a pricematch, since they do guarantee it. Palazzo Deal I'm seeing $148 for Friday, and $135 for Saturday. It may not be much difference, but it's still something.
  6. Yea, I've been all up on Priceline too, started bidding in the 80s, and worked my way up to the 120s, pretty much everyday for the last week or so. Limit is like $130 or so.. just trying to keep it under $300 or so for the total price, because I've got a deal to get the Venetian for that price. I was fine with south, but my fiancee seems hesitant on it for some reason. I don't know. I'd really like to check out Aria, but I'd rather not get Vdara for the same reasons I didn't really want Trump, not really on the strip.
  7. Word.. that's what I'm noticing now.. seems strange though. At any rate, the same search tonight brought up the same results, however, it now has "Smoke Free" and "Kitchenette" added in, so I know pretty sure this property is the Trump, which I've already ruled out. Great property for sure, but not what I'm looking for this trip. Back to the grindstone to try and find something! Thanks for the help.
  8. Ok, so I'm been looking for 5* for 3/2/2012 - 3/4/2012. I entered "LAS" as location. Hotwire has one 5* North Hotel for $131 with the following amenities: Spa Services Resort Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) High-Speed Internet Access Listed as recommended by 90% of Hotwire guests. "59 bookings in the last 24 hours" as well. My guess, is Trump. Even though it doesn't show the usual tell-tale signs of Smoke free, kitchenette, or condo.. reviewing peoples past wins, it seems to be that 90% number that sets it apart. And I'd really rather not pay that much for the Trump. However.. check this out.. I do the same search however instead of LAS, I put in "Las Vegas Strip". Search results comes back with a 5* North, $137/night, same exact amenities as above, the same "59 bookings in the last 24 hours", but "95% of Hotwire Recommended"... what the heck? Nnw I'm confused.. 95% has proven to be the Wynn a few times, and the amenities do match.. but I'm just not sure that it's Hotwire messing around with things, because literally everything else matches between the two. Give the two searches a try yourself, and see if you guys see anything differently. It's very odd! If anyone has any insight on what Hotels these might be, I'd greatly appreciate it!
  9. Hrmm, I might have to look into that TI deal. I hate to tell you this, but I've been doing the same as you, 3/2-3/4 for North Strip 5* only, and have bid up to $123 and been rejected. :( I'll keep at it, but I'm thinking about stepping down to the 4* in the north area and trying for like $75 or so. I'll make sure to post my success or failures, since it seems we have a few people all going around the same time! Good luck guys!
  10. Are you sure? I'm confused by this, because the Outrigger Waikiki on the Beach website says they have the renovations.. the Reef on the Beach makes no mention of it. I was really hoping to get the Reef on the Beach, and NOT the Waikiki on the beach for my upcoming trip in June because of the renovations, and was a little leery about using Priceline because of it. I was stoked to read about them reversing the charges for you though, that makes me feel a lot more confident bidding with them. Can you confirm for sure that it was Reef and not Waikiki? Thanks! I really appreciate it! :)
  11. I'm in the same situation, and a little concerned about it as well. We're trying to get 3 rooms, and we need the 2 beds each room. Thing is, if I select 3 rooms, and 6 people, I get the Wynn (presumably) for $124/night. But if I put 3 rooms and anything from 7-12 people, I get what appears to be the Palazzo for $219/night (has the WiFi symbol). The concern is that there may not be anymore 2 bed rooms left at the Wynn. The Wynn's website doesn't allow you to specify if you're getting a one or two bed room, but if I search for more than 2 in a room, it does bring back options, so maybe my fears are unfounded. edit: Sorry if that came out confusing, my brain is frazzled. :|
