  1. Just called Priceline customer service. The first representative wasn't helpful. Asked to be transferred to a supervisor who stated that if the hotel agreed to cancel, they would process a full refund. She contacted them directly, and they agreed to cancel. Lesson learned :)
  2. I actually bid in the 3* category hoping to avoid this hotel, but I guess Priceline's fine print states that they guarantee the selected star level or better and bumped me up to 3.5* for this hotel. Offer Price:$85.00/night Number of rooms:1 Room Number of nights:2 Nights Room Subtotal:$170.00 Taxes & Fees:$35.86 Total Charged:$205.86 Paid in full
  3. Just won a Priceline Express room at Sheraton Eatontown for $85/night for these dates. Actually a little disappointed because I intentionally bid in the 3* category hoping NOT to get this hotel (it has terrible reviews) but they accepted my bid, so I guess I'll just have to deal with it.
  4. Any help IDing this property would be appreciated. 5. Thanks for the help. I'm going to keep looking...will post a PRICELINE EXPRESS request in that forum in a few.

Thanks in advance for any help available. Will book via PRICELINE link on better bidding site once it is nailed down.
  10. Started bidding for 4* downtown at $60, rejected. Added zones, increasing bid by $5 increments until accepted for $95. As always, started the bid thru the PRICELINE link on this site.
  11. Actually I had never thought of that. I really don't have any experience with PL express so thanks for the suggestion. Today I did find something that looks like it may be a good deal, but need some help narrowing down what property it might be. Priceline express - 4* Midtown West. Amenities: Pets allowed, business Cir, restaurant Room options: Guest Room - $215, 1 bed + sofa bed suite - $236, or 1 bedroom suite - 1 bed + sofa bed - $257. Any help with ID would be appreciated.
  12. Thanks for the heads up. I will take a look at them. We stayed in the Affinia Property right across from Penn Station a few years ago and were put in a huge suite with a full kitchen...and that was a priceline deal. I know there's no way to guarantee something like that again. I'd actually prefer to stay in the midtown area over TS. Like I said, I am really hoping to nail down a suite so that we can put our kids in another room.
  13. I will be staying in Manhattan from 12/25-12/28 with my wife and 2 kids (2 and 4) and am trying to identify hotels that would work. Ideally, an all-suite hotel would be preferable (i.e Doubletree in times square) so that we could get by with just one room reservation. We really don't all sleep well in the same room, so 2 queen beds is pretty much out. Don't have to stay in TS, but this is the one all suite hotel I can think of off the top of my head. With a quick Hotwire search, I see a 4* Times Square area hotel for $216 with Pet Friendly, Fitness, Restaurant, Business ctr, and Internet access. Couldn't narrow this one down on my own. Thanks in advance for the help, and I'll be sure to book with the link on this site...it's helped me out greatly in the past.
  14. Started my bid through the Priceline link here. First bid was $50...rejected, but immediate offer to increase bid to $63. Did not accept. Rebid with alternate zone for $55 and won. We live locally, but need to get to the airport at 3:30 am, and staying in a suite here and using their free shuttle was about the same price as a cab (unreliable at 0330) and much cheaper than most of the reputable car services here.
  15. Started my bid with the PRICELINE link on this site. This took quite a while. Bidding history: Selected 4* MTE and TS... 16. Any ideas on what the Hotwire 5* in Times Square is? Amenities listed are smoke free rooms, fitness center, restaurant(s), laundry, internet, and spa. I didn't see it listed on the NY Hotwire list. Thanks in advance!
  17. Started bidding for 4* in French Quarter for same dates Starting bid - $68, increased incrementally by adding zones (over last 2 days) up to $82...no luck Dropped star rating to 3.5* in French Quarter Starting bid - $50, increased incrementally by adding zones (over last 2 days) up to $73...still no luck Started new bid... Downtown 4* 6/18 - 6/23 Starting bid - $80 - rejected, but was offered to increase price to $100/night immediately - declined offer Added French Quarter and increased to $82 - ACCEPTED Price/Night: $82 Subtotal: $410 Taxes & Fees: $75.10 Total: $485.10 So, by increasing my bid by $2/night, I may have ended up overpaying by $1 x 5 nights ($5) but I'm OK with that. Oh, and of course I used the PRICELINE link on this site for my purchase.
  18. Set criteria for Toronto Airport West for 8/5/10 - 8/6/10 with an initial bid of $85. Bid was rejected, added Brampton zone (doesn't have 4*) and increased bid to $87 which was accepted. Taxes and fees = $19.56 for a total of $106.56. As previously mentioned on this forum, geographically, this hotel should be in Toronto Airport East zone. If I'm correct, it's the only one that's been identified as 4* in the Airport West zone. I wanted this hotel, and took advantage of that. Used the PRICELINE link on this site.
  19. After waiting 24 hours, I re-bid for 4* in Toronto Airport West zone ($85 starting bid), was rejected. Added a zone, Brappton (that doesn't have 4*) and raised the bid to $87 which was accepted. Sheraton Gateway Toronto Int'l. So, this hotel must still be categorized incorrectly. A HUGE thank you to everyone on this site who has posted info on wins that helps everyone else. Rates on this hotel, even through discount sites, are over $200 now. I'll create a separate post regarding the win. Also, used the PRICELINE link to start the transaction, or course.
  20. $68/$70/$72/$75/$77 Total with taxes for 3 nights = $271.80 Used the PRICELINE link from this site as well.
  21. Thanks. I've been checking HOTWIRE as well. I'm not going to go much higher than I already have. I'm really trying to get the Sheraton Gateway, but I guess another hotel would be OK for the night. I would prefer to not even have to leave the airport since my flight is scheduled to land about midnight. Planning on spending 3 more nights in the city, and I will start looking for a room downtown for the additional dates soon.
  22. Thanks for the help with the search. I set my initial bid criteria to 4* in Airport West zone and started at $48. Rejected, so I added each zone w/o 4* (a total of 9) and increased my bid all the way to $85 with the last addition without any luck. Guess I'll wait the 72 hours and start again!
